Girls Trip 2021 - Jackson, Wyoming: Day 1

We started our trip Tuesday morning with me picking up Julie and Wendy at the airport.  We then went to my parents house to pick up my mom, Teagan, and my Aunt Connie.  Since Betsy wasn't able to go my mom felt like she could invite Connie to come with us after Connie said she really wanted to go.  Hopefully Betsy can come in the future.

I was asked to drive my van for us to Jackson.  Julie was my navigator and co-pilot who kept me on the right track and well taken care of.  The drive was nice and easy.  We drove through Evanston, Wyoming.  That was our first bathroom/snack stop.  After that we stopped in Afton, Wyoming for lunch at a Mexican Restaurant.  That town had a fun antler arch like they have in Jackson.  We just had to get a picture by that beauty.

After lunch we drove the rest of the way to Jackson Lake Lodge.  My mom worked at the lodge over 50 years ago for two summers, so it was really fun to stay at the lodge and see some of the places that she stayed and worked so long ago.
After checking in and getting unpacked, we went down to the lobby area to check out the food areas and the view.  It was really smoky from all the surrounding fires so we really couldn't see Tetons very well.  The lake looked really low from the drought.  We were suppose to go on a lake cruise but couldn't because the water was so low.
My mom, Connie, and I had a boxed dinner on the patio and enjoyed the cooler weather and the lovely views.  Julie, Wendy, and Teagan ate at the restaurant later that night.  They tried to get us all reservations at the restaurant for the next night, but they were all booked.  I was bummed about that because I really wanted to eat at the restaurant, but that's life.  After dinner I walked around with the grandma's to check out the lodge and the surrounding areas.  It was cool seeing where my mom stayed when she worked there and hearing her stories.  That was pretty special to me.
