Spring Happenings

Some of the kids got to go to the temple with our new wards' young women.

Megan got some really cute earrings from Aunt Teagan for her birthday.  She loves them.

My mom and I have been enjoying going on our walks in the morning.  It's nice having her back from California.

I have been trying to walk to the Taylorsville temple at least once a week and it has been awesome.  It is just far enough of way to be a great workout, and I love the spirit I feel when I walk around the temple.  We are so blessed to live so close to the temple!
Brennen and his fiancĂ© Sammy got a dog.  His name is Hunny and they have brought him to dinner at grandma's a couple of times and we love him.  He is so soft and snuggly.

Softball Has Begun

Megan has been playing Spring Softball again.  Tony is coaching her team, and they are doing a great job.  Megan has been playing mostly first base and pitching.  But she also takes her turn in the outfield.  She has a lot of good friends on the team, and they are all having lots of fun. They are winning the majority of the games and having a good time doing it.  I love watching them both play and coach.

Beautiful Spring Walks

I have been walking a ton lately.  I have loved walking a couple miles after I walk the girls to school.  The weather is so cool and the blooms on the trees are amazing.  I love all the flowers that are starting to bloom as well.

After my walk, then I go get my mom and walk with her.  Then many days I come home and walk with my friend Becky during her lunch break.  It has been a great way to get tons of steps and feel super good about my exercising.

Spring Break 2026 - Day 5 & 6: Lunch & Sutter's Mill & Driving Home

This day we had a nice lunch together before going to Sutter's Mill.  They showed how they panned for gold back in the day and how some Mormon pioneers helped to start up the mill.  It was interesting, but not a lot to do.  We wonder if we came during the summer if they had more to do.  We were later in the day, so they could have had more earlier, like panning for gold.

After we got back to Julie's, we hung out with the family and then watched the rest of our movie that night.

The next morning, we woke up pretty early to get an early start on our drive home.  Luckily, we didn't have any problems driving home and it was a great Spring Break trip.

Spring Break 2026 - Day 4: Happy Easter

Happy Easter.  We watched General Conference in the morning.  Before that I made a breakfast casserole.  It was decent, but not my best one.

We had a yummy Easter dinner with my parents, Wendy, Ryan, Alex and his girlfriend, Jacob, and then Sherri and Graham came after we were done eating.

It was an amazing sunset this night that we could not resist enjoying and taking lots of pictures.  We talked a lot about flowers and gardening and then we watched a movie before going to bed.  A great day celebrating the resurrection and enjoying family.

Spring Break 2026 - Day 3: Gardening, Canal Hike, & Wiffle Ball

This morning started off nice and slow.  I helped Julie do some gardening and then we had some breakfast.
We then all went on a hike by the canal, and it was lots of fun.  Lot of good shade and adventure.
After we had some lunch and then played lots of wiffle ball at Julie's house.
I made some lasagnas for dinner for this night.  Wendy came over with Ryan and my parents came too.  I think it turned out yummy and we all had a good time hanging out with each other.

Spring Break 2026 - Day 1 & 2: Travel & Hidden Falls Hike

We started off our Spring Break kind of late in the day on Thursday.  The girls had rehearsal for the school play after school, so we had to wait for them to get done before we could go.

Once they were done, we pilled in the van and picked up some dinner that we ate in the car.  We then made our way to Wells where we were staying that night.

The next morning, we ate hotel breakfast and then drove to Auburn.  We met Julie and Kimball and my parents at a restaurant by their house for lunch.
After lunch we went to my parents' house and then to Julies.  We unpacked and then decided to go on a full hike to Hidden Falls.  It was such a fun hike, but it was a little hot.
After our hike we went back to Julie's house to house and ate dinner.  We enjoyed the evening relaxing, chatting, and watching the kids play.  Family time really is the best time.
