Pinewood Derby for Tyler & Josh

After the Arrow of Light ceremony the boys competed in the Pinewood Derby.  They didn't place in the top 3 but they both had a good time making their cars, painting them, and then racing them.  It was craziness because we competed as a whole stake, so lots of cars and lots of kids.
Margie and Lloyd were able to come for the Arrow of Light and stay for the derby.  A good time was had by all!

Arrow of Light for Tyler

Tyler received his Arrow of Light at Scouts.  He worked really hard to get it all done before he turned 11 and went to Boy Scouts.
Grandma Kim and Papa G were able to come and see him get his award (but then had to go before the derby).  They gave it to him before the derby so it was a little chaotic.  But he got it and we are all very proud of him.

Tyler & Megan's Birthday Dinner

Tyler and Megan chose to go to Texas Roadhouse for their birthday dinner.  We all love eating there and they make the kids feel special with ice cream and singing on the saddle.  We can't believe that we have an 11 year old and a 6 year old.  We sure love our kiddos!!!

Family Party for Tyler & Megan

We celebrated Tyler and Megan's birthdays with our both sides of our families.  We let the kids play with their cousins and then we had cupcake's and ice cream. Both Tyler and Megan were spoiled with fun gifts from all.  We all had a great time and we are thankful to all our family who came and supported.

And That's a Wrap

Saturday morning we woke up, got ready, ate breakfast, and then packed the car.  Luckily the rain had stopped so we didn't have to load the car in the rain.  It didn't rain much during the day on Friday (while at Disneyland), but then about 6:30 pm it started to down pour.  We were already in the stores shopping when it started coming down hard.  Tony was going to take the girls and I home after we were done shopping because the boys wanted to stay until midnight and close down the park with Tony and Margie.  After it started raining harder the boys changed their minds and decided going back was a good idea.
The younger three kids found what they wanted for their souvenirs pretty quickly but Tyler had a hard time finding what he wanted.  Tony took him to a couple different places and still no luck, so Margie then took him to look around while we all waited.  He then decided he wanted a fanny pack (like grandma).  So while they went to find one the rest of us went to get on the tram.
Tyler and Margie just missed the tram when they were done shopping and met us at the car.  They said that while they were on the tram the rain really started coming down and they were already pretty wet.  Good things we left when we did.
Our plan on Saturday was to stay in St. George for the night.  We stopped in Mesquite for lunch and then made it to St. George in the late afternoon.  We dropped Margie off at Nana's and visited for a little while before going to our hotel.  The hotel had an indoor pool and a playground.  Allie didn't want to swim so I took her to the playground and Tony took the other kids to the pool.
Allie didn't last very long on the playground and wanted to go back to the room to play the tablet.  After Tony and the other kids were done swimming they came back to the room and got bathed and got into jammies.  Tony then picked us up some dinner and the kids watched TV and tablets for a low key evening.
The next morning we got up, got dressed, and then checked out of the hotel.  The hotel breakfast wasn't very good so we just stopped at McDonald's and got some breakfast that we took back to Nana's house.  After we ate we loaded Margie's stuff in the car and then drove home, stopping only for lunch in Fillmore.
The weather was kind of scary at times with snow coming down and collecting on the roads.  We passed a few cars that had slid off the road and one really big accident that involved four different accidents.  We were thankful that we were not involved in that mess.
We got home safe and got the car unloaded and started unloading everything in the house.  It was a super great trip and we all had a wonderful time.  We are truly thankful to Margie and Lloyd for taking us on such a fun family trip and making us feel so special!

Swimming on our Free Day

We had four day passes to Disneyland so we had an extra day to do whatever we wanted.  We decided to take our free day on Tuesday because it was suppose to be a rainy day.
We did some shopping in the morning and bought some new shoes for Josh, head phones for Allie, and shirts for all the kids from the Walmart by Disneyland.
After we were done shopping we went back to the hotel to have the boys do some homework and Margie and I started some laundry.  While the boys were working on homework, Tony and Margie got us all some lunch.
After we ate and the laundry was done, we noticed the sun was out and and decided to all go swimming.  The pool was heated so it wasn't too cold, but us adults (and Allie) preferred the hot tub.
The older kids loved the pool and had no problem with the temperature of the water or outside.
Allie got tired of the water and wanted to go back to our room, so I took her back and got her and my self bathed and dressed.  After Margie came up from the pool I went back down to relieve Tony so he could shower.
The kids were having so much fun and stayed swimming for more then two hours total.  They would have swam longer but I was tired of just sitting outside watching them.  Tony and Margie offered them other choices of activities but they all just wanted to swim.
After bathing the older kids we decided to stay at the hotel for their dinner reception which was pizza, salads, and soups (lucky for me I still had grilled chicken left over from dinner).  Everyone got their fill and then we went back to our room for a movie night.
Tony hooked up his lap top to the TV and then signed into our Netflix account and picked a movie everyone would like.  We had popcorn leftover from the swap meet we went to earlier in the week and what Margie brought from home.  The kids loved relaxing, watching a movie, and eating popcorn.  I liked having lots of time to get everything ready for the next three days at Disneyland.

California Adventure - Rides & Frozen

On our last day we decided to go to California Adventure first to try and do the Racers again.  We got our fast passes and then we went to ride on Midway Mania.  Turns out it didn't open until a half an hour after the park opened so we had some time to kill before we could go on that ride.
So we went on Arial, and then Tony took the older kids on some of the ride at the end of the park that we hadn't done yet.  They loved them and were happy.  While we were doing that Margie took Allie on Arial twice before we all met up together and headed down to Midway Mania.
After that we all headed to Cars Land to use our fast passes.  Allie didn't want to go so Tony took her on Luigi's and then he and Josh went on the ride after.  The rest of us the headed over to get into line to see the Frozen show.  Tony and Josh then met up with us in line right when we were about to go up into the theater.  Perfect timing.
We all then enjoyed the show.  They changed it a little bit from the last time we saw the show.  Josh laughed out loud at many of the parts and it was fun to see Allie enjoyed her favorite show made live.  We all loved the show.

Dinseyland - Tinker Bell

Tinker Bell was a big hit with Megan and Allie.  I was taking them to meet up with the boys and Margie when I saw that the line for Tinker Bell wasn't very long so we parked the stroller and got in line.
I texted Tony and after they got off the ride they were on he came and met me and the girls while Margie took the boys on the ride again.
Tinker Bell was super nice.  She asked the girls funny questions about things that she "Tinker Bell" didn't know about.  She was super cute with them.
The boys and Margie found us right when we were finishing up with Tinker Bell so we tried to get Tyler to come get a picture with her, but he got all red and shy and wouldn't do it.  It was super funny.

Disneyland - Finishing off Toon Town

Tony took Tyler, Josh, and Megan on the roller coaster in Toon Town while I took Allie to the play area (Margie went to the restroom).
After Allie played lots we made it just in time to see them get on the ride and take some pictures.  They all had fun on the ride and I was glad to get pictures of it.  Of course Tyler and Josh rode by themselves, because they can...and they are so big.  Good times in Toon Town!

Disneyland - Allie in Toon Town

While Tony and the older kids went on the roller coaster in Toon Town I let Allie play in the little play area.  She loved it and had so much fun.  She ran all over, went down the slid a bunch of times, climbed on all the play things, and then when she had enough of that we went and found the cars for her to play in.
She liked playing in each car and then we even got pictures in the trolley car.  She had a great time while the kids were on he roller coaster.

California Adventure - Mickey Mouse

Mickey was hanging out in California Adventure and we wanted to see him.  We got in line but then the worker said that Mickey had to go soon to get ready for his Newsie's show.
He did tell us that we would be able to get quick pictures with Mickey before he left so we decided that was a good idea.
The three older kids all gave Mickey a big hug and then posed for pictures.  I even gave Tony the camera and got in the picture with Mickey.  Never too old for Mickey.  Allie didn't want to get out of the stroller so after the older three got their pictures taken Mickey walked by and tickled Allie.  She told me after we walked away that Mickey tickled her.  It was adorable.
