After the parade we all headed to my parents' house for a BBQ. Tony and I ran to Sam's Club to get some gas for the four-wheeler that my dad has at his house but is looking to move it back up to the cabin. The kids stayed at Grandma's hanging out with their cousins.
After we walked around Sam's and got some gas, we then went back to my parents. Tony worked on getting the four-wheeler started (which it never did start, even after working on it for like 2 hours that day) and I helped get us already for the BBQ.
Tony then got the grill ready to cook the burgers and dogs. Once those were cooked, we got the first round of people eating lunch. The rest of us then ate and it was all super yummy.
After lunch we hung out chatting and just enjoying each other's company. A bunch of the kids then did a little musical number from Annie for all of us. They started working on it at Grandma Camp and continued to work on it at Bear Lake. We thought we'd see the whole musical number, but they only gave us one song as a sneak peek.
Wendy and Benje then went and bought some fireworks for us all to enjoy. The kids liked the parachutes the most, but they also had some other fireworks that were fun. They bought a bunch of the snakes, and they fired up a whole package (six boxes) all at once. It was wild.
After the fireworks my dad hooked up his car to the trailer and the kids all climbed into the trailer. Julie and I sat in the very back of my dad's car and Betsy and Sherri sat inside the car with my dad.
My dad then drove us around the neighborhood, and we would honk and cheer if we saw anyone outside. It is a fun tradition and apparently, we have no shame, so we have fun.
After the parade the Clarks and Sutherland's left and the rest of us stayed and rested or chatted with family. It was nice just spending time with family, especially those who live out of state and we don't get to see them very often.
Our little family then left and went home. We relaxed the rest of the evening and then when it started getting dark, we went outside and watched the fireworks that were going on all around us. It was nice of the neighbors far and wide to give us such a fun firework show. It was a fun family day and a great way to celebrate the freedom of our country. God bless America!
