Happy 8th Birthday Allie

Allie's turned 8 years old today.  She wanted to look extra pretty for church this day.  Her and Megan were twiners, and both looked so pretty.

Allie has been loving Legos lately and does a really good job putting them together.  She loves playing with her friends and playing on the computer.  She has a great imagination and still plays nicely with her toys.  She still loves playing with Barbie's in and out of the bathtub.  She loves treats but does a pretty good job eating the healthy stuff too.  She has gotten really good at playing on the computer as well and can hold her own playing Minecraft with her siblings.

Allie was able to open a couple presents after church and was super happy about that.  Grandma Margie had a special dessert with dinner tonight as well.  We will celebrate with the whole family on Saturday when she also gets baptized.

Tyler's Skin Removal

We decided to get Tyler's birthmark removed.  It started getting thick and it stuck out a lot more than it used to.  The doctor said that it is typical for it to change as kids go through puberty.  They had to numb the spot by shooting numbing meds all around the birthmark.  After it was all numb, the doctor cut out the spot and sewed it up with dissolvable stitches.  He had to wear a band aid for about a week and then he was good to go.  Every day it looks better, and it should just blend right it and be a very minimal scar.  Tyler did a great job with the whole process, and I think he is happy that it's not there anymore.

First Day of School 2022-2023

The kids received their Father's Blessings the night before school started.  They were all wonderful.  The kids all started school the next day and all had a great day.  Josh loves Jr. High and is excited for his new adventure.  The girls both love their teachers and still love school so much.  Tyler loves school too and felt like he never left.  It's so nice that they all love school and have a good time.

Weekend at the Cabin

Tyler finally had a Friday off, so we went up to the cabin for the weekend.  We had a great time relaxing, riding four-wheelers, playing old school Dr. Mario, watching shows, and eating yummy food.

Kevin, Betsy, Gavin, and Jenni came up on Saturday to visit for a few hours.  That was fun hanging out and going on rides.  We love the cabin and wish we could get up there more often.

Swim Party at the Jones's

The Jones family had all the Activity Day Girls and Boys and their families over to their house for dinner and swimming.  Our kids loved the pool and were the last ones to leave.  We had a good time socializing while the kids swam.  Brother and Sister Jones go above and beyond for their ward family, and we always feel so much love when we go to their house.

Logan Temple & Conner's Fairwell

Conner went through the temple for the first time, and we were able to go with him and his family.  We got a hotel in Logan and took the kids to hang out at Kevin and Betsy's house while we all went to the temple.  After the temple we adults then went out to dinner.  It was a lovely night of spiritual and social.

The next day was Conner's farewell.  We had breakfast at the hotel and then checked out before going to their ward house in Wellsville.  Conner did a great job on his talk and then we all went over to Kevin and Betsy's after sacrament for lunch.  We had a nice lunch with lots of Conner's friends and family.  I can't believe we have a soon to be missionary in the family.  After lunch we drove back to the valley and had dinner with Tony's family.  It was a great weekend.

Another Day at the Taylorsville Pool

We used our return passes to go back to the pool.  It was a hot, sunny day.  We were able to swim and play for a few hours before the weather caused us to have to leave again.  We did stay for longer this time, and we all had a great time.

Tyler Goes to FSY at BYU

Tyler had a great time at FSY.  He loved his counselor and his group of guys and gals.  They went to lots of classes, had lots of activities, a couple dances, and a talent show.  Tyler did tricks with his yo-yo in front of everyone at FSY (about 2000) people.  He was nervous, but he did it and did really good.  Porter sent us the video.  The kids were so supportive that half of them even gave him a standing ovation.  He said he danced with multiple girls at the dances, every slow song.  I am so proud of how brave he is and all these fun experiences he is getting.

Irish Evening at Murray Art in the Park

My mom had tickets to go to the Murray Arts in the Park Irish dance performance.  Her and I were going to go together, but she got sick with Covid and couldn't go anymore.  So, Tony and I went together.  The violinist was the same violinist that played with Celtic Women that Tony and I have seen, so that was pretty cool.  The dancers were from an Irish school of dance.  They were fun to watch.  We had a good time on our fun little date.

Goo Goo Dolls Concert

Tony had been checking out getting tickets to go see the Goo Goo Dolls.  It was pretty expensive at first, so he didn't get tickets.  Then the concert was rescheduled a couple time and then when it was time to have the concert, Tony found that they lowered the price the night before the concert.  So, he got us both tickets and we went to the concert.  We got there plenty early and got some shirts and some popcorn before finding our seats.  They were really good seats.  Row 7 front and center.
The opening act was Blue October.  We didn't recognize any of his music and didn't really care for it, but the crowd really liked him. After he was done there was about a 45-minute break before Goo Goo Dolls came out.  They were so good.  We knew a lot of the songs, but even the ones we didn't know we really liked.  I enjoyed the show, but I loved watching Tony enjoy the show even more.  He really loved the concert, and I am really glad that we went.
