Josh's First Baseball Game

Josh had his first baseball game on Monday.  He has had an interest in playing baseball for a few years, but has always chosen to play soccer instead.
Tony and I wanted him to wait to play baseball until first grade so that he could do coach pitch instead of t-ball.  T-ball is just so slow moving and I didn't want him to get super bored with it and then think all baseball was boring.
Josh has a couple really good coaches and a few players who have already played before so that makes for a pretty good team.
Josh likes to hit the ball so we got him a bat and balls last Christmas and he's done a lot of practice with that, but we haven't done much with catching the ball.  We will need to practice that more with him.
Josh hit the ball the first time up and the first pitch.  Then he didn't really try to hit it the second time because (he told me later) he wanted to hit it off the t.  Silly guy.  I told him the t was for babies and he needs to try his hardest to hit the ball that is pitched to him.  He listened to me and the next time he was at bat he hit the ball again.
He still is learning all the rules and what to do in the different positions but I think he will get it.  It is fun to watch him learn this new sport and break away from Tyler's shadow on the soccer field.  I hope that he sticks with it and loves to play.
Tyler, Megan, and even Allie at times had fun playing with all the other kids.  Tyler climbed trees and played catch with some girls (oo-la-la), Megan made instant friends with a bunch of little girls and had no problem "sharing" their snacks and toys.  Allie mostly hung out with Tony, Margie, and I eating the snack that I brought.  But towards the end she did get adventurous and ran around with a little boy.  We all had such a good time, Go JOSH!!!
