Disney Vacation 2021 - Day 7: Disneyland

On Thursday we started at Disneyland and stayed there all day.  We started this day with going on the Matterhorn first.  It is Megan's favorite ride and we hadn't gone on it the other two days because it was either too long of wait or the ride was down.  Allie didn't want to on this ride so we did the rider switch where I stayed off with Allie and then once the others were off the ride then I got go on the ride with two other people.  So we made sure that Megan got to go again.  She loved it.

We got to go on Rise of Resistance again this day and many other rides.  The weather was a lot warmer this day, but we didn't mind too bad.  The lines weren't super long on most rides and we all had a wonderful time.  We decided to look for and buy some of our souvenirs this night.  We also were able to take family pictures by the Mickey pumpkin.  It was a good day and we had lots of fun.

Disney Vacation 2021 - Day 6: Laundry, Movie, & Swimming

We all really needed a break for our poor legs and feet so having our free day on Wednesday was perfect.  After we ate breakfast, Margie and I started our laundry.  I wanted the kids to get lots more homework done this day, so they worked on that while we did the laundry.

After we did all the laundry and the kids got most of their work done, we went to the movies.  Tony found a luxury theater with cheap tickets for the show we wanted see, The Jungle Cruise.  We decided to just have our lunch be popcorn, so we got loaded up on popcorn and treats.  We almost had the theater all to ourselves, just one other person who sat at the very top row.  We all really like the movie and had fun in our fancy seats.

After the movie it was swimming time.  We went back to the hotel and got changed into our swimsuits.  The pool was tons of fun.  The water felt nice, and we had fun playing with the pool toys we had brought.  We decided to do pizza for dinner so after Tony was done swimming he got showered and then went to pick up dinner.  The kids still wanted to swim so we ate the pizza at a table that was down by the pool.  After we ate the kids swam some more while Margie and I went upstairs to go shower and get ready for bed and Tony stayed with the kids.

After they swam for another hour or so Tony brought them upstairs so they could get showered and ready for bed.  We all ate our left-over Joe's ice cream (except Tony and Tyler who finished theirs each time).  I gave Tyler the rest of mine and Tony walked over to the restaurant next door and got him a shake.  We then went to bed excited for another day at Disney.

Disney Vacation 2021 - Day 5: California Adventure & Disneyland

On Tuesday we had our reservation for California Adventure.  They wanted to start out riding Guardians of the Galaxy.  I don't like that ride and Allie did not want to go on it, so we headed to Luigi's ride.  It was Megan's first time on that ride, and she was pretty nervous.  But she rode the ride and did good.  She said she didn't really like it, but she was brave.

Allie and I rode Mater, then we saw that Luigi's was down, so we rode Mater again.  After riding it twice Tony called and said they were done and to meet at Luigi's.  Luckily it was just about to open again so we were able to all ride Luigi's together.

After we went to Pixar Pier to go on Midway Mania.  We all love that ride.  After we wanted to all go on the Incredicoaster together as a family.  Megan and Allie had never ridden the ride and they were both very nervous.  The line was short, and we quickly were able to load on the ride.  Allie started crying and Megan was close to tears.  The worker asked Allie if she was okay, and Allie said she did not want to go on the ride.  The worker told me that if a child says that they can't make them go on the ride, so we had to get off.  When Megan saw Allie and I get off the ride she then started crying and decided to get off too.  So, that wasn't much fun.  I was feeling very frustrated that we had to get off and hold up all the people who were wanting to go on the ride.  So, I took them off and let them go on the carousel.  Looking back, I never should have tried to make them go on that ride.  It is big and fast.  I need to be patient and let them do it when they are ready.

I was able to go on that ride with Tony and the boy and I even thought that it was a super-fast ride and didn't really like it.  We then went on lots of fun rides and the girls were very brave and tried new things that weren't quite so big and scary.  We enjoyed the park until about 3:00 when it started getting busy with people who were there for the Halloween Party night.  So, we left and went over to Disneyland.

We got in the virtual queue this day for the Rise of the Resistance (the new Star Wars ride) and it was almost our time.  We were able to ride that ride and we all really liked it, except Megan.  They pretend shot at us and Megan didn't like that.  But besides that it was super fun.  We rode more rides in Disneyland and ate dinner at the Mexican Restaurant.  We did a few more things before the park started getting really busy with all the people who had to leave California Adventure at 6:00.  Once it got so busy we decided to go home.  Our feet and legs were hurting and we were done.

That walk to the car was long and hard, but we did it.  We were early enough to stop and get Joe's.  It's one thing that makes leaving the park early worth it.  We got our goods and went back to the hotel.  A few of us then went down to the hot tub and enjoyed a hot soak on our achy legs and feet.  It was wonderful.

Disney Vacation 2021 - Day 4: Disneyland

Monday was our first day at Disneyland.  We had no problems parking but quickly found out that they were not running their tram service from the parking garage to the park entrance so we would have to walk.  We followed some other people who seemed to know a good way to go, and I think that saved us a little bit of time.

We had our reservation for Disneyland to start.  We started at Splash Mountain.  We love that there is no lines in the mornings and we are able to go multiple times in a row.  We all went as a family for the first ride.  Allie did not like the big drop so she only wanted to go once.  So I took Allie on the Pooh ride while the others went on Splash Mountain again.  We were actually able to go twice on Pooh.  Luckily for me I like Pooh and enjoy riding it with my littles.

We continued the day with riding tons of fun rides.  The park was a lot busier then we thought it was going to be for a Monday.  We ate lunch in Frontier land and were able to get on a lot of rides without having to wait too long.  I think most rides were 20-45 minutes.  It was different not having Fast Passes, but we were able to watch the line times and choose our rides based on that.

I was worried about having to wear a mask in the park, but it really wasn't too bad.  We had to wear them inside buildings but that is all.  So, if the ride was all outside, we didn't have to wear a mask.  So most of the time we didn't have a mask on but we had them ready to put on when needed.  I thought that was fair and totally do able.

We ate at the Plaza for dinner.  We always like the food there and it was easy to find a seat for us.  Because of Covid we couldn't meet with the characters up close or ask for autographs but they did come out so that we could take pictures with them in the back ground.  Some were closer then others.  It was still fun to see them and the kids liked getting pictures with them.

We stayed the latest on Monday because we were trying to get on the new ride in Star Wars land.  We found out about 9:00 pm that we wouldn't be making in on that ride, so we decided to call it a night and go back to the hotel.  It was a fun day and we were all tired and ready for our beds.
