When we planned our trip to California I knew that Josh would miss his last baseball game but because of rain he is going to miss two games.
We are kind of bummed about that, but that's okay. Josh had a really good time playing baseball this season and wants to play again. He had a great coach and the other dads stepped up and helped a lot too. It was fun to watch him and I look forward to a lot more games!

Walking The Dogs
We are watching the dogs, Max and Sam again. We get them for about 2 weeks this time. They are pretty fun to have around and they really fill up our house with big white dogs.
We decided to take all the dogs and kids for a walk and it was a good time. The dogs did really good on their leashes and walked really good with us.
We had Tyler take Max and then Tony took Koda and Sam. I had Allie in the stroller to start off and then Megan joined us in the stroller about half way through the walk because she tired out.
Josh did really good on his scooter the whole walk. Tyler did really good holding Max and Max did really good staying right by Tyler.
It is always fun having the dogs, but it's also nice when they go home. Our house is just too small for three big dogs all the time. A couple weeks at a time is just perfect!

Tyler's Last Soccer Game of the Season
Since we will be in California during the actual last game we had the team get together for a team picture after today's game.
Tyler has played really good this season and is still really liking soccer. He has been practicing a lot at home and loves kicking the ball really far.
Tyler has scored multiple goals this season and has stopped a bunch too when he played goalie.
He still loves Tony being his coach and Tony enjoys it too. This team was fun to coach. The kids all got better as the season progressed and Tyler got to play with Noah who used to live in our neighborhood. I really enjoyed chatting with Rachel (Noah's mom) during the games. We sure do enjoy soccer.

Josh's First Baseball Game
Josh had his first baseball game on Monday. He has had an interest in playing baseball for a few years, but has always chosen to play soccer instead.
Tony and I wanted him to wait to play baseball until first grade so that he could do coach pitch instead of t-ball. T-ball is just so slow moving and I didn't want him to get super bored with it and then think all baseball was boring.
Josh has a couple really good coaches and a few players who have already played before so that makes for a pretty good team.
Josh likes to hit the ball so we got him a bat and balls last Christmas and he's done a lot of practice with that, but we haven't done much with catching the ball. We will need to practice that more with him.
Josh hit the ball the first time up and the first pitch. Then he didn't really try to hit it the second time because (he told me later) he wanted to hit it off the t. Silly guy. I told him the t was for babies and he needs to try his hardest to hit the ball that is pitched to him. He listened to me and the next time he was at bat he hit the ball again.
He still is learning all the rules and what to do in the different positions but I think he will get it. It is fun to watch him learn this new sport and break away from Tyler's shadow on the soccer field. I hope that he sticks with it and loves to play.
Tyler, Megan, and even Allie at times had fun playing with all the other kids. Tyler climbed trees and played catch with some girls (oo-la-la), Megan made instant friends with a bunch of little girls and had no problem "sharing" their snacks and toys. Allie mostly hung out with Tony, Margie, and I eating the snack that I brought. But towards the end she did get adventurous and ran around with a little boy. We all had such a good time, Go JOSH!!!

HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY JOSH!!!
Josh is now 7 years old, I can't believe it. Josh is turning into a very nice, polite, sweet, hansom, smart young man. He is still our silly boy who loves to laugh out loud and have fun. He is such a good student. He loves school and is well behaved for his teachers. He is still in speech therapy and is getting better all the time. He still needs lots of work, but he is good at putting in the time to get better.
Josh loves Tyler so much. He is his best friend. He loves playing with him and wants to be like him in many ways. He also loves helping Allie and feels super special when Allie chooses him to help her or hold her hand. He loves Megan too and they like to dance together.
Josh is growing great and really likes baseball. We love our Josh so much and feel lucky that he's in our family!

Josh Lost his Front Tooth
I finally got this tooth out! Josh's tooth has been a loose for a few weeks and the last couple days it has been REALLY loose but one part of the roots was still holding on strong. Yesterday I tried twice by pulling straight down and it didn't work. Josh didn't want me to try again so I told him that I would try again tomorrow (which was today). So this morning when I was helping the kids brush their teeth I said I just wanted to try one time. This time I was going to twist and pull. This was the trick (silly me I knew I should have twisted before) and it came right out.
Josh started crying a bit and then I showed him his tooth. He stopped crying right away and was so happy that it was out. We can see his adult tooth starting to come in through the hole and the other tooth is also loose. Something about loosing teeth is so much fun...at least for me since I get to be the one who pulls them.

Fun at the Park
Allie and I went on a walk around the neighborhood yesterday after we dropped the kids off at school.
When we would get to a cross road I let Allie choose which way we would go. She had us cross 3600 south and we walked around a neighborhood I had not walked through in a few years. It was a nice change from where we normally walk.
While we were in that neighborhood we walked by Wheatland Park and she wanted to play. So we stopped and played on the playground for a while. She had lots of fun, but she didn't want to go down any of the slides. I thought that was odd. I don't know if she is a little afraid of them. She goes down the slide at the school playground.
She had fun either way and really liked rocking out on the motorcycle and rhino seats. She started out needing me to lift her on and off of them, but quickly figured out how to do it herself. She is getting way too big!

Family Birthday Party for Josh and Allie
We had our families over today to celebrate the birthdays of Josh and Allie. It is so nice having my kids birthdays within a few weeks of each other so that we can do a combined family party.
I figure this works out good for the extended family too because then they just have to squish into my small house two times a year versus four times. Someday we will have a bigger house...
Josh was so excited for the party. Allie didn't really know what was going on. She did notice the presents and was very interested in seeing what they were. Megan really wanted to help Allie open her presents, but Allie really didn't want Megan's help. This party was hard on Megan. She really wanted it to be her birthday and her presents. Kids gotta learn sometimes not everything is about them.
I asked Josh if he wanted cake and ice cream first or open presents first. Silly questions, of course he wanted to open presents first. I thought about having them take turns opening but Allie was super slow so we pretty much just let Josh go with just little rests.
Both Josh and Allie loved all of their gifts. Our family is very generous and these kids were very spoiled as usual. All of the presents were prefect and Tyler and Megan were excited to help play with them.
Having new toys in the house is always fun for all the kids. They got some new magnatiles, critter toys, books, Pikachu toy, Legos, and more. I know that all the kids will have so much fun playing with all the toys. Luckily even Tyler isn't too old to play with the little kid toys. It'll be sad when they are older and no longer want toys.
After presents we got the cake out and sang Happy Birthday to the birthday kids. I tried to get a picture with Josh and Allie but Allie did not want to stand in front of the cake for some reason.
Last week at Margie's house she put a little candle in Allie's dessert and Allie did not like it at all. She totally cried, it was a little odd. So earlier Today Tony and I got out a little candle and we practiced blowing it out. Allie got pretty good after a while and we thought she would do great when the time came. But when we brought in the cake with the candles, she cried. So after giving up on taking a picture with her and Josh I held her and she calmed down. After she stopped crying she was able to blow out her candle and she did good.
Then it was cake and ice cream time. I was going to make cupcakes, but after Tyler's soccer game and mowing the lawn I decided I didn't really want to make them. So Tony went and picked up a cake at Sam's Club. It was yummy.
After we ate we chatted for a while before people had to leave. Then Grandma Margie and Grandpa took us all out to dinner for Josh, Allie, and Brennen's birthdays. We decided to go to The Cracker Barrell. The food was good and we all had a good time.
After dinner we came back home to watch the BYU vs U of U football game. We had it recording. It was a crazy game and we ended up loosing by one point. What a fun day we had! We sure love our families!!!

Megan Cut Her Hair
Last night after I gave the girls a bath I went into the kitchen to comb Megan's hair. She was coloring at the table and as soon as I walked in I noticed a bunch of hair on the floor. I started to panic and called Tony in to see what had happened. He probably thought someone was bleeding with how I reacted.
Megan immediately started saying she was sorry and we took her in the front room to check out the damage. I took a comb and a big chunk of hair came out. That is when I started crying. Megan was still saying over and over that she was sorry..."Sorry Mama"...I gave her a big hug and told her it was just hair and that it would grow back.
I texted my friend from my ward who does hair and asked for help. She didn't get back to me until later that evening and she said that she would come and look at her hair before school started. So that's what we did. Heidi said it was worse then she thought and recommended cutting it.
So after preschool we went over to Heidi's house for the big cut. She started out just cutting it to her shoulders, but their were still lots of funky layers so she recommended cutting it even shorter. Their was a big chunk cut out the back/side that was really short and I would not let her cut it that short.
So now our Megan has short hair. She did really good sitting in the chair and doing what Heidi told her to. Megan said that she likes it and that Heidi did a good job. I hope her hair will be easier to do now and that Megan has learned her lesson about cutting hair!

Megan's First Day of Preschool
Megan started her first day of preschool today. Her last year of preschool before Kindergarten. I can't believe that in one short year she will be a kindergartner. That's nuts.
She went right in with her friend Bobbie and they washed their hands and sat down ready to eat their breakfast. She didn't even come to me for a hug, I had to ask her for one. She gave me a quick side hug and Allie and I were off.
No tears, like last year, just one happy girl. I am so proud of her. She is super excited to be the big kid in the class.
Now it's just Allie and I four days a week for three hours a day. What a treat for us to have quality time together. Then Megan and I get that time together while Allie naps. Just me and my girls during the day. Such a difference from when it was just me and my boys...wow, that feels like so long ago. I love my family!!!
