Florida Trip - Day 6: Exploring Clearwater, FL

This morning we started with breakfast at the hotel.  It was good, but not as good as the other hotel.  After eating we got all ready to meet the Jolly Trolly.  We decided to ride the Jolly Tolly all around the city and then decided what we wanted to do from there.  We did have to switch to a different trolly to take us into downtown Clearwater.  That is where we saw the headquarters for the church of Scientology.  It was pretty dead down there and no reason for us to stop there.

After riding all around the city, we decided we wanted to go miniature golfing.  My dad didn't want to do that, so he went back to the hotel to rest while we went golfing.  A few couples in our group thought that Julie and I were pretty fun people, so they wanted to do what we did.  So, they came and did miniature golf too.

Mini golf was fun.  It wasn't busy, mostly the 11 of us from our group.  They had a lot of holes for us to play and it took us a lot longer than I thought it would.

After golfing we went next door and shared a banana split.  We were going to get panini's too, but they were taking way too long, so we stuck with the banana split.  It was really good.  After that Julie and my mom hopped on the trolly and went to the beach.  I decided I wanted to check out the gift shop next to the ice cream shop before meeting back up with them at the beach.

Once we were reunited at the beach we walked on the pier.  They had an awesome gift shop at the end of the pier, and I was surprised how reasonable the prices were.  I bought a shirt and a hat there.

We needed to get back to the hotel to get freshened up before dinner. We tried to catch the Jolly Trolley to take us back to our hotel, but it never came. We decided to just walk to the next stop and see if we saw the trolly coming. We did that for a couple of stops before we decided to walk all the way back to the hotel. Luckily, we were only about a mile away from the hotel, so the walk wasn't a big deal. We were mostly just hungry since we didn't eat a real lunch. But we made it back to the hotel and got freshened up for dinner.

We all loaded on the motorcoach which took us to the restaurant that was right on the water. There was nowhere for the bus to park, so Alex (the bus driver) took the bus back to the hotel and then a worker at the hotel brought him back on a golf cart. I was super jealous.

Alex joined our family for dinner after he got back from dropping off the bus. We had to tell the restaurant what we wanted in advance. I picked the chicken pasta, and it was really good. Julie suggested we get an appetizer, and it was really good too. We went out on the patio while the sun was setting, and it was so pretty. Julie and I went out on the deck a couple different times to enjoy the view. It was beautiful.

I told Alex that I thought it would be fun to go on the golf cart with him to get the bus. So, when it was time for him to go, he invited me to come with. It was so much fun riding in the cart around Clearwater to get back to the hotel. I then rode the bus back with Alex to get the rest of our group. It was such a lovely evening and the perfect way to end our lovely beach day in Clearwater.
