Nauvoo Trip 2024: Day 5 - Nauvoo Temple: Endowments & Baptisms

The adults woke up bright and early on Tuesday morning to do an endowment session.  The temple was about 25 minutes from our hotel.  The temple is beautiful.  We were the first session of the morning, so we had to wait a few minutes to get into the changing room.  We got changed and met in the chapel.  The session was lovely.  We changed rooms like three times and each room was so pretty.  They had on the sign language video, and it was very entertaining to watch.
After the session we enjoyed the celestial room for a while before getting changed back into our church clothes.  We were able to see the Assembly Hall and that was cool.  The temple worker that I talked to about the Assembly Hall said that we should take the elevator up to the 5th floor and check out the sealing rooms.  So, we did, and they were beautiful.  We then walked down spiral staircase to the bottom floor.  It was a nice extra tour of the temple.  We then took some pictures in front of the temple before going back to our hotel to eat breakfast, change, and then take the kids to go back to Nauvoo.
Later this same day we took the three older kids to do baptisms in the temple.  Margie and Allie did a little shopping while we were in the temple.  Lloyd also came and was a witness to the baptism.  We were able to just bring our church clothes with us and they have a little building in front of the church that we went to change into church clothes.  They then took us over to the temple and down to the baptismal area.  They had us wait in the chapel for a member of the temple presidency to come talk to us.  After he shared some information about the stained glass in the font area, then we all went and got out clothes and got changed.  We were then ready to do the baptisms.  The font was really big and shallow.  We were told that the early saints used to do up to four baptisms at a time and that's why it is so big.  We thought that was cool information.
Tyler really wanted to baptize me, and Megan wanted Tony to baptize her.  So, Tyler baptized Josh and then me and Tony baptized Tyler and then Megan.  Tyler said he felt the spirit extra strong when he was baptizing me, and it was super special for both of us.
After we got changed, we were able to get confirmed for our family members.  Then we left to take a picture outside of the temple.  We then got changed back into our street clothes and Margie and Allie came back and got us.  It was such a neat experience, and we were all really glad that we did it.
