We woke up at 4:30 am (in Italy) so we could make our flight from Venice to London. Diana's brother-in-law drove us to the airport. It was so nice of them to work that out for us. We told them that we would get a taxi but they said that taxi's are hard to get and expensive so they would take us the airport. So nice.
We didn't have any problems at the Venice airport. It is small and didn't take us long to get to our gate. We even had time to gets some croissants for breakfast.
The flight went smoothly into London and we were to have a good four hours to get to our gate. It took us a long time to get through customs. So long in fact that they had taken our flight info from Italy off the luggage board so we had to then wait in another line to ask where our luggage was.
After we got our luggage we had to go to a different terminal to board our flight. Teagan's flight was leaving from the terminal that we were in so we parted ways and headed towards our terminal. It was a little confusing as to where to go and how to get there but we figured it out (without sitting down and crying - my mom may have wanted to do that). We got all checked into our flight and then got into another long line to go through security. Everything was taking much longer then we were expecting and we were a little nervous about making the flight in time.
We were able to go through all the security and still had time for some lunch. I was really hoping we would because we were all really hungry. After eating we found our gate and got all checked in there. There was so much security everywhere. We had to go through more security then I have even been through before.
When we were suppose to board they told us that our plane had mechanical issues and we would need a new one. So they had us change gates where our new plane would be and we had to go through even more security. My poor aunt Connie was randomly chosen to be checked and so she had to get checked at both gates. She was not happy about that. It was kind of embarrassing how she was acting and then my mom felt she needed to stick up for her sister by yelling at the airport employees. I was just thinking, "I am not staying in London if they hold you crazy women."
They didn't hold them and we were able to board our flight about an hour later then scheduled. The flight was pretty good. It was kind of bumpy and I had a hard time sitting for that long. I watched movies and got up a lot to stretch. I really just wanted to be home. And then I was. My dad was there to pick us up and he took me to Margie's house where my family was waiting. It was so nice to be home with my amazing husband and darling children.
It was a great trip that I am glad that I could do it with my mom, sister, and Aunt. What an adventure!
