Happy Halloween 2018

The kids had a great Halloween.  Tyler went as Harry Potter, Josh was a ninja, Megan was Ariel, and Allie was Bell.  They all looked so cute.
They went to school dressed up and ready to party.  The school had their walk-a-thon on Halloween and called it a spook-a-thon and all the kids walked the track for the money they raised for the PTA.
Allie and I went over there to help set up and then helped during the walk-a-thon.  It was fun to see all the kids in their costumes since the school no longer does a Halloween Parade.
After we helped clean up, Allie and I went back home.  After school the kids came home and got out of their costumes for a while.
Josh was not feeling very good because he picked up the cold that all the rest of the kids had.  I gave him some medicine and that made him feel better.  He at first said he didn't want to go trick-or-treating but I knew he would feel bad if he didn't go for a little while, so lucky the medicine made him well enough to go out with the other kids for a while.
It was a pretty cold day so we dressed up the kids pretty warm.  We put the girls coats on under their dresses and sweatshirts under the boys costumes.  I think that kept them all pretty warm.
Tony took the kids out trick-or-treating and told them that he would stay out as long as they wanted.
Allie and Josh came back after about an hour or so.  They had enough.  Tony said Allie kept asking him to call me to have me pick her up.  He told her no.  So funny.
Tyler and Megan went back out with Tony for another hour.  They all had a good time and got tons of candy that will last us forever.
I stayed home and gave out candy to the trick-or-treaters.  Always a good time.  I updated my blog while watching Coco and three big white doggies.  We borrowed Margie's gate and blocked them from the door so I didn't have to worry about them trying to get out when I opened to door.  It was quite the adventure.  It's always fun having the dogs and Halloween.

Family Time at the Farm

Pumpkin Time at the Farm

Hay Time at the Farm

We went up to the Dibbles Farm to get us some pumpkins.  They had a huge pile of hay that the kids found right away and liked climbing on it and playing in it.  Allie didn't love it, but sat on it long enough for a little picture.
After we took pictures of hay loving kids we then walked out to pick out pumpkins.  Each kid picked which one they wanted and then we went back to the barn.
The kids wanted to play on the tractor and then Ken took the boys on the big tractor.  The girls were too scared to go on the ride so they stayed by Tony and I while the boys went around the farm on the tractor.  It was a fun time at the farm.

Pumpkin Fun FHE

We took the pumpkins that we got from our super fun pumpkin patch train ride in Colorado and painted them or carved them.
Tyler was the only one that wanted to carve his and the other kids painted theirs.  We didn't need to help the kids with the painted pumpkins.  They did them all on their own.
Tony had Tyler mark the face on his pumpkin and then Tony helped him carve it and Tyler cleaned out all the guts.
The kids all had a great time and did a great job!

Fall Break 2018 - Day 5: The Hole in the Rock & Lunch

We got the car all packed up and started our journey back home.  We decided to stop in Moab and go tour the Hole in Rock.  It is a home that someone built inside the mountain.
We liked looking around the property and seeing all the different things that they had.  After that we went and took a tour of the house in the mountain.  It was pretty cool.  It was really big and impressive what they had to do to create this home.
After our tour we looked around a little bit more before getting back into the car.  After driving a little longer we stopped and got some lunch at a diner.  It was pretty good food and they had a little arcade area that the kids liked looking at.
After lunch we finished our drive home.  The kids did really good in the car and we all had a great trip.  We did ask the kids what was their favorite part of the trip and they all said swimming in the pool.  I thought that was pretty funny.  I thought it was a super fun trip and I was glad we got to see such amazing things so close to home.

Fall Break 2018 - Day 4: Final Activities

We spent the rest of the time that we had left playing games.  The kids liked the pumpkin mini golf and the bouncy houses.  Allie didn't want to do the bouncy houses so I took her to color another picture and make an airplane.
After Megan was done in the bouncy houses we went to check out the goodies and while walking around we found Snoopy.  Allie didn't want to take a picture with Snoopy so only Megan got one with him.
Margie bought us all some popcorn to eat while on the train ride back and Tony and I got some peanut butter fudge.
We all used the bathroom and got ready for the train to take us back to the main station.  It was a perfect amount of time for the kids to do everything they wanted at least once if not multiple times.  It was a super fun pumpkin batch and I think everyone had a great time.
After our train ride back we decided to get some lunch.  We found a Mexican restaurant and decided to try it out.  It was a little different, but good enough.  After lunch we drove around Durango to see the town.  We stopped and walked down a street with different shops.  We found a fun t-shirt place where we all got cute shirts, so that was fun.
After walking around we decided to go back to Cortez and check out that town more.  The three older kids and Tony went out into the field by the hotel and played with the boy's boomerangs and Josh's rubber band gun. Allie had fallen asleep in the car and was still sleeping so I stayed in our room with the door open so that I could watch her and the other kids.
It was a beautiful day and it was so nice to just relax at the hotel for a while.  After the kids were done in the field they came back to play tablets and relax while Margie and I went to Walmart and for a drive around town to see what they had.
We found at least three dispensaries and different shops and such, but nothing super awesome.  We did stop at a Native American shop that had a museum in the basement.  That was kind of interesting.
After that we went back to the hotel to get the others and go to dinner.  We went to a family dinning place that was pretty busy with what appeared to be a lot of Utahans coming back from Fall Break.  It was pretty funny.  The food was good and we had a good time.
After dinner it was swimming pool time.  I went in this time, but not for very long.  Their were tons of kids in the pool and so that made it less fun.  So Allie and I went up to the room to get ready for bed and then the others followed after.  It was the perfect activity for our last night in Cortez.

Fall Break 2018 - Day 4: Treats & Hay Ride

The kids go to go trick-or-treating at these make shift doors.  They liked doing that and did it like three times each.
After that we went on a hayride around the pumpkin patch area and onward.  It was a nice little ride.  Smelly from the tractor, but it was a nice sunny day and I think we all enjoyed a little ride.
After the ride the kids trick-or-treated one more time before going back to where all the activities were located.

Fall Break 2018 - Day 4: Fun Activities

They had tons of different activities for all the kids.  They had a football kicking area, coloring area, ghost making area, paper airplane making area, candy corn building area, face painting area, and another science type area.
Lots of different things for kids of all ages.  All our kids loved the activities and did a good job with their creativity.
