Tony and Tyler go to Lagoon

Because Tyler was on the Safety Patrol this year at school he got to go to Lagoon.  The West Valley Police put it on and had a lunch for the kids at Lagoon.
This was on the same day as Tyler and Josh's piano recital so we decided that Tony should go with Tyler so that he could get him back home in time for his recital.
Tony followed the bus up to Lagoon in his car and then got to hang out with Tyler and his group of friends.  Each group consisted of 4-5 kids and they all got to go do what they wanted.  Tyler and Lily liked the bigger rides while Buster and Tina liked the smaller rides so they took turns doing both.
Tony couldn't talk Tyler into going on the new big roller coaster.  It is pretty scary looking and it scared Tyler to go on it.  I felt bad that Tony wasn't able to go on that ride.  We had to pay for Tony's ticket so it was too bad he didn't get to do all that he wanted, but he was there to support Tyler.  Tyler said that he had a good time and was glad that Tony was able to go with them.  I was glad that they were able to go together and have a fun experience.  They even made it back in time for Tyler to get changed and us all to get to the recital.

Tyler & Josh Piano Recital

Tyler and Josh had their first piano recital on Saturday.  It was at Day Murray music.  Their were 11 kids who participated and the boys both did a really good job.  They memorized all four of their songs that they preformed.  Tyler went first and sounded great.  I would say that he was the second best player there.  Josh went after Tyler and ended up playing all four of his songs without stopping for applause.  It was surprising but he still played it all very well.
Tony's parents and Nana came and my mom came a little late.  It was so nice of them to support our boys and show them their love for them and their talents.  After the performance we let Tyler pick out a new piano book, The Greatest Showman.  Then Margie took us out to dinner at IHOP.  It was a great night and I am super proud of both my boys and how hard they work at the piano.  They never complain when it is time to practice or time for their lessons with Emily.  She is s a great teacher and I feel blessed to have her come into our home and teach the boys how to play the piano and music theory at a reasonable rate.  We are also lucky and blessed to be able to use Margie's piano here at our house.  It is a digital piano and it is nice to be able to turn the volume up and down and even turn it off.  We are blessed people.

Megan's Dance Pictures

Megan had her dance pictures on Saturday.  She got to wear her new costume for her Spring recital.  She loves to wear makeup and thinks that she looks so pretty with it on.  I try to tell her that she doesn't need makeup to be pretty, she is always pretty.  I hope that she realizes just how beautiful she is inside and out!

Baseball and Rain

Baseball season has been in full swing.  Tyler has been doing a great job.  He is loving playing and we are loving watching him play.  His team changed from the Rangers to the Cincinnati Reds.  So that has been a little hard to get used to, but it has been a good team.  He has a new coach and he has been good for Tyler and the team.
It has been such a rainy Spring.  Many games have been rained out and rescheduled.  We have even had a few games where they played in the rain.  Last Friday it ended up raining so bad during the game.  Lightning and Thunder and rain on rain.  They had a rain delay and then started playing again, but then it started raining again really hard and then they cancelled the game.  I put the girls in the wagon and we hunkered down under our umbrella for most of the game until we just had to move.  We then ran under cover to wait for the rain to die down before we went and got into the car.  It was a wild time, but fun memories.  It sure is fun to watch Tyler doing something he loves!

Dad's and Doughnuts

I finally took my kids to Dads and Doughnuts.  It is where you go to the school early before school starts to read with your kids and eat a doughnut.  We went pretty early so Tyler could participate before he had to report for his Safety Patrol duty.  I think that everyone had a good time and I think that we will go again.

Easter Egg Hunt 2019

Happy Easter!

Random Fun!

We go to Tony's parents house most Sundays for dinner with the family.  We love our time with them and the kids especially love to spend time with their cousins and their Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Tim.
Megan and Allie love Uncle "Timmy" and I have to try and limit the time that Megan spends playing with Tim.  He is super patient with her and puts up with her stepping on his feet and having him lift her up.  Then Suzanne is so good to read with the girls and encourage them to read to her.  Allie liked showing Suzanne her favorite video of Clair singing all the Disney songs.  Allie sings it all the time and loves it.
Margie wanted to go up to Logan to have Nate look at her eyes before his office closed.  So she invited Allie and I to go up with her.
We met Amy and Cora at the cheese factory and got us some cheese and spreads.  After that we went to a chocolate store and got us some treats.  Then we went to Shopko for Margie's appointment.  Amy and I with the girls walked around Shopko while we waited for Margie.
After Margie was done Amy left to get her hair done while the rest of us went to lunch with Nate.  We went to a pizza place and it was pretty good.  After lunch we took Nate back to his store while Margie and I took the girls to the cookie/cracker factory and then the ice cream shop.  It was super fun.  After ice cream we took Cora back to Nate's store before driving home.  It was a great day and we had lots of fun on our field trip to Logan.

Duckies!!!

My parents got baby duckies and we went to go see them.  We love baby animals and love snuggling them.  The ducklings didn't love us holding them so much, but they tolerated it.  The duck that I was holding crawled up my jacket and snuggled into the top of my jacket.  I guess it was cold.  It was pretty adorable.  I am so glad that my parents get these fun animals so that we can enjoy them.  All the kids loved the ducklings except Allie.  She looked at them but didn't want to pet them.  Hopefully she'll like animals more when she is a little older, because the rest of us love them.

Megan's Dance Competition

Megan had her first dance competition at SLCC.  She did a great job.  She had a good time with all the other girls in her class.  It was super fun for Tony and I to go and support her.  I had to pull all her hair back into a low pony tail (even her bangs).  I was really worried that her hair would fall out, but it stayed pulled back.  She looked so different and older with her bangs pulled back.  We love our Megan and our so proud of her and all she does.

Fun Times

Tony and I were able to go to the Jazz Game on Monday.  He got two tickets from someone at work and they were on row 18 in the lower bowl of the stadium.
We were worried about leaving Tyler to put the kids all the bed so we asked Brennen to come and help out and spend the night.  Suzanne's kids were staying at Margie's for about a week for Spring Break so we just picked him up from there and had him hang out at our house and be an extra pair of hands and eyes for Tyler.
The game was super fun.  We really enjoyed being so close to the court.  We walked around a little at half time and got a soft pretzel to share.  The Jazz won the game and then we went home.  The boys were all still awake watching a show so we let them finish while got ready for bed.
The next morning I took all the kids to school and the took Brennen back to Margie's.  It was nice having him around and I think that he had a good time at our house.
On Thursday after lunch Allie wanted to go do something.  So we decided to go to the movie theater and buy some popcorn for us to have for General Conference weekend.  She really wanted her picture taken by the movie signs.  She especially liked the big "A" for Allie.  A nice older gentleman gave Allie an Airhead.  He was so sweet.
On Friday morning Allie and I picked up Grandma Kim and we went to the Jordan River Parkway.  My mom and I have been walking at the Murray Rec Center but since the weather has been nicer this week we have walked the parkway.  Normally I just don't go with her on Friday's since Allie doesn't have preschool, but with the nice weather we were able to take her with us.  She liked playing on the different playgrounds and finding fun places to take pictures.  We are all getting Spring Fever and are loving any and all time we get to spend outside in the sun.

Megan's Friend Party

Megan has been so excited for her friend birthday party and hasn't stopped talking about it for many weeks.  She finally decided she wanted a Princess Party and only wanted to invite girls to come.  The day finally came and she was beside herself with excitement.
Amy was able to have Lydia and Cora come to the party since she was down for her baby shower that was earlier in the day.
Half of the girls came in princess dresses and the others we offered to wear one of Megan and Allie's dresses.  Only one girl didn't want to wear one.  They all looked so cute being princesses.
Megan had three kids from her class come plus one sister of a friend who is also in our ward and a good friend of Josh (Brilynn).
We started out by letting the kids decorate crowns.  They were able to put on sticky jewels on the front and color on the back if they wanted.  After the princess had their crowns it was time to make bracelets.  The girls got to choose what color they wanted and we had a big container of beads for them to choose from.  They had fun being creative and each girl did a great job.
I had planned for the girls to play for a little while before starting our next activity.  The girls were not so interested in free play and really wanted to get on with the next activity.  So I got the Princess Bingo all ready for the girls to play.  Tony called the squares and I think they liked it but it only held their attention for a few times of bingo.
So Tony turned on some Princess songs on the TV and the girls liked dancing around.  He then let each girl pick which song she wanted to hear and they all danced and sang to the songs.  It was pretty cute to see them all get into the music and twirl around like princesses.
After everyone got a turn to sing their song we moved onto opening presents.  Megan was so excited to see what everyone gave her.  Everyone was so nice and she loved everything.
Then it was cupcake and ice cream time.  I decided to let Megan pick out a cake from Sam's Club.  This one was a mermaid small cake with cupcakes around it.  It was perfect.  Cute mermaid rings and two different choices of cupcakes.  Each girl enjoyed their treat and then played some more before their parents came.  I think the girls had a good time and Megan loved her party.  I am glad that she had a good time and I am even more glad that I don't have to do another kid party for many years.
