Happy Pioneer Day

Pioneer Day ended up being a pretty chill day.  We just hung out as a family during the day.  Tony had to go into work that evening so after he went to work, I took the kids to Grandma Kim and Papa G's house to go do fireworks.

Tyler played the piano while Allie sang to grandma and grandpa.  They really liked it.

I brought a bunch of pop it's and then my parents had some old fireworks that they let the boys set off.

My parents' neighbors also had fireworks so we would light a firework, and then they would light one.  It made it way more fun to do it with another group.  Lots of fun fountains and then some pretty awesome aerials.  The boys did a good job setting them all off without any problems.  It was a fun night with family.

Graham's Birthday Museum Visit

Graham turned 7 this summer and wanted to have a birthday party with Allie and Megan, but probably mostly just Allie.  He loves her so much.  She is his favorite.
Sherri planned for us to go to a museum all together that is in South Jordan.  It was a free museum about the history of the area.  It was fun and the kids had fun.  It was a little young for Megan, but she was a trooper and didn't complain that she was bored.

After we did everything that we could in the museum, we then went to Leatherby's for some ice cream.  Sherri invited my dad to come with us, so he joined us there.  That was fun to enjoy each other's company at Leatherby's.

We also bought Graham some fun gifts and he opened them at Leatherby's.  One of the gifts was a toy harmonica and I thought it was so funny that we got him that so he could drive his parents crazy.  I laughed pretty hard; I think that I am so funny.  We had fun and I think that Graham had a good birthday.

Megan and Tony at Bee's Game

Megan and Tony got to go to the Bee's baseball game with her Spring Softball team.  She said that she had tons of fun.  She got to meet the Bee, and she got a mini baseball bat.   Her and Tony had a great time together and she wants to go again.

Josh at Timpanogas Caves

Josh got to go camping with the young men and hike to Timpanogas Cave.  He said it was a really hard hike to the cave, but he was really glad that he went and thought the cave was really cool.

Dad Visit & Splash Pad

I took the three younger kids to go visit Tony at work and then we went out to lunch with him to Cafe Rio.

We then took Tony back to work and I took the kids to the splash pad at the Magna Park.  Josh didn't want to play in the water at all, so he sat under an umbrella with me while the girls played in the water.  He even fell asleep while we were hanging out under our umbrella, something about the heat just makes you want to take a nap.

The girls loved the water and played all over.  There were a ton of other kids there and lots of kids from daycare places.

We lasted over an hour, but then we were ready to go.  Allie would have liked to stay longer, but the rest of us were over it.  It was a nice activity for the day, and I am glad that we went.

Summer Swimming

We got out our pool and the girls enjoyed playing in it for a couple days.  We found that there was a hole in the pool, so it slowly started to shrink.  It was fun while it was up, and we will have to find a new one for next year.

Megan got to go swimming at the Jones house for mutual one Wednesday.  The girls all loved that.  Our family got to go back later that week for a Primary activity that was also at the Jones pool.  We love the water.

July Happenings

Josh got to go to a region dance and the theme was to dress crazy.  He decided to dress in his referee shirt and his pioneer hat.  It was pretty crazy.

I took the girls to the park with me and grandma on our walk.  They had fun bringing their new scooters and riding around the park seeing all the ducks, geese, and squirrels.

Megan team taught her first lesson in young women's on Sunday.  She did a really good job and was very proud of her.

We went to a couple movies this month.  We saw Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4.  Inside Out was better, but we all enjoyed going to both movies.

Allie auditioned for the church's children's choir to sing in general conference.  We had to record her singing and take a picture of her with the audition paperwork.  She didn't make it into the choir, but we knew it would be hard to make it.  They said over 2000 kids tried out for like 300 spots.  I was proud of her for trying.

I finally let the girls have a Snow Cone stand.  They had a lot of fun doing it and made $10.  Josh was a good helper, and they hope to do it again.  July has been a fun month.

July Cabin Fun

Wendy and Benje came into town for a few days and stayed up at the cabin.  So, the three younger kids and I went up and visited them for the day.
We got to go four-wheeling a couple of times and we always love that.  Sherri came up too, and that was fun visiting with both of them.
We also went up another time with just our family and it was so nice.  We love getting up to the cabin, especially when it is just us.  We went on lots of rides and loved spending time together up at the cabin.  Nothing is like getting out into nature, even if you are inside a cabin.

Independence Day 2024: BBQ, Day Fireworks, & Family Parade

After the parade we all headed to my parents' house for a BBQ.   Tony and I ran to Sam's Club to get some gas for the four-wheeler that my dad has at his house but is looking to move it back up to the cabin.  The kids stayed at Grandma's hanging out with their cousins.

After we walked around Sam's and got some gas, we then went back to my parents.  Tony worked on getting the four-wheeler started (which it never did start, even after working on it for like 2 hours that day) and I helped get us already for the BBQ.

Tony then got the grill ready to cook the burgers and dogs.  Once those were cooked, we got the first round of people eating lunch.  The rest of us then ate and it was all super yummy.

After lunch we hung out chatting and just enjoying each other's company.  A bunch of the kids then did a little musical number from Annie for all of us.  They started working on it at Grandma Camp and continued to work on it at Bear Lake.  We thought we'd see the whole musical number, but they only gave us one song as a sneak peek.

Wendy and Benje then went and bought some fireworks for us all to enjoy.  The kids liked the parachutes the most, but they also had some other fireworks that were fun.  They bought a bunch of the snakes, and they fired up a whole package (six boxes) all at once.  It was wild.

After the fireworks my dad hooked up his car to the trailer and the kids all climbed into the trailer.  Julie and I sat in the very back of my dad's car and Betsy and Sherri sat inside the car with my dad.

My dad then drove us around the neighborhood, and we would honk and cheer if we saw anyone outside.  It is a fun tradition and apparently, we have no shame, so we have fun.

After the parade the Clarks and Sutherland's left and the rest of us stayed and rested or chatted with family.  It was nice just spending time with family, especially those who live out of state and we don't get to see them very often.

Our little family then left and went home.  We relaxed the rest of the evening and then when it started getting dark, we went outside and watched the fireworks that were going on all around us.  It was nice of the neighbors far and wide to give us such a fun firework show.  It was a fun family day and a great way to celebrate the freedom of our country.  God bless America!
