Josh Got Tubes

Josh got tubes in his ears on Friday.  He had to be at the surgical center in the Avenues at 6:15 am.  His surgery was set for 7:30 am.  We decided Tony would take him and I would get Tyler to school and take care of Megan.  I didn't think that I would handle Josh having surgery (no matter how minimal) very well with how emotional I have been lately.
They gave Josh a Valium to calm him and then they just had to do some gas while they put in the tubes.  I was very glad that they didn't have to do an IV and put him out completely.  The surgery only took about 10-15 minutes.  The doctor said that Josh had a lot more fluid in his ears then he had previously thought.
Now we have to do drops in his ears three times a day and he is on yet another antibiotic for his ear infections.  After the doctor was done they let Josh just wake up on his own.  Tony said that he woke up crying, but once he saw Tony he was able to calm him down.  They gave Josh a slushy and he really liked that.  Tony was able to take him home about 9:00 am.  They said that Josh might be tired and just want to lay around all day, but nothing could have been further from how Josh behaved yesterday.  He was happy as could be and running around just as wild as usual.
He doesn't like the ear drops at all and cried every time we have to do them.  Luckily it was just Easter and we have lots of treats to bribe him with to make it easier.  It seems like he is already saying some things even better then he said them before...but it could just be all in my head.  Josh really liked his wrist band.  He kept showing us it all day saying he wanted to keep it on.  I was super happy that all went well with Josh and his procedure.  I am so thankful that Tony has the priesthood and was able to give him a father's blessing the night before.  We are hoping that he wont get another ear infection for a long while and he can stop being on medicine.
