It snowed yesterday a few inches and then it snowed more this afternoon and it is currently still snowing. The kids wanted to go play in the snow. Tyler tried to start an igloo and Megan managed to make a small snowman. Josh and Allie liked making snow angels. It is fun watching them play in the snow from the warmth of the house.

Fall Piano Recital
It was that time again for Tyler and Josh to have another piano recital. They both did very good.
Josh remembered to stop in between each of his songs for us to clap. Neither of them looked at us in between songs. They both memorized their songs and did great. We are so happy we found this teacher and got the boys into lessons. They both enjoy playing and are progressing nicely.

BYU Football Game
A couple in our ward (the Barker's) gave us a couple tickets to the BYU football game. We weren't sure if we should go because Margie was out of town and so it would be Tyler in charge for a long time.
We talked to Tyler and he said he would do it so we said Woohoo and got the tickets. We didn't have too hard a time finding a parking spot and then we walked to the stadium.
We decided to walk around and get some game day shirts and some dinner before we went to our seats.
After we got those things we found our seats and enjoyed watching the Cougars play some football. We walked around the whole stadium during half time and then got a Cougar Tail doughnut. It was a fun game. They won but the other team put up a good fight.
After the game Tony wanted some ice cream from the BYU creamery so we tried the location close to the stadium but they closed right before we got there. So we went to the one that is a couple blocks away. It was super busy so we just bought a quart of ice cream and ate some of it in the car on our drive home. It was a fun night and we were super happy that we were able to go.

Fall Break - Day 3: Texas Roadhouse
We got some free kid meal coupons at the Dinosaur park for Texas Roadhouse so we decided to make good use of them.
They food was super yummy as always. We all love Texas Roadhouse!

Fall Break - Day 3: Tree House Museum

The Tree House Museum was probably the most favorite thing that we did the whole trip. They had so many things for the kids to do. Even Tyler and Josh loved it. They had all these mini rooms that were like real life. Like a mini doctors office, grocery story, restaurant, fire station, police station (Josh's fav), and much more. They had tons of learning activities, crafts, a doll room, theater room, science room, and more. It was pretty awesome.
This was the rainy day so we planned on doing this museum that was all indoors. We got there right when it opened and then let the kids play for like two hours before deciding it was time to go get some lunch at Texas Roadhouse.
After we ate lunch the kids wanted to come back to the Tree House Museum, so we did. The price of admission is for all day so we could go back.
When we went back they were starting a kid run play. Megan really wanted to do it so we let the boys go play while we took the girls to the play. Megan ended up getting a part as a rabbit and she did a great job. So fun to watch her do that and be so brave.
We let them play another couple hours before we left to go to the movies. We went and saw Abominable and it was super cute. It was the perfect activity to go along with our rainy day plans.
After the movies we went to Crumbl and got some yummy cookies. We then went back to the hotel to relax and watch the BYU game. The next morning we checked out and went back home. It was a great Fall Break and we had a really good time exploring Ogden. It worked out perfectly and we all had a great time.
Fall Break - Day 2: Pumpkin Patch
On the way back to the hotel we spotted a fun pumpkin patch so we decided to stop and check it out. They had fun games and activities for the whole family. We started at the corn pit. The boys didn't want to play in the corn with the little kids so they went on ahead to do the maze and climb on hay bales.

After the girls played in the corn for a little while they decided they wanted to go down the slides that were coming down from the hay bales.
After that it was time to go on the train ride. This was a big hit with the girls, especially Allie. Megan went a couple times before she wanted to go do other things, but Allie went probably five or six times. But hey it was all part of the entrance fee so I let her go as many times as she wanted.Allie really liked going down the slides too. I even went down a couple times. I got a lot of hay in lots of places. But it was fun. We stayed until it was almost closed. It was a good find.
Fall Break - Day 2: Spiral Jetty
Before leaving that part of the area we drove over to the Spiral Jetty that is by the Great Salt Lake. It was quite the drive and we weren't really sure if we were going the right way but we found it.We all got out of the car and walked down to the "beach" and walked on the rocks of the jetty that someone made a long time ago.
It was nice to walk in the sunshine and we enjoyed the view. I didn't even know that this jetty was there or that it was a thing, so that was a fun thing to see. Good times. After we walked around we headed back up to the car and started driving back to the hotel.Fall Break - Day 2: Golden Spike
After eating lunch at a Mexican restaurant we headed out to the Golden Spike national park. It was kind of a long drive but not too bad.
Once we got there we found out that because Josh is a forth grader he got a free national parks pass for the year. He just had to answer a couple questions and then we all got in for free and he received a pass. We hope to use that pass in the future.
We then took a pretend spike out to the spot where both railroads met together. The kids then pretended to hammer it in the wood. It was pretty windy and cold outside so we didn't stay out there very long.

Once we got back into the visitor center we got a work packet for the kids to do. Only Josh and Megan wanted to do them. So they completed the packets and became Jr. Rangers.
After that we watched a movie about the railroads being built from each side of the country. It was very interesting to see the history behind the railroads and all that went into building them.
After the video we went to the maintenance garage where we saw replicas of the two trains that came to meet on that day at the Golden Spike. It was fun to see those up close and hear about the differences in the trains. It was cool but we were all pretty trained out by then so we were done.

Fall Break - Day 2: Union Station
First activity of the day on Friday was Union Station. They have big trains outside for you to walk around and look at. You don't get to go on them or in them, so that is a bummer but it was cool to see them up close.Inside Union Station has 5 different museums.
They have the history of trains museum that talked about...the history of trains. That was interesting. The kids don't like to stop and read the signs with all the information so that can be hard sometimes. But they did have a cool play room with train stuff to play on. They all really liked that. They liked pretending to drive a train and push all the buttons. It was a fun room.
Then it was the gun museum. That had a lot of guns and a very opinionated presenter. It was interesting for a minute. Then we saw some really cool old cars. That was fun. They also had some other smaller displays but they weren't very interesting to kids and only mildly interesting to adults. After exploring all the inside things we then checked out the trains on the other side of the station. They were cool enough. We decided that as plenty time at Union Station and we went to get lunch.
