Summer Fun at Grandma's!

My mom set up her pool in her backyard and we went over to enjoy the cool water.  Tyler didn't want to go in because of his swimmers ear that he got from swim lessons, so he played with his yo-yo in the shade.  The ducks decided that they liked him and they followed him around the yard.  It was nice getting out of our house and letting the kids have some fun at grandma's house and in the water.

Green Beans 2020

Pioneer Day Fun

We went over to my parents house for some fun swimming in their pool.  Tyler wasn't feeling very good and said his ear hurt.  So I took him into the Instacare to get him checked out.  He had a lot of wax in his ear that the doctor had to take out.  We tried the water method first because he was worried about her picking it out and the pain it could cause.  I told him to suck it up, but he didn't want to.  Turned out the water was a lot more painful then he thought and then she still had to pick it out.  It didn't hurt very much when she got it out, so he is learning (hopefully) to listen to his mama.  The doctor said he had swimmers ear and needed ear drops.  We picked up the drops and then went back to grandma's to get the other kids and get them home.
After Tony got home from work we ate and then did pop-its, snakes, and parachutes.  Then we watched all the big fireworks from the neighbors.  It was fun watching them all around us and enjoying the lazy nights of summer.

Summer Swim Lessons

This year we took Katie and Zeth with us to swim lessons.  It was fun having them come with us and learn to swim a little better.  The kids loved swim lessons again this year.  They all improved a lot this year.  Allie was kind of a chicken about putting her face in the water until the very last lesson.  I told her if she wanted a snow cone she had to put her face in the water and she did, multiple times.  I am so glad that we were still able to do swim lessons this year.  Covid has changed so much so it was nice that it didn't take away swim lessons too.

Retiling the Bathroom

Tony has wanted to retile the bathroom for a while.  The last time was his first time tiling on a wall so he was ready to try it again.
He did a great job on the new tile and it looks really good.  We have loved having the shelf that he put in.  It is so nice that Tony can do these sorts of things and seems to enjoy it.

Silver Lake Hike and Picnic

Julie invited us to go on a hike with her and her kids.  The boys were still recovering from their surgery so we left them at home and us girls just went.  We went up to Silver Lake.  We hiked around the lake on a nice flat trail before trying to hike up another trail that was much harder.  We got about half way and decided to give up and go back.  It was a little too hard for the little ones.
After our hike we looked for a picnic place to eat lunch.  We ate our packed lunch and then came back home.  It was a lot of fun and I hope that we can do some more hiking in the future.

Independence Day Fun

We didn't get to go to the parade this year (darn Covid) but we did get together at my parents house for a BBQ.  Wendy and a friend of hers were intown so they came too.  Tyler and Josh were still feeling yucky because of their surgery so they stayed home and rested.
After eating lunch Wendy brought some fireworks for her kids to light before they headed back up to the cabin.  It was different watching fireworks going off during the day, but it was still fun.
After we were all done there we went back home.  That night the grandparents came over to watch us do fireworks at our house.  The boys came out to see if they could watch them.  Tyler said the noise hurt his ears and he went back in, but Josh was able to stay and watch them with us and even throw some pop-its.  Josh definitely was recovering quicker and easier then Tyler.  It is true the younger the better.  It was a good day and I am glad we were able to spend so much time with family.
