I lost my job

I went into work this morning and attended our quarterly meeting where they announced that they were going to lay off 10% of their employees.  I started to panic right away.  I worked in a department that wasn't part of the main stream of the credit union.  We did a lot of reporting, and comparing us to other financial institutions, and making sure that accounts were opened correctly, etc.  So everyone in my department, except one, was let go.  I had worked for Deseret First for 5 years.  They were and are a good company to work for and I am really grateful that they let me work from home for the past 3 years so that I could be a full time mom.

It REALLY sucks loosing my job and it is going to be really hard now, but I know that Tony and I will make it and be fine.  I think that, for now, I am going to just stay home and we will be really poor.  I know that I can't find another job like I had and I really don't want to go back to a branch.

Right now we have many blessings that will get us through.  I really didn't think that they were going to lay people off, but I guess they had to do it.  I am just so sad about the things that my family will have to give up on now that I don't have the extra money coming in.  I guess I needed to learn humility and that is what I am learning.  But I have to admit...I am really bummed out right now.

I'm sorry...it did come as a big shocker!! I still can't believe it. Everything will work out. Just try to keep looking at the positives. :)

oh man! I am so sorry--that's a definite shock and am sad it had to come to an end. The one good thing, however, is that it's experiences like this that end up opening those windows of heaven and where blessings come pouring out. :) I suppose that's something to really look forward to...
hugs, hugs, hugs! LOVE YOU!

I know you posted this awhile ago, but I'm just catching up on my blog reading. Sorry to hear about the layoff. Are you guys doing ok? Need anything? We've had to layoff about 80 people from my work over the past year and it's never a fun process for all involved. Hopefully things in the economy start turning around. I hope you guys are doing good and if you need anything let me know!
