Time flies by...

Last Saturday we all went to Kennecott with Tony's family for their 20th anniversary celebration. They had a little tour and then lunch. It was lots of fun. I have pictures, but I need to get them off of the camera and then I will put them on here. We all received fun give-a-ways and a good time was had. Then Tony went and took a washer and dryer up to his brother in Logan while I watched the rest of the BYU game at his mom's. It is nice to see that BYU is back to their old selves when they used to just kill everyone by tons of points. Those blow out games aren't really as much fun as the closer ones, but I don't like nail-bitters because I get too anxious.

Tyler has become obsessed with playing in the car. We let him do it at first while we were using the car to pull out bushes, ever since that is the first thing he does when we go out side. On the plus side, I have cleaned out both cars while he has been playing. Of course then he wants to play with the vacuum and a 15 minute job turns into a 45 minute job. It keeps me humble.

I am going to go and teach at my sisters school (Riverton High) on Wednesday. I am going to be a presenter about the banking world. It should be lots of fun, I look forward to it. I just hope that the kids don't get too bored and that I have enough information. I will let you know how it goes!

Go Cougs!

Tony and I got to go to the BYU game on Saturday against UCLA. BYU killed them 59 to 0. It was such a great game. Tony and I got to go to the side line and watch part of the first quarter on the field. It was so awesome to be so close to the action. Our seats were on the 20th yard line and 10 rows up. They were nice seats. Then we got to go to a corporate sponsor pre-game lunch and half time treats too. We won the tickets from my work at Deseret First Credit Union. They are one of the sponsors, so they have tickets to each game. It was a great game and a fun experience. We really love BYU football so it was awesome. We were truly spoiled that game. I hope to win some more tickets some time.

Tony and I have been working really hard on our yard lately. It will look nice when it is done, but it sure is a lot of work. We always start out with a little job and then it ends up being a huge job. I think that is how it always is. It has needed to be done for a while, so it is good that it is getting done.

Tyler is getting so big. He is such a big jumper. He is so daring and will jump off of pretty high things, like the couch. He is talking a little better. He says Dad more now and words like cat, dog, ball, mom, car...that is all I can think of now. He definitely focuses on physical things more then verbal skills. He is so much fun and I just love him so much.

Good times

Tyler has been sick with a cold the past couple of days. It sucks when babies are sick. They can't tell you what is really wrong, so you just have to guess. I took him to the doctors on Friday and found out that he has an ear infection. This will be the third one he has had. The doctor said that babies are "allowed" four within their first year of life. So I was glad to hear that. It was a different doctor then I usually see, but I really liked him. I kind of wish that he was Tyler's doctor always. I would feel bad switching, so I will have to be happy with my doctor.

This last weekend was very busy. Tony and I decided to take out some bushes from our yard and make it look better. My dad and brother came and helped us take out the bushes and then on Monday a guy from our ward helped Tony put them on the trailer. Tony had a bungee cord come back and hit him in the eye brow and the lip. We spent 2 hours in the InstaCare waiting to get a stitch. Good times. His eye is pretty purple now, it is way hot.

We have been working every night on our yard. We bought some flowers and a small tree for our front yard. It is starting to look really nice. Tony planted seeds tonight and I sure hope that they grow well. We have 300 bulbs to plant, so that will be awesome come this spring. I love it when the yard is nice and the lawn is mowed. It will be worth all the hard work when we are done, at least it better be.

Tyler loves the summer

Tyler really loves the summer time. He loves being outside and playing in the water. He has started to grab our hands and walk across the street to the neighbors house and then he knocks on the door. Then a really nice older man (like in his 80's, Ray) comes to the door and lets him in and always gives him a treat. It is so funny how quickly they know how to get treats. It is really cute. He has also learned how to jump with both feet. It is way adorable to see him jump all over the place. He even does "Ring around the rosies" and then he will fall down at the end. So much fun. He is becoming such a big little man. I can't believe that he is almost 18 months old. It goes way too fast.

It has been too long

I have been waiting to post so that I can add some pictures. That is a pretty lame excuse. It has been a pretty busy couple of weeks. A couple weekends ago we went up to the cabin and spent the night. It was so much fun. We went on the four wheelers and Tyler loved it. He loved it so much that he fell asleep twice on the four wheelers. Tony said that is was like carrying dead weight when he would fall asleep. I love the mountains and seeing all the wild life. My family has worked really hard at making the cabin a nice place to be and it really is. We might go up again over Labor Day, that is if we don't have too much yard work to do.
Tony finished his summer school and has started his last semester of school. It is very exciting that he will be done soon. I just hope that the kind of job that he wants will open up once he is done.

This past week

It is pretty sad when you haven't updated your blog in a week and you still don't have much to say. Last week was a busy one. Tony had work and school and I had work and Tyler. My cousin Robin came to stay with us on Saturday and we had some friends come to dinner on Friday, so I spent a lot of time cleaning each room of our house. It was nice to have Heather and Lyle over. They are good friends and it is always nice to spend time with them. Then Robin came on Saturday night and will be staying with us for a couple weeks or so.

We had Tony's company summer BBQ on Friday. It was sort of fun. They had it at Wheeler Farm, so Tyler got to see all the animals. He loves animals, so that was good. We also got to go swimming at a friends pool last week. I think Tyler likes our little pool just as much as a regular big pool.

Family Camp Out

It was that time a year again where we all go to Palisade's Park and have the Family Camp Out with Tony's mom's side of the family. We left on Friday and came back on Sunday. Tyler was not feeling good at all on Friday and it was basically miserable for all of us. He would just cry and their was nothing that would make him stop. He wouldn't eat, he didn't really want to play. At first we thought it was just teething (of course he is getting two more teeth on the bottom), but then it was way too much crying just for teething. So then we thought maybe his legs hurt, like growing pains. I was going nuts. I just couldn't handle not being able to help him and make the pain stop. So I started getting emotional and frustrated, so Tony took him to the Walmart in Ephraim (good times) and got some Tums and other things that he thought would help. When they got back Tyler was still really unhappy so Tony decided to give him a blessing.
After the blessing he took some Motrin and drank a bottle and he was then a very happy boy. He played and played in the tent. But once he finally got to sleep he woke up 4 times during the night just crying. Tony had to take him for a drive to calm him down...after a long day and night he had a poop and felt much better. So all that and the main problem (we think) was that he was constipated. So he drank lots of juice that next day and some more bottle and he was a lot happier. He still didn't eat very well the rest of the time that we were there, so we decided to go home early on Sunday. Good thing we did because he slept all the way home (2 hours) and then later that afternoon he slept another 3 hours. He really needed to just be home and get some rest.
Tyler is doing great today. He ate his normal breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt and then we played all morning and now he is down for his nap. It is really hard to see your child in pain and not being able to do anything. I am so grateful for Tony and his ability to stay calm when things like that happen. I am definitely a woman, so emotional.
Besides Tyler's issues the camp out was lots of fun. It is always fun to hang out with family that you don't see very often. The kids got to play in the water, go on walks, play with the doggies, Tony played horse shoes (and did pretty darn good for only playing once a year), and much more. It was great to see everyone, but it is also great to be home.

Pioneer Day

I love Pioneer Day. It is almost like having two Independence Days. We went to the parade down town yesterday morning. I decided that I definitely don't need to go to that parade for many more years. It was fun, but not as fun as the Murray parade on the 4th of July. Their were tons of anti-Mormons holding big signs that said ridiculous things and other people handing out fliers for their churches. Very interesting thing to find at the "Mormon Parade."

After that we went home and Tyler slept for about 3 hours. He woke up really hot with a high fever. We gave him some Motrin and cooled him down. I think that he is getting more teeth. He is really slobbery today and acts unhappy. After we cooled him down we went to my parents for a BBQ and fire works. We had lots of fun looking at their new baby chickens, playing outside and eating yummy food. I got to do lots of "snakes". They are my favorite fire works. Then the men did the rest and a good time was had by all.

Tony and I are just getting the car ready to go to Palisades for his family reunion. We get to sleep in a tent and spend lots of fun times out side. I hope that Tyler does okay there while he isn't feeling very good. Hopefully it isn't too hot to. I heard it was suppose to be about 100. That is HOT!!!

Greatgrandparents and First Hair Cut

Tyler is so lucky to still have great grandparents.  A while ago we went to visit Tony's grandparents in their home in Rose Park.  Tony's grandma Joyce isn't doing so well, so we wanted to go and visit her before she passes.  She was upbeat and we got a really good picture of Tyler with his great grandma and great grandpa.

Tyler also got his hair cut a couple of month ago.  It was getting too long, but I was waiting because he has such cute curls in the back.  He did a really good job for his first hair cut.  We took him to a lady that Tony has gone to for years, Shaz, and she did a great job.  Tyler was nervous at first, but was a trouper and did great.  Now he has no more curls, but he looks very cute.  Shaz did give me some of his cute curls to keep for Tyler's keepsakes.  So that is kind of fun.

It's nice to be home

Girls camp was fun, but boy is it nice to be home. The weather was good, the girls were amazingly awesome and a good time was had by all. They have only hills at the Heber Valley Camp. All up or down. My two least favorite things about hills. Well down isn't so bad. Needless to say, I got a lot of hiking done while I was there.

This stake doesn't sing the same camp songs that I grew up signing, so it is kind of hard going. Singing the silly songs is such a big part of camp, so it was hard for me not to complain every time they sang something stupid. They don't sing the spider web song, the chicken song, or the pioneer song, just to name a few. I guess it will be my job to teach them the fun ones.

I really missed Tony and Tyler while I was gone. I texted Tony everyday to check up how things were going. Tyler did really well at the Steenblik's house. They are SO AWESOME to take Tyler for the whole week. I really need to do something for Tony's parents to thank them. Tony did say that Tyler would go around calling my name and then going room to room looking for me. Isn't that so sweet. Tyler has been nothing but smiles and giggles since I have been back, it is wonderful. You really do need to get away every now and then to really appreciate what you have.

We went to Texas Roadhouse on Friday night. It was delicious. That is our favorite place. Their food is the best and the prices are not bad at all. It tasted especially good that night after eating in the mountains all week.

Well I didn't want this to be so long, so I will rap it up now. I love Tony. I love Tyler. I love that girls camp is over (until next year -- which hopefully I won't be there because I will have an extra bundle of joy).
