Josh is now the big 2!

Josh turned two on Wednesday.  I can't believe how fast time flies sometimes.  On Wednesday I took Josh and Tyler to Arctic Circle for lunch after Tyler's preschool as Josh's first birthday fun time.  They both love to play there.  They never eat hardly anything, but that's okay.  It gets eaten eventually.  Then that night we all went to Wingers where Josh had a free kids meal for his birthday.  After eating Tyler had his soccer practice and they both had a good time playing around the soccer fields.
We officially celebrated with a family party on Saturday.  We had a lite lunch and then cake and ice cream.  Everyone was so nice to come support and brought such nice gifts for Josh.  He has been playing with them non-stop since yesterday.  It is always nice to have a reason for the families to get together.
Josh really is such a fun kid to have.  He is super naughty sometimes and always has the biggest grin when he is doing something he shouldn't.  He is so funny.  My parents have ducks at their house that he loves to feed bread to, so yesterday Josh asked for bread and then went outside and started quacking to feed the ducks - sadly no ducks were at our house.  It was so funny.  .
Josh is getting really good at helping put his things away.  He also loves to share with Tyler (on his terms).  If he gets a treat or yogurt, he generally will get one for Tyler too.  It is so nice to see him think about others.  He is definitely two.  He is pure trouble, but he is cute trouble.  We love him so much and can't wait to see what exciting things come from our little guy.  These two years have gone way too fast.  We sure do love you Joshy.
Before the party that day Tyler had a soccer game.  He played really well and scored over 10 goals,
Tony and I lost count - but were pretty sure it was a lot.  He is really understanding how to play and is doing a great job.  It is fun to see his play so well and have such a good time.  Josh wants to play so bad.  He always wants to be on the field or in Tony's arms where all the action is.  One more year and he can play too.

Tyler's first day of 4 year old preschool

Tyler had his first day of 4 year old preschool yesterday.  He was so excited and loved every minute of it.  I am not super happy that I have to drive into Murray three days a week this school year, but I am sure that it is good for me and Josh to get out of the house.  Since my parents are in Alaska, Josh and I went to Tony's parents and hung out with his mom and his nephew that she watches everyday.  Josh had fun playing with Gabe and she watched Josh for me while I went and got my blood drawn for my pregnancy stuff.  The guy got it the first time and I am glad to have that over.  I wish that I could say that I am starting to feel great, but it is the opposite.  I have gone from really bad to feeling tons better, to back to bad.  I have been throwing up more and I just feeling like crap.  I am glad to be pregnant and the good thing about being sick all the time is that you know that you are still good and pregnant...I am trying to look at the bright side.  It definitely keeps me humble...and a bit ornery (my poor kids).

Tyler's new favorite spot

Tyler realized that he could climb on top of our club house last week and has been doing it everyday since.  He decided he wanted to eat his lunch up there today and so I thought I would take pictures of how happy he was.  He feels so big and loves having his very own spot that no one else can get to.  We sure do love our Tyler.

We love Josh too.  He is giving me a run for my money these days, but he is super cute and sweet.  AND, he doesn't seem to mind when Tyler goes to the top and he can't go with him...a big bonus for mom - no extra screaming.

My first appointment

I had my first appointment with my midwife on Thursday.  Everything went really well.  She couldn't pick up the heart beat with her hand held dopler machine, so I decided to make an appointment to get an ultra sound later that day.  I wasn't really worried, but I figured better safe then sorry -- and I didn't want to have to drive back to Riverton next week to have her check it again.
After my appointment I went back home to check on Koda.  He did really good while I was gone, so I was happy about that.  He wasn't happy to have me leave again, but I had to go and try to get Josh down for his nap at my moms house.  So I went to my moms and got Josh down and then I went back to my house and got Koda to take him to get his shots.  He isn't a big fan of the car, so he was all over me while I was driving.  Not a very safe way to drive...
He did really good with the shots.  Then I took him to my parents and he played with Toby, my parents Jack Russel Terrier.  Tony got off work a little early so that he could come with me to the ultra sound appointment.  My mom watched the boys and Koda while we went.  We had to wait a little bit when we got there, but it was a good appointment.  The baby looks good and has a strong heart beat.  He is measuring right at 10 weeks, so that is really good too.  Everything that she looked at looked good, so we are happy with the results.  It always seems like the first appointment takes forever to come, so I am glad that it has come and gone.  Now in four more weeks we'll do it again.

Week of fun and craziness

Koda, Tyler, and Josh
This has been a very long week.  Koda has kept us busy and tired, but we really do love him lots.  He did lots better last night in his kennel and only woke up and needed to go out when I got up to go to the bathroom (so three times).  Josh on the other hand was a pill all night again.  I sure hope that ends soon.  Tony is doing a good job training Koda and is really loving having a dog.

Ava and Tyler watching a show after swimming
Tyler has been playing a lot with our neighbor named Ava.  She is almost four and they play really well together.  They played almost everyday this week for hours and hours.  It is nice for Tyler to have a friend that lives so close that they can come back and forth by them selves.

Tyler had his third soccer game today.  He did a really good job. He scored nine goals!  His goal was ten, but I think that nine is pretty darn good.  He is really learning ball control and is having a great time playing.  Josh is always sad that he can't be part of the action and likes to spend the time being held by Tony to feel like he is part of the team.  Next year at this time Josh will be able to play.  He just can not wait.

I'm SO SO TIRED

I am one tired person.  The dog keeps us up all night...Josh was fussy all night....adding potty breaks three times a night = one very tired mommy.  The dog thinks it's play time when Tony leaves for work at 5:00 in the morning, so I get to then spend the next hour trying to calm him down so that we can both get back to sleep.  THEN, as soon as I FINALLY got back to sleep...Josh woke up crying and then of course that wakes up Koda and then he had to go potty, then going back to sleep just wasn't in the cards.  Hence, I am tired, emotional, and very impatient with the dog and my bogs...and it's not even 8:30 am.  It's going to be a very long day!

Puppy Koda is here to stay

Josh with Koda while he's sleeping
Tony brought Koda home on Thursday after work.  He left early and drove up to Logan to get Koda and bring him home.  He did really good in the car and did really good that night getting to know his new home and family.  He did good to bark when he needed to go out to go potty and did pretty good during the night.  He barked and had to go out about three times.  Not too bad.
Tyler pretending to sleep by koda
Then Friday he got more comfortable and enjoyed sleeping and playing outside in the shade and inside on the cool floor under the swamp cooler.  We found that he had peed under the kitchen chair when we didn't see and so that totally bummed us out.  Then he had a super hard night last night with lots of barking and (I think) just being lonely.  He missed his doggie family.  We were up a lot last night.  Tony got up each time to take him out and then had to sit with him a couple time until he went to sleep.  Add that with me having to pee three times a night and I just did not get much sleep.
"Soft Puppy"
So by Saturday he had peed again in the house and we just can't have him doing that.  It was our plan from the beginning to crate train, but since he was doing so good at first telling us when he had to go, we thought maybe we wouldn't have to use it.  Well, when he peed on the floor - it told us that he, indeed, needs to be crate trained.  So we started that today...and let's just say he's not a big fan.  He cried a lot...barked a lot...and I was tempted to let him out, but we know that he will get used to it and stop all the whining.  We take him out hourly to potty and play and then put him back.  He is actually doing much better now that it is later in the day.  Tony got out the fan and put it on him and he seemed to really like that.  He laid right down and took a nice long nap after that.  I can tell the poor thing is just super hot -- I totally understand how he feels.  He loves the shade and hates having to go outside when the sun in pouring through the back door.  I think that he will love the cooler weather even more then I will.
So far we all totally love him.  Many times we have to tell the boys to back off him, but they smother with love.  Koda has done well with the boys too.  He does like to chew so it's a good thing that we have lots of toys for him.  I think that it's going to be a little hard for a while, but it'll be all worth it.

Tyler's First Fall Soccer Game

Tyler did awesome on Saturday.  He scored SIX goals during his first Fall soccer game.  on the way to the game Tyler said that his goal was five goals, so it was fun to see him be able to get that goal and then some.  After the five Tyler thought that he could just stop playing since he got his goal, so we had to convince him it was okay to get more goals.  Granted Tyler is the only kid on our team who is four and who has played before, but he really did a great job.  Our new team has all kids who have never played and only one other four year old.  The team we played against seemed to have the same issue because they only had one kid scoring goals as well.  Most the team didn't want to play, or were shy, or whatever, so we only had three kids who stayed in the whole time.  Very different from last season.
We get our puppy on Thursday.  We are super excited and I just hope that he trains quickly.  He is growing really fast and wont be a puppy for long, so I just need to remind my self that and enjoy the cute little guy - Koda.

Green Beans...gotta love'um...babies too...

So Tony has been working a TON of extra hours the last couple of weeks because the green beans are on and ready to be harvested.  When it is green bean season, that means that Tony's works 6 days a week, 12 hours a day.  So generally what has been happening is Tony leaves for work about 3:30 pm and then doesn't get home until about 5:30 am.  So then he goes down stairs in the guest bedroom and tries to get in a decent amount of sleep and comes up around 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm.  Then I put Josh down for his nap (after seeing Daddy for about 5-10 minutes) and then Tyler and I get to hang out with Daddy for a couple hours before he has to head back up to work to do it all over again.
It has been a couple very long weeks of this, but it will be done soon - maybe even today.  Tony got a call from his boss about 2:30 pm today saying that their filler machine broke and they need him to come into work right away.  If they can't fix it quickly, then they will be done with green beans today.  That would be great news, but the really good part has been that Tony has been able to get a lot of overtime, which we really need.  So that is definitely the silver lining of my story.  The really sad part is that we don't even really like green beans.  I will eat them every now and then, but they are far from my favorite vegetable ---- Tony just hates them, if not before, he definitely hates them now.
I would say the hardest part of Tony being unavailable for so much of the day is that I have been feeling terrible.  I am so so tired all the time and I pretty much feel like I am about to throw up all day long.  One day I love something, and the next day that same food totally makes me sick.  I am sure you guessed by now that I am pregnant.  I am only about eight weeks along, so I haven't told anyone besides family.  No Facebook comments or telling the neighbors yet.  It is hard to want to keep a blog for my journaling and then feel like I have to leave such a big part of my life out of it.  Well, lucky for me my blog is private and I am sure that anyone who actually reads my blog will keep my secret until I am further along and ready to tell the world.  We haven't even told the boys yet.  I figure we will tell them when we are ready for Tyler to go around and spread the news like only a four year old can.  We have been trying for about five months and we are really happy that it has finally happened for us.  I have been pretty nauseous from the very beginning.  I don't remember it being this bad with the other boys, but I could just not remember it.  Tony has been really good to me when he is here.  We are both really excited and can't wait to find out more about this baby.  Wow - that feels really good to talk about!
