Utah State Fair

We decided to go to the State Fair this year.  The boys have a short day of school on Fridays, so as soon as Tyler got out of school we headed downtown.
After we parked and got in the fair grounds we found out that their was a circus that day but we needed tickets, so we picked those up before going on some rides.
Tony got him and the three older kids wrist bands that gave them unlimited ride access.  So Allie and I watched them go on a bunch of different rides before we headed to see the circus.
I took the kids and got us some seats for the circus while Tony found us some kettle corn popcorn to eat while we watched the performance.
It was really hot under the circus tent, but I was able to find us some good seats about 4 rows up.  Tony found us and brought us a big bag of yummy kettle corn.  Our one mistake was not having enough water.  I didn't top off our water bottle or our sippy cup, so we ran out of water fast.  All of us were very thirsty by the end of the circus.
The circus was pretty fun for a free with admission circus.  They had camels, acrobats, a high flying couple, and even motorcycles that drove around in circles inside a cage...pretty crazy.  And the drivers where old dudes, nuts.
After the circus we went and saw the animals.  They had a lot of sheep, goats, cows, etc.  We also saw bunnies, bees, and butterflies.  The kids got to pet a baby cow, lamb, and chickens too.  They were so cute.
After the animals we went to the FFA place where the little kids get to do all things agriculture like take pretend seeds, plant them, and then harvest their goods.  They even got to milk a pretend cow and brush a pretend sheep.  Then they take the goods and sell them.  They all get a snack at the end.  It is pretty cute and the kids really liked it.
After that it was time to eat some dinner.  We got the kids chicken and fries and Tony and I got stake sandwiches.  The stake was really good.  Nice and tender.  I gave Tyler and Josh a bite and then Josh decided he wanted the rest of mine.  He really likes stake.  I didn't mind too much, he helped me with my diet plan.
Then it was ride time.  The kids wanted to get in as many more rides as they could before we went home.  They had so much fun on the rides.  Allie did pretty good sitting out and walking around.  Then when it was after 8 we decided to head home.  We all had a good time and hope to make this an annual event.

Allie & Josh's Family Birthday Party

We had a combined birthday party for Josh and Allie.  It is nice having the kids birthdays close enough to combine family parties.
We got a cake from Sam's Club and had some ice cream too.  We did put out some yummy viggies and dip too for those trying to be good.
They both got some super cute and fun things from our family  It is so nice having both sides of our family come together in our home to celebrate our kids.  Someday I hope to have a bigger house so we don't have to squish all together.
Josh's stats:

Height: 45 3/4 inches (56%)

Josh's Friend Party

Josh had is first friend birthday party today.  We invited the ward kids who are in his primary class and kindergarten class.  I wasn't really sure what to do with these kids, so I picked feeding them.
We had the kids play outside until we got the pizza.  Some of the kids had a hard time just playing and wanted to play video games or Lego's, but I told them to go outside and play.  I guess using their imagination was just too hard for these 6 year olds.
They all ate some pizza and then had cupcakes and ice cream.  After the kids all ate, Josh really wanted to open his presents.  So that's what we did.  He loved having so many gifts and was excited to play with all of them.  I told him he couldn't play with them until after his friends went home.  He didn't like that, but too bad.
Then the kids played a little bit longer until their parents came to get them.
I think the party was a success and I am glad that I don't have to do another one for a few more years!

Megan's First Day of Preschool

Megan started preschool today.  She was so excited.  She got to wear her new outfit and her new shoes.  She was so excited to go line up and get to her class.  She was pretty calm when we first went to leave, but then she started crying.  After a minute or two we got her calmed down and playing with one of her friends.
When I went to pick her up so was bawling.  It was really sad.  They said she got her fingers hurt by the door in the bathroom about 15 minutes earlier and was just done after that.  She just wanted mommy.  They did say that she did really good until that time.  Too bad she got hurt, but she still seems excited to go back.  I guess we'll see how she does on Thursday.  I hope it's a little better day for her!

Allie Turned One!

How can it be that a whole year has past since I delivered this beautiful girl?  I can still remember the crazy morning when we kept getting pushed back on our induction time.  It took longer then we thought to get her out that day, but she came out nice and easy.
Allie is such a sweet baby.  She has been walking better and better every day.  She loves to play outside.  She gets fussy inside and calms right down when we go in the front yard.  She has been loving eating chalk.  I try to stop her, but she always seems to find it when we're outside.  Allie can say mama, dada, hi-ya, ty-ty, and many other sounds.  She is a good eater most of the time.  Not the best sleeper, but that's probably my fault.  She loves her family and we all love her!

Steenblik Family Reunion

Tonight we went to Sugar House Park to a family reunion with Tony's dad's family.  The kids had a lot of fun playing in the little stream that they have going through the park.
They also had a lot of fun playing on the playground with their cousins.
Tony's aunt and uncle bought Cafe Rio for everyone and then we all brought desserts.  It was very nice of them to set up the reunion and provided dinner.  We had a good time seeing Tony's grandpa, aunts, uncles,  and cousins.  Nothing is better family.

Josh's First Day of Kindergarten

Josh is officially a kindergartner.  He is in the morning class with 3 other kids from our ward.  I didn't notice many kids from his preschool in his class, so they must be in the other classes.
He said he had a good first day.  He likes his teacher and liked having a recess.  He told me that he runs as fast as he can to line up when it's time to go back to class from recess.  He didn't give me much more information then that, but he was in good spirits.
We sure love our silly Josh so much.  He is so dang cute.  He really is such a happy-go-lucky kind of kid.  Just wants to have fun.  I can't believe he is going to turn 6 in just a few short weeks.  We are so lucky to have this awesome kid in our family!

Oh The Heat of August

Today was so hot that the kids really wanted to get out the swimming pool.  I, however, really didn't want to go through all the work to get out the swimming pool and getting it filled, so I opted for the slip-n-slid.
We got it out and the kids had so much fun.  Tyler was excited to change into his swimsuit after he got home from school.
Allie liked playing in the water and cooling down except when her siblings splashed her in the face.  She currently has an ear infection with a mean fever, so she has been pretty fussy the last couple of days.  Tony took her to the doctors this morning and we started her on an antibiotic, so hopefully she will feel better soon.
Tomorrow is also suppose to be really hot so maybe we will have to get it out again, or just get out the sprinkler...that would be even easier.

Chalk, Red Rover, and Sprinklers

Megan got out the chalk to color on the sidewalk and Allie decided to join the fun.  Allie may have eaten more chalk then she colored with.
After dirt, wrestling, and playing with Chalk it was Red Rover time.  My kids have a short attention span.
With the construction our sprinklers are out of order so Tony bought one that we could connect to our hose.  The kids think it's pretty awesome.
Megan showing us her cute new swimsuit.
Their is just something about jumping over a sprinkler, every kids loves to do it.
Tyler feeling the nice streams of water.
It didn't take very long before both boys were having the sprinkler hit them in the bum...silly boys.  We had a pretty fun Saturday.

Rocks, Wrestling, and Cute Faces

With all the construction going on in front of our house the kids have loved playing in the dirt and rock piles.
Josh is the king of the mountain.
Tyler really did not want me to take his picture, ha ha I got one anyway.
Josh's smile...I guess it was bright outside.
After the kids all got dirty in the dirt, then it was wrestling time.  Tony gives no mercy to the kids and claims that he is "toughing them up."
Even Allie got in the wrestling action with Tyler and Josh.
I had Josh smile for me and these are the silly pictures I got of him.  I think this one is my favorite.
Josh's big teethy grin.
This is Josh's "cute" face.  He likes to give me this sweet smile when he's asking me for something.  He is too cute!
