We then met up with the group and waited for what felt like a very long time for us to go to our train. We finally got on and found our seats. It was a couple hour train ride that took us under the ocean from England to France, called the Chunnel. It was kind of hot, so I was glad that I had my fan, and we were glad that we picked up sandwiches to eat for lunch since there wasn't much on the train.
We did have to switch from the big train to a subway like train to get to Disneyland Paris. It wasn't too bad, and we were all able to get seats eventually if we wanted them. The closer we got to Disneyland the more people got off the train. Once we got there, we found were we needed to pick up the bus that would take us to our hotel.
We had to put our luggage through a metal detector just to get into the hotel. That was kind of a hassle, but we got through without any problems. Margie then checked us all into our rooms. She got three rooms, so four couples had to share. Luckily for Tony and I she gave us our own room. We were the only couple that had expressed a desire not to share if possible. After we got in our rooms we had to figure out to outlet situation. They didn't have any outlets by the bed, so the c-paps wouldn't reach the bed. So Tony went to the front desk and got extension cords for all the c-pap users. Nate and Amy left to go get some food, while the rest of us all decided to go check out the downtown Disney area and Disneyland itself. We weren't sure exactly what we were going to do, but since we got an entry pass for every day we were at the hotel we didn't want it to go to waste.
We stopped in the Disney stores that they had. They had some fun things to buy, but not tons. We decided to wait and see what else we found before buying anything yet.
We then made it to Disneyland. We got some pictures by the beautiful entrance and then went inside the park. I found a map and we started to wander around. Don said he always goes on Pirates first thing in honor of his dad, so that is where we went. It was fun but different from CA Disneyland. The story was in reverse order and the ride was shorter. But still fun.
After Pirates we went on some more ride before Nate and Amy met up with us. We ended up waiting the longest for the Pinocchio ride. All the rides were fun, but they seemed darker and shorter then most of the original rides. We also rode Indiana Jones and it was a roller coaster. It was a very bumpy ride and you hit your head a lot on the harness system that locked you into place. We all only went on that one once.
The Space Mountain ride was a lot more intense in Paris. I am glad that I went on the ride, but I only did it once. They had a couple loops and it went pretty fast. Tony loved that ride. After that ride we got some popcorn and then found a place to watch the fireworks and drown show. They also did displays and music on the castle. It was really cool and I am glad we stayed to watch it this night. It stays pretty light there for a long time, so it was only dusk when the show was going on. The crowds were crazy leaving the park after the show, but we did make our way back to the hotel eventually. We totally zonked out for the night.
