More Walks

This morning we went on a nice walk.  Tyler and Megan went on a bike ride while Josh, Koda, and I walked with Allie scooting around in front of us.
It is nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine before it gets too hot.

New Playground

Lloyd and Margie had their drive way redone so the girls and I went over to watch all the fun action.  The girls played a lot in the back yard and colored some inside.
We went on a walk around the neighborhood to check out the new road that was put in and then came back on the Jordan River Parkway.
The girls really wanted to check out the new playground that was put in at the park.  The last cement truck had just gotten to grandma's house so we watched them unload the truck before we took them to the park.
The girls loved the new playground and Margie and I loved walking around on the new soft squishy flooring on the playground area.
We got hot pretty quick and went back to the house to get a drink and watch them do some more of the driveway.  They did such a good job and it looked so good.  We had a good day hanging out with grandma and grandpa and watching the driveway get built.

Tyler's Red Carpet Award

Tyler received an award from the Jr High for high Citizenship.  They had the parents drop off the kids in front of the school on the far side, then the kids walked down the sidewalk towards the front of the school with teachers and councilors clapping and cheering for the students.  We drove down the bus lane watching Tyler walk by his teachers and then he received his award at the front door where they took his picture.
It was a very different awards night then they would normally do, but I thought they did a great job celebrating the kids and keeping their "social distancing".
After we let Tyler choose where we went to dinner.  He picked Texas Roadhouse.  This was our first time that we have eaten out inside a restaurant since we went to Texas Roadhouse for Tyler's birthday in March.  It was nice to get out and feel a little more normal.  They did have every other table closed so that people aren't sitting next to each other.  The servers all wore masks and gloves.  But the food was good and we had a good time getting out celebrating the end of the school year.  Woohoo!!!

End of School Year and Teacher Parade

Today was our last day of school for this school year.  We returned the Chrome Books that we borrowed from the school and got some summer work from Allie's teacher.  We also found out who the kids have for teachers for next year, so that was fun.  I did request a different teacher for Josh in hopes that he can have the same teacher that Tyler had.  I guess we will see.
Yesterday the teachers and staff at the elementary did a parade around the neighborhood to say goodbye to all the kids.  I had two families from the ward come to our house to see the parade.  They weren't going by their houses so they came to ours.  They started in front of our house and then ended at the side of our house.  We let the kids play in the back yard and on their bikes while we waited for the parade to come back around.  It took a lot longer then I thought it would, but it was nice to chat with Jenni and Laraine while we waited.  I was still feeling woozy and light headed so even though it was a good time, I was ready to go inside and rest after.  It was a crazy way to end the school year, but we are so thankful for the teachers and how they handled the situation.  We are all happy not to have to worry about getting school work done and now we can relax!

Sinus Surgery

I have been suffering from chronic sinus infections.  I have been on 3 different antibiotics just this year for sinus infections.  My ENT doctor said that the infections aren't going away with the antibiotics and said I needed to get sinus surgery to solve the problem.
Dr. Hill told me this a month or so ago but the government had closed all non essential surgeries because of the Covid-19 outbreak.  They wanted all medical personal and their protective gear to go to all the Covid cases.  Once they realized that we were good and the hospitals were not over run with Covid people they opened back up to do surgeries.
So about two weeks after they opened for surgeries I was able to get in for my sinus surgery.
I did have to get tested to make sure I did not have Covid-19.  Tony took me to the drive up testing place downtown.  We got signed in and then we pulled up into the stall under a white tent.  We waited our turn before a nurse (in full protective gear) came to my window.  She gave me some information about Covid-19 but realized that I didn't look or seem sick.  I told her I was just getting tested because I was getting surgery.  So then I had to sit on my hands while she stuck a really long Q-tip up my nose and then rubbed it in there for 10 seconds.  It made my eyes tear up.  After it felt like I had pool water that had gone up my nose and kind of burned. I was glad that was over.
They called me on Tuesday as Tony was driving me to the hospital to tell me I was negative.  That was good because I was already on my way.  Because of Covid-19 Tony was not able to come into the hospital with me at all.  I had to call a number when we got their and a nurse came out and got me.  It was sad to leave Tony and go by myself, but it had to be done.
The nurse took me to get signed in to the same day surgery office and I was the only patient in the room.  Maybe part of that was that my surgery was so late in the day (I checked in at 1:15).  After I checked in a nurse came and got me all checked out before taking me to my room.  I then changed into my gown and waited for the nurse.  The nurse got my IV in and I sat in silence waiting for my doctor and anesthesiologist.  After they came in the anesthesiologist wheeled me back to surgery.  He was super nice and talked to me about everything.  I got on the table and they put me out. After surgery I woke up in recovery.  I was sleepy but not in too much pain.  I heard the nurse call Tony and tell him what was going on.  They then took me into my room to continue to recover.
I was really tired and lonely, but I eventually woke up enough to get dressed and get wheeled down to Tony who was waiting for me in the car.  It was about 7:30 so it was a pretty long process.  I wasn't in too much pain and I didn't feel nauseous at all, so that was really good. Mostly sleepy.
I slept in the reclining chair the first night.  It was a long night and I did not sleep well.  But I was able to take a couple naps the next day.  It has been a long recovery and my head has really hurt.  It has felt like the worse sinus infection ever.  So much pain and pressure in my head.  Lots of bloody discharge from my nose and sinuses.  But each day is a little better.  This has been a painful process and an expensive one so I am really hoping this solves a lot of the problems that I have been having.  It'll all be worth it, right!?!

Walking the Babies

The girls wanted to take their babies for a walk in their strollers.  I figured, why not?  So we packed up the babies and went for a walk.
The girls loved it.  We had our waters and stopped for water breaks and to fix the babies.  It was pretty adorable.  We have now done this a couple of times and it is a nice way to break up the days.

Birthday Party at the Clark's

It was so nice getting out of the house and spending time with family. We celebrated my parents birthdays.  We ate yummy food and played fun games with the family.  A good time was had by all.

Cousin Fun and Watching the Jets

Betsy needed to go to a doctor's appointment here in Salt Lake so they dropped off their kids at our house before their appointment.
They brought some pizza for everyone and then headed out.  While they were away the jets flew by our house to say Thank You to the health care workers.
The girls had so much fun playing with each other and the boys had fun playing outside on bikes and scooters.  It was nice having visitors and other kids to play with...and super cool to see the jets fly by.
