Oregon Trip 2023 - Day 2: Crater Lake, Medford Temple, & Grants Pass Bears

After we checked out of our hotel in Lakeview, we drove to Crater Lake.  It wasn't too busy, and the weather was perfect.  We walked around seeing the different view areas of the lake.  It's amazing how blue and clear the water is.  There was still snow in many of the shadow spots, but it was gorgeous.

We went to the visitor center and the ranger center where the girls became Junior Rangers of Crater Lake.  It was super fun to watch them get sworn in as Junior Ranger.

After we saw all the sights that we could, we then started our drive to Grants Pass.  We stopped by the temple in Medford first and it was beautiful.  We love going to different temples and walking the grounds.

We then went to Costco for gas and lunch.  The best place for a cheap lunch and a nice place to walk around.  After that we made our drive to Grants Pass and went to check into our hotel.

Our hotel turned out to be a dump.  It was super dirty and sketchy, and looked nothing like the pictures that were online, so we ended up checking out of the hotel and finding a new one down the road.  It was a hundred dollars more a night and only had two beds, but it was nice and clean.

After we checked into our new, clean hotel we unpacked our bags and got situated in our room.  We then went to the local Walmart to pick up a sleeping bag and a blanket for the girls to sleep on the floor of our room.  These ended up coming in handy later at the cottages.

After Walmart, we then went to my parent's hotel.  It was a nice room and was right on the river.  Each room had a balcony with a river view.  We then went out to dinner with my parents to a yummy local restaurant.  The food was really good, and the service was even better.  It was nice getting one-on-one time with my parents and enjoying good food.

After eating we went back to my parent's hotel where the rest of our family was about to check in.  We got some popcorn from their front desk and hung out for a little while before going back to our hotel for the night.

Oregon Trip 2023 - Day 1: SLC to Lakeview, OR

We left bright and early to start our drive to Oregon.  We wanted to drive all the way to Lakeview, so it was a longer drive then we usually do on the first day.
We checked into our hotel and then went swimming.  A fellow hot tuber was surprised that all four of the kids were mine, always a funny thing.
We decided to try the Mexican restaurant that was next door for dinner, but we didn't want to all change to go.  So, Tony got us take out and we ate it in our room after we all showered and got into our pajamas.  It was good food, and we enjoyed our relaxing night.

Summer Tennis 2023

The three younger kids really liked their summer tennis lessons.  It was at a new court that was really nice and had a super fun park right by it.
Allie was in the begging class that was first, so Megan and Josh played on the playground while she had her lesson.  Once they had enough of the playground, we walked around the park and it was a nice mile walk.
Then it was Megan and Josh's turn for their lesson and Allie played on the playground.  The park had a nice walking path around the playground area, so I walked the path while Allie played.  It worked out good for everyone and we all really had a good time.
Tyer had weightlifting at the high school while we were at tennis, so all the kids were having fun.

Fun June Happenings (Posted in July)

Tyler did a good job playing summer baseball.  He caught a lot, and he pitched well.  It is always fun to see Tyler getting better at doing what he loves.
Me and the girls went to a show with my mom at Murray Arts in the Park.  We always love seeing the shows.
The girls have had a couple sleepovers at Margie's, and they were able to swim in her hot tub. They always love that.
We went up to the cabin with family and that is always so much fun.

We were also able to go to the Saratoga Springs Temple open house.  It is such a beautiful temple and we all loved seeing it as a family.  The kids all say that they loved it and loved how they felt inside the temple.

Walking with Grandma Kim

The kids and I went to the park and walked with my mom.  The girls took their scooters and the boys walked and jogged the trail.  We all had fun being outside getting our exercise.
On another occasion Megan and I went with my mom and walked the parkway.  Always nice to get outside and get exercise.

Tyler's End of School Year Friend Party

Tyler was super busy with baseball when it was his birthday, so we decided to have an end of school party.  He invited a bunch of friends over and they all had a great time.
They played four square volleyball and had s'mores.  I laid out quite the spread of many different types of s'mores options.  The kids all seemed to really like it and they all had a fun time hanging out.  I am glad that we were finally able to do something special for Tyler with his friends.

Last Day of School

The kids all had a great school year this past year.  They all grew so much and loved all their experiences.  They are all excited for summer but are going to miss school because they love it so much.

We are all so excited for summer and all the fun plans that we have.

End of May Mayhem

Tony and the boys helped my dad with his chicken coop.  It looks really good, and it was nice that they were able to help.
Margie finished up the Mickey Mouse steppingstones and placed them in her front yard.  They look really good.
Megan got a bug bite on her arm that got really swollen.  She has never had that reaction before, but we were able to help her with bug bite cream.  Poor thing.

Elementary & Jr High Field Days

End of School Year Awards

Allie and Megan both received benchmark awards in Math and ELA.

Josh got a couple awards for academics and being part of the volleyball team.

Tyler got an award for being having one of the top grades on the baseball team.

I am so proud of all my kids and how hard they work at school.
