Charleston - Day 3: Downtown Charleston/Calhoun House

On our last day in town we did a bit of a walking tour around downtown to see some more of the historical sites.  We went into a museum and looked around the gift shop, but didn't go into the actual museum.  We got the idea.
After that we walked to the Calhoun house where we did do the tour in that house.
This is a really big and old house where a family lives in the house but lets people come and tour it during the day.  The owner has a huge collection of antiques and collectables that he stores in the house and shares with tourist.  It was stuffed full of tons of antiques from all around the world.  I could imagine living in that house but it was interesting to go through it.
After our tour we walked around some more before finding where we wanted to go to lunch.  We found a good local place that had good reviews.  There was a wait to be seated so we went across the street where there was a really old government building with cool steps in front of it.
We sat on the steps and chatted while enjoying the view of the water and the city.  After we waited our time we went back to the restaurant to get our seats.
The food was all really good.  The adventurous eaters got oysters in the shell and ate them.  Julie and I had chicken.  Then they ordered two desserts to share.  I joked we the waiter that they wouldn't give me a fork or let me eat any of the food so when he brought the dessert he put them both in front of me.  It was pretty funny.
