Cousin Time!

It has been so nice having Nate and Amy's family here for Christmas.  We have been trying to spend as much time as possible with them.  On Tuesday I took the boys over to Grandma's house for a sleepover and we picked up the girls for a sleepover at our house.

Our stake did a movie night for the primary kids and there were extra seats, so we were able to take all the girls and Tony and myself.  We watched the Grinch Movie.  They provided popcorn and soda.  We all had a great time and got a picture by the big Christmas tree outside the mall.

Josh got to spend a couple nights at grandma's house playing the Nintendo Switch with Matt.  They got a long so well and played all day together.  I was really happy that those two found something that they have in common.  They haven't had that in the past and it was great to see them playing together.

Lydia and Cora got to sleep over at our house again the night before they left.  The girls loved playing with each other and mostly got along well.  Megan and Lydia loved every minute that they had together.  I love seeing them love each other so much.  They are bestest friends and bestest cousins.

We took them back to Margie's the next morning to get them ready to see Amy's family.  We made sure and took pictures before they left.  Family time is the best.  We loved spending time with Nate and Amy and the kids.

Clark Family Christmas Party

We had the Clark family Christmas party after Christmas this year because we were waiting to do the party for Julie's family to come.  But the weather made it so that Julie and her family couldn't make it here.  So, we had the party without the Sutherland's.  It was low key and felt different with so little people.
Kevin's family came from Logan before a storm, so they were pretty stressed when they got to my parents.  Also, they were driving down to St. George the next day to meet up with the Sutherland's, so they seemed like they had a lot going on.  Rich was sick so it was just Sherri and Graham.  It was fun, but totally different from years past.  Hopefully next year it will feel better.

Cora's Baptism with Nana

Cora got baptized by Grandpa Lloyd while they were in town and Nana was able to come.  It was fun to see Cora get baptized and super great that Nana was there.  I couldn't give up the opportunity to take a family picture with Nana before Tony took her back to her place.  I am so glad that she likes Tony to pick her up and take her home.  We've been lucky to spend extra time with her in the car while taking her to and from her place.

Christmas Day Fun

We had a great Christmas.  We enjoyed watching the kids open their presents.  We enjoyed the morning at our house playing before going to the Steenblik's for more presents and lunch.  After we went to the Clark's for their presents and then dinner.  It was a fun relaxing day.  It wasn't a white Christmas, but it was a white day after Christmas, and that was pretty awesome.

Christmas Eve Party

We had another great Christmas Eve party at Margie's house.  We were lucky to have all the cousins together.  It was a good party and even better after party when the kids all got their Christmas jammies.

Lunch Date with High School Friends

I was able to meet up with some of my friends from high school for lunch.  It was nice seeing them and getting caught up with what they are doing.  We didn't have a high school friend party again this year.  A little because of Covid, but I think mostly just because it just didn't get planned.  We are hoping to get together more often with us ladies.  Life gets busy with everyone going their different directions, but it's nice when we can make it happen.

Mutual at the Aquarium

For mutual the boys wanted to go to the Aquarium, and they invited the moms to come with them.  The girls got to sleep at Grandma Margie's house the night before so the boys and I could go to the aquarium in the morning.

The aquarium isn't very big, so we were able to go through the whole thing in about an hour and a half.  After the aquarium we all went over to Chuck-a-Rama for lunch.  It was a really nice time spent with Tyler and Josh and other families from our ward.

Last Indoor Soccer Games

Allie and Megan had their last indoor soccer game yesterday.  Allie started the game playing goalie.  I was concerned that she was just going to be scared of the ball and struggle, but it was quite the opposite.  She wasn't scared at all and did a really good job going after the ball and even stopped a couple shots.  I was a proud mama.

Megan played really good as well.  She played defense the first half of the game and then played midfield the second half.  She went after the ball and stayed back when needed.  She has played defense most of the season, so it was extra fun to see her play a different position and go after the ball more.  It was another proud mama moment.  It was fun to watch her, and she enjoyed this season of indoor soccer.

Frost Christmas Program

The kids were able to sing a couple songs in the school's Christmas program.  Tony was able to take the day off and come to the program (that made it extra special for the kids).  They all did a great job and looked super cute.  It was so nice to have this program back this year and feel like things are more back to normal.

SNOW DAY!!!

It snowed a good 10 inches overnight, so the school district decided to have the kids stay home and do a distant learning day.  The kids love the snow and love playing in it.  The boys and Megan were big helps getting the driveway shoveled.

Tony had a hard time getting to work this morning.  He got stuck getting out of our driveway.  He was able to shovel his car out and get it moving around the corner in front of our house before he got it stuck again.  He tried to shovel it out again, but it didn't work this time.  So, Tony waited it out until a plow came in front of our house a little before 6:00 am.  After the plow came by Tony was able to shovel his car out and get it onto the plowed road.  It was quite the early morning adventure.

We hope to have a lot more days like this.  Not only do we desperately need the snow, but it is beautiful and fun to play in.  And the kids like that they always get yummy hot chocolate after playing in the snow.

Kitchen Update

Tony and I wanted to redo the floor in our kitchen.  We figured we might as well fix up our walls while we changed out the flooring.  We decided to paint and add Waynes Coting to the wall to help protect them from the table and chairs.  Tony just needs to add the corner round to the bottom of the cabinets and then we are done with this project.  It is nice having it mostly done and having our kitchen and dining room back to normal.

Frost Holiday Family Night

The kids elementary had a family holiday night last night.  They had a reading corner, craft corner, scavenger hunt, and cookies and milk.  Tyler stayed home playing on the computer with a new friend he met in seminary.  The rest of us had fun doing the activities and seeing friends.

Tyler is a December Lancer Spotlight

Tyler was recognized at school from his math teacher as a student who was Thoughtful, Empowered, or Connected.

He has really been enjoying high school.  He is getting good grades and meeting lots of new friends.  We are proud of what a great young man he is.

Thanksgiving Getaway: Day 7 - Drive Home

We decided to set our alarms for 5:30 am and get on the road early.  We were able to be in the car by 5:50 am.  The roads were not busy, and it was a nice drive home.  Teagan left around the same time that we did from my parents' house, so we met up in Elko for lunch.  The food was terrible, and Teagan thinks she got food poisoning from them, so we won't go back there again.  After lunch we drove the rest of the way home without any problems.  It was nice to get back home and unpack the car.  Time to get ready for Christmas.

Thanksgiving Getaway: Day 6: Girls Day

Wendy wanted to take the girls to get pedicures and manicures.  She let us old ladies tag along and even paid for our pedicures.  We all had a great time getting our nails done together, but the little girls had an amazing time.  I had taken Megan with me once to my pedicure appointment and let her get her toes painted, but she got the full treatment this day with Allie too.

After getting our nails done Wendy wanted to go to See's Candy.  She let the girls customize a box of chocolates for each of them.  They felt super spoiled and had such a great time being spoiled by their auntie Wendy.

After chocolates we all went to lunch at the golf course.  The little girls sat at one table and us adult ladies sat right next to them.  The food was good, and we all had a great time.

After lunch we went back to Wendy's house where she then did the girls makeup.  Wendy has an amazing bathroom with a counter full of fun make-up.  Wendy always does her makeup so well, so I thought she might like to do the girls make-up.  Wendy did such a great job and the girls looked so good.  They loved getting all their make-up done and felt so pretty.

After they were all done up, we then went on a golf cart and four-wheeler ride to see all the animals.  They wanted to show the animals their pretty make-up.  It was a pretty ride, and we had a lot of fun.  I love driving Wendy's four-wheeler and Julie is nice to ride with me.

Tony and the boys spent the morning with all the other boys playing Frisby golf.   After they were done, they got lunch at Mod Pizza.  Then they came back to Wendy's house.  Tony then was able to relax and watch football.  Then the boys worked on the movie that they were all making together.  After we were all done, we loaded up the cars and went to eat dinner at Julie's house.  We stopped at her office and got a couple Veteran's United shirts before going to her house.  They had a nacho bar for everyone and after we ate, we watched the BYU football game while the kids' played games and shot more scenes for their movie.

We went back to Wendy's at half time and got the kids put to bed.  We watched the rest of the game before going to bed.  I had the car mostly packed up earlier that day so we wouldn't have much to do the next morning before leaving for home.  It was a great day filled with family awesomeness!
