Thanksgiving Trip: Day 3 - Thanksgiving

After our walk we went back to my parents' house to help my mom with whatever she needed help with for Thanksgiving dinner.  We then took it all over to Julie's house.  I had made three chocolate pudding pies earlier that morning.
Once at Julie's we helped to get ready for dinner and to set everything up.  Gabe came and deep fried a turkey, such a fun tradition.  My mom had invited the missionaries in their ward to come and eat with us.  They were pretty chill and didn't say much but seem to have a good time.  They made up for Tyler and Logan being on their missions.
Once it was time and everyone was there, we sat down and enjoyed a yummy dinner. We sat outside even though it was pretty cold.  We all just wore our jackets and sat at a very long table.
The fog was so wild the whole time we were there this weekend.  It was so heavy at times, and you could see the moisture in the air.  It kept things very chilly and ended up being colder there then back at our house.  It was really having all of us siblings together.  Sherri was leaving the next morning, so we had to make sure at get our traditional sibling picture.

Thanksgiving Trip: Day 3 - Thanksgiving Morning

This morning, we all went to Wendy's house to see all the progress that has been made with her barn and yard.  It is looking pretty good.  Can't wait to see it all done.  It's going to look awesome. Kevin and Boyd and my parents stayed back to work on Thanksgiving dinner.
After playing with her doggies and checking out her property we then went to go for a walk at a cool park.  Teagan and Sam went to do get food, so they didn't join us for the walk.
It was pretty chilly and cloudy, so we all bundled up to go on the walk.  Sherri was still struggling with her toe issues, so she stayed back in her car.  It was nice to get in a good walk before eating a big Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving Trip: Day 1 & 2

We decided to get a head start on our trip to Auburn by leaving after Tony got off of work on Tuesday night.

We stayed in Elko for the night and then got up and finished our drive the next day.  We stopped in at Julie and Wendy's work for some Veteran's United swag and some treats before we went to my parents' house to unpack the car.

We then all went to Julie's house for family fun and dinner.  Teagan and Sam had come in the night before and then Kevin's family came shortly after we did.

Averee was so sweet with the girls and did their nails at different times throughout the trip.

Wendy and Ryan came a couple hours later after the rest of us.  We had a yummy dinner and enjoyed everyone company.

Random Fun

Koda loves to watch you while you eat, Allie was his new best friend for a few minutes.
Megan and her friend Hadley made ice cream and they really liked it.

We got to go watch Wicked.  We all really liked it.
Megan and Allie made their school musical.  They both got the parts that they wanted and are very excited to start practicing.

Josh in Granger's "The Adam's Family"

Josh was a gangster in the musical "The Adam's Family."  He did a good job playing dead and dancing around.  He wished that he had some speaking parts, but he said he had a good time.  He's not sure if he wants to do the musical next year, but we will see.  It is always fun to watch Josh on stage.
We were very thankful to the family and friends who came and supported Josh, even though it was kind of an odd musical.

Mutual Activities

Megan and Josh have been having some fun activities and have been able to go to the temple a couple of times.  It is nice that they share the pictures so often.  Megan is liking the new Young Women's presidency (she misses Tricia - she doesn't miss me).  We just got a new bishopric a couple of weeks ago.  Josh says they are good and have been making plans.

Veteran's Day at the Tabernacle

Josh got to sing at the Tabernacle at Temple Square the night before Veteran's Day.  All of Granite School Districs choirs got together a few times to practice and then all performed with a band.  The band was supposed to be an Army band, but I think because of the government shutdown, they couldn't do it.  So, they found a new band quickly and they did a really good job.
We picked up Margie and Lloyd before going downtown.  We parked at the shopping center and walked to the food court to find something to eat.  Most of us settled on Chick-fil-a and Lloyd had a cheesesteak.
After eating we walked to the temple to see Josh before he had to go get seated.  He was excited to perform and looked so handsome.  He then had to go in, and we went to the bathroom before going into the tabernacle to find our seats.
We found Josh seated in the very middle section chatting away with his neighbor.  It was fun to watch Josh and the other kids that we know sing so many patriotic songs.  They all sounded so good.
It was nice going to this program again this year. I really like it with the large choir and the band and paying tribute to the military.  Megan didn't love it and asked not to come back next year.  She may end up singing in the choir herself in a couple years, so I guess we can give her a year off.  Allie seemed to like it better.
After the show we looked at a couple of the statues on display at Temple Square and then met up with Josh before he had to get on the bus.
The rest of us then walked back to our car and we took Lloyd and Margie home before we went home.  Josh even beat us home, so that was kind of funny.  It was a lovely evening, and I am glad that our kids like to sing in the choir so we can have these types of opportunities.

Halloween 2025 - Tick-or-Treating & Haunted Corn Maze

It seemed like a pretty chill Halloween this year.  Megan went as a softball player and Allie went as a pumpkin.  They both looked very cute and were very practical costumes.
They both had fun trick-or-treating around the neighborhood with Tony.  They got lots of candy and luckily, they didn't get too cold.  Josh stayed home and played is computer.  He did like handing out candy to the kids.  He did go to a party the next night.
About a week before Halloween Megan talked about wanting to go to a haunted house.  I didn't think it would be a good idea to start with a really big scary one, so we looked into the Haunted Woods in Murray Park.  Turns out we just missed it and they weren't doing anymore.  So Tony found a haunted corn maze that we thought could be a good first "haunted" experience.  Josh said he wanted to go too, but Allie was a hard no.  Tony then found some discount tickets online for the three of them.  The tickets included the corn maze and the haunted maze.  They said they all had fun doing both mazes and they were ready to go to a bigger and scarier haunted house.  I guess we will have to see what we can make happen next year.
