Tyler at Lily's Quinceanera

Spring Break in California - Day 3, 4, & 5: More Swimming, Family Game Night, Baseball Game & Double Date

We enjoyed a lot more swimming and spending time with family.  We went to Julie's for game night and a nacho bar.  We also went to Kimball's baseball game.  It is always fun to see little kids playing ball.  Our last night there we bought the kids pizza and Julie, Boyd, Tony, and I went out to dinner.  We went to a Mexican restaurant, and it was yummy food and good company.  The next day we woke up early and drove back home.  Even though we missed Tyler, we had a great trip!

Spring Break in California - Day 1 & 2: Driving, Swimming, Breakfast with Hot Rods, Tennis & Powder Puff Football

We got up early and drove all the way to Wendy's house.  We got there about 3:00 pm.  Wendy and Julie met us there.  The kids wanted to get in the pool as soon as they could.  Julie picked up Kimball and he got in the pool too.

Later that night we celebrated Alex's birthday with a BBQ.  It was good food and fun to hang out as a family and some of Wendy's friends.  We even got to meet Alex's girlfriend.  It was a good time.

On Friday morning we met up with Gabe at the airport restaurant for breakfast.  They were having a hot rod show at the same time.  After we ate, we walked around and saw all the cool cars and some cool airplanes.  After that we went back to my parents' house with Gabe to drop off their food storage and see the house again.

Wendy and Julie invited me to go to their work luncheon.  I got to participate in their meeting and have lunch with them at their work.  After Tony came and picked me up with the kids.  They went for burgers and shakes for lunch.  We then went back to Wendy's and let the kids swim again.  They sure love the water!

Later that day we got to go see Alex play tennis.  He played well and won his match.  After the match we went to a pizza place and ate dinner as a family.  It was at the fairground, so the kids got to play a little after we ate.  When we were all done, we then drove over to the high school to watch Averee play in the Powder Puff football game.  She played in a couple plays and we cheered really loud.  The kids loved watching the boys who were the cheer leaders.  They were very funny, and it was an enjoyable night.

More Spring Baseball Fun

Megan's 10 Birthday & Softball

Megan wanted to go to Red Robin for her birthday dinner.  She was so happy to get her unlimited root beer float.  This girl is so cute, sweet, smart, and all around awesome.  We are lucky that she is in our family.

Megan started softball.  They had a fun opening ceremony with the color guard and the national anthem.  She looks super cute in her softball uniform and is really enjoying playing softball so far.  She is doing a good job and is a great hitter!

Backyard S'more's

We bought a new patio set and we have loved having an outdoor living area.
We bought a firepit with our patio set. The kids were so excited to have S'mores and enjoy the warm spring night.

Allie's Last Indoor Soccer Game

Allie had her last indoor soccer game on Saturday.  She has done really well this season.  She worked hard at being more aggressive and going after the ball.  She had a fun team and a good coach who made it a great season.

Tyler's First High School Baseball Game & 15th Birthday

Tyler had his first high school baseball game on Saturday.  It was supposed to be on Tuesday but because of the snow, it was postponed.  He played in the JV game.  He got to catch for the last two innings and also got a hit that got him on base.  It was fun to watch him play, even though their team lost the game.

Tyler is such a great kid.  He has gotten all A's in school and seems to like it.  He likes being on the baseball team and going to school.  He is a good big brother and is getting stronger and taller all the time.  We are lucky to have him!

The next day was Tyler's birthday.  He turned 15 and seemed pretty happy about it.  He can now test to get his learner's permit.  He has done a little research into it, but he will need to do some studying before he is ready to take the test.  We gave Tyler an overnight hiking backpack for his birthday, and he seemed to really like that.  We are going to have a family party in a couple weeks for Megan and Tyler.  They always like that.

Family Achievements

The three younger kids have all received awards for their last quarter grades, achievements, and/or citizenship.  They got a certificate and a picture with the principal.  They are all great kids and it's nice to see them recognized for their hard work.

Tyler officially had baseball tryouts and officially made the team.  We are proud of his hard work and look forward to seeing him play.

Family Bingo Night

Julie and her kids came into town for the weekend, and we all got together for dinner and a rousing game of BINGO.  It was actually lots of fun playing with the family.  It was nice that the little kids could play with everyone else, and everyone got a prize.  Family time really is the best time.
