End of Spring Softball 2023

Megan had her end of season tournament this past weekend.  Unlike last year, they did not come from behind and win it all, but she had a great time playing.  She has improved a lot this past season and is looking forward to playing more in the fall.  She is really liking playing first or third base and is a really good hitter.  We love watching her play and look forward to all she will do in the future.

Mother's Day 2023

I had a nice Mother's Day.  Tony didn't have any meetings in the morning, and we were able to all go to church together.  Some of the men from the ward came into nursery so that Jamie and I could go to Relief Society.  In Relief Society they had milk and cookies for us ladies and a nice lesson.  After chuch the youth passed out Utah Truffle chocolate bars to all the ladies.

Adam Shepard made these super cute stands with the temple we got married in, our names, and the date we got sealed.  I love it so much and am so thankful that he did that for all of the moms of the youth.

Tony got me a shoulder massager and the girls made me many notes and fun home-made things.  We then ate dinner at Margie's that night.  It is always nice to have a day where your family thinks of you a little bit more than usual.

May Happinings

We've had a fun May so far.  We have had some crazy storms roll through and one left a super awesome sunset.

We also went to Los Garcia as a family, and it was super delicious, as usual.  I have been enjoying my mom being back in town and us going on our daily walks in the park.  Spring is in full force, and it is beautiful.  I love Spring, walking outside, and family time the best.

Jenni's Baptism

We got invited to go to Jenni's baptism.  Unfortunately, Megan had a softball game, so her and Tony weren't able to go.  Also, Tyler had to go to a baseball game, so he didn't go either.

So, Allie, Josh, and I drove up to Wellsville and had a great time.  We were extra early, so we went by Kevin's house first (mainly to see if we could get there on our own.  Tony normally drives and I don't always pay close attention to directions when he is driving).  With Josh and Allie's help, we drove to their house without any problem.  We then followed them to their church.

We were able to take some pictures for them before the program began.  Once they were ready for us in the font room, we all found our seats and waiting for it to start.  I was asked by Jenni to give a short talk on Baptism.  After that she got baptized.  Allie sat next to Josh so she could see and he put his arm around her and I thought that was super sweet.

We then all moved to a different room so that another family could use the font room.  Jenni was then confirmed and given the gift of the holy ghost.  It was so great to share that special moment with her.  It was also nice that family from out of town were able to zoom into the meeting.  Even Conner, who is currently on his mission in Arizona was able to attend virtually and even give a prayer.

Once it was over, we then went to Kevin and Betsy's house for lunch.  They had a delicious spread of food and the kids enjoyed playing with cousins.  After we let Allie play for a while, we decided it was time to started heading home.  The drive was good, and it was nice spending the day with our extended family.

End of Spring Baseball 2023

Another fun season of Spring baseball is in the books.  Tyler has grown so much this season as a player.  He has gotten a lot stronger and is getting better at each position he plays.  It was a rough start this season because of the wet weather, but they made up most of the games and it was fun watching the team play.

Tyler is looking forward to continuing to work on his baseball and play on the varsity team next year. If he keeps motivated, I think that he will continue to do amazing things next season.  He is a great kid on and off the field and has done a great job of keeping up on his grades while playing on the team.

Papa G and Grandma Kim's Birthday Party

Papa G and Grandma Kim have birthdays that are only 5 days apart.  So, we always enjoy celebrating their birthdays together.  We got lucky this year that Julie was intown picking up Averee from Snow College, so we had extra cousins.

We had a BBQ with hamburgers and chicken wings with lots of side dishes.  They kids had fun playing together and the adults enjoyed chatting with each other.  It's always the best time with extended family and we always love celebrating Grandma Kim and Papa G!

High School Musical Jr. 2023

Josh did such a great job playing Coach Bolton in High School Musical Jr.  He took the theater class at Valley Jr. High this last semester and had many afterschool practices.  He memorized all of his lines without any problem and delivered them near perfectly each night.  He really stole the show during the last seen of the show when he comes out to see his "son" singing in the audition.  He acted so shocked for so long, it was so funny to watch.  During the last two shows he added a face slap to his amazement.  Many people commented to me that they thought Josh was the best and that it was so funny when he did that.  We were spoiled with family members coming Thursday and Friday nights.  Friday night was the biggest group of family.  We all then went to Leatherby's afterwards and it was a lot of fun to spend extra time with family.  We are so proud of Josh for trying something new and we think that he did such a great job!

Random Spring Fun

We've been having a good and busy spring.  Allie got pink eye and had to stay home from school for a day.  Luckily it cleared up quickly.
Josh got to go do baptisms for the dead at the Ogden temple with kids from the ward (Tyler had to work).  He always enjoys doing that, even if he does have to meet super early in the morning.
A silly duck flew into our yard and we enjoyed watching it until Koda chased it off to the neighbor's yard.  Tyler decided he wanted to see how close to the duck he could get without scaring it off.  He got pretty close and then the girls went over and scared it off by getting too close too fast.
We have also been having some crazy weather.  We had probably the largest hail I have even seen in person.  Luckily it didn't hail for very long, so nothing was damaged.
The spring flowers are all starting to come out and the grass is getting green.  We love this time of year and look forward to all the beauty that comes with the spring.

Josh's Play for the Elementary Kids

A couple elementary schools were invited to go see the Jr. High musical as their first official performance.  So, some classes from Robert Frost walked over there, and I decided to sneak in and go with them.  I tried to help with Allie's class so that I earned my keep.

The girls were so excited to see Josh and the show.  The Jr. High kids did a great job with the musical and the kids all seemed to like it.  The kids from the other elementary school were very noisy during the show and I was disappointed how rude they were, but very proud of the kids from Rober Frost because they were so much better.

Josh did an amazing job and we all loved watching him.  We though he was the best.  Josh will perform four more times this week.  We have members of our ward going on Tuesday and Wednesday, then family on Thursday and Friday.  It's going to be a good week at the theater.

Tyler's First Date

Tyler had his first date.  A nice girl names, Rebecca, asked him out a couple weeks ago, but he couldn't make the timing work because of baseball so she said that they'd try again.  So they found a time that worked, and they had their date.  They doubled with a girl from our ward and her friend.  They are both Jr.'s so Carrie was able to drive them.
They went and played Skittle Bowling where you draw out a skittle and whatever color it is, is how you bowl the ball.  So, red would be bowl with one eye shut or bowl backwards, etc.  After bowling they went to the park and decorated sugar cookies and then played around until it was time to go home.  Tyler said that he had a fun time and looks forward to going on more dates.
