Birthday Party at the Clark's

Betsy needed to go to a doctor's appointment here in Salt Lake so they dropped off their kids at our house before their appointment.
They brought some pizza for everyone and then headed out. While they were away the jets flew by our house to say Thank You to the health care workers.
The girls had so much fun playing with each other and the boys had fun playing outside on bikes and scooters. It was nice having visitors and other kids to play with...and super cool to see the jets fly by.

First Water Fun of the Season
I told the kids when the weather got to 80 degrees then they could play in the water. They were so excited when they saw the weather report and saw the 80's.
They wanted to have squirt guns at first and then I got out sprinkler attachments for the hose. We have a couple different ones so we took turns with each one to see what they liked the best.
The older kids liked the bigger sprinkler that got them more wet, but Allie did not like that one. She only liked the little one that only squirted out a little water.
So we took turns with the different sprinklers in different places on the lawn. I don't like to waste water by having the water on the same spot the whole time. The kids seemed to like going from the back yard to the front. They love the water and had a great time. Now they are asking when we can get out the pool. It's gotta be at least 90 degrees for that one.

More Homeschooling Fun
For FHE we decided to go and chalk the grandparents. We went to the Clark's first and after we chalked their walks we visited with them for a little while. The kids played in the yard and we checked out their new garden.
After we went to the Steenblik's. We weren't quiet enough so they caught us in the act of chalking. We did visit with them for a little bit and then went home. It was nice getting out of the house and hopefully we brought cheer to the grandparents.
The kids have had lots of time to snuggle and play with Koda while we have been "staying home, staying safe". I think that Koda likes all the attention but he definitely has been acting different. It's like he knows something crazy is going on. He seems like he is more protective of us and our home. He seems to bark more at things and is more attentive. He is such a good dog and we love him. I took Megan in for her well-child visit with Dr. Eyre the other day. I had some concerns with her body odor that has been really bad for the past maybe 6 months. I didn't notice any other signs of puberty but I wanted her checked out.
Dr. Eyre said she didn't see signs of puberty and age 8 isn't too early to start puberty (crazy thought). She said we could run some tests to see if it is a sign of something else, but that she wasn't concerned. Megan did not want to get tested so we opted out of testing. So showers and deodorant will be what we do to help with the smelliness. Everything else looks good. She'd like her to eat more fruits and veggies and stay active. Good advice for us all, especially these days.

Easter 2020

Allie finding the good ones.
Megan was so nice to stop finding eggs to smile for a picture.
Eggs for everyone!
The kids after all the eggs were found. Those are some big smiles on their faces.
No More Training Wheels
Megan's bike was a little too small for her to be riding. We had her try Josh's bike to see if that would work for her and it was perfect. So we had Josh try Tyler's bike and that worked for him. So it was time to get a new bike for Tyler and move Allie up to Megan's bike.
Tony didn't want to put training wheels on the bigger bike so it was time to teach her to ride without them. She was excited to try and learn but didn't want to try for very long the first time. She wanted to try again a couple days later and did much better. She was better balanced and did it all by herself. She still didn't want to ride for very long and that is okay. She is such a fun kid and will ride her bike more when she wants to.

Field Trip to the Clark Zoo
We went to my parents the other day to see the duckies and play in their backyard. The weather was so nice. My parents went up to the cabin so we had the place to ourselves.
We checked on the chicken, we pet the (smelly) ducks, jumped on the tramp, played on their playground equipment, and even got out the four wheeler and rode it around the backyard.
It was so nice to get out of the house and in the sunshine. It would have been nice to chat with my parents, but we had a great time with just us. We may have to do that again.

Masks
Our relief society president (Sister Thompson) made a bunch of extra masks so I got some from her to give to our older neighbors. The girls really wanted some too so I let them pick some out. They thought it was so much fun to wear them and insisted on wearing them while they did their homework. I am so glad that they can see the bright side of this crazy situation that we are all in.
Super Moon
The other night we had a super moon and it was so cool. It was the biggest it gets the whole year and it was so clear and pretty.
The kids loved getting out the blankets and sitting on the lawn watching the moon. They didn't last too long just sitting there, but they did enjoy running around and having fun in the moon light.
