Tyler's First Job

Tyler started his first job today as a referee for the Taylorsville Recreation Center.  He was pretty excited.  He helped with keeping the time for Allie's game.  Then he got to be the actual referee for a different game of 1st and 2nd graders.  He said it was a good day.  I think he's going to like this gig.

Indoor Soccer 2021

The girls both started playing indoor soccer.  Megan really likes playing goalie and kicking the ball far.  Allie seems to like running around following the group of kids who are trying to kick the ball.  Sometimes she gets lucky and kicks the ball herself.  It is fun watching them play and trying something new.

Tyler's Halloween Party

Tyler got invited to go to a Halloween party with a bunch of kids from the stake.  They used the church and played lots of fun different games.  He had a good time with teenagers and was glad he got to go to the party since he felt he was too old to go trick-or-treating.

Halloween 2021

We started our night off by going to a trunk-or-treat at a church near us.  We met up with two of Megan's friends and their families.  We went around to all the cars there and we were very impressed with how well they all decorated their cars.  After, we drove to our ward building to get ready for our trunk-or-treating.  We waited for Megan's friends to come join us and once they got there, they went around to all the cars.  I stayed with the van and passed out candy while Tony took all the kids around to the cars and then around the neighborhood.

After I was done at the trunk-or-treat I was ready to go home, but I had drained my battery in the van by plugging in Halloween lights.  So, Brother Barnes tried to jump start the van, but it didn't work.  So, I got a ride home to pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters at my house.  Then when Tony and the kids were all done for the night, he took me back to the van to get it started and back home.  We didn't have very many kids come to the door, but that's what happens when Halloween is on Sunday, and we trick-or-treat on Saturday.  Maybe more kids will come tomorrow.

Friday Night Trunk-or-Treat

We found out a ward was having a trunk-or-treat on Friday night, so we decided to go.  They had some fun games for the kids and a bunch of cars where people were handing out candy.  It was a fun little activity to get us all excited for trick-or-treating the next day.

School Halloween Fun

The elementary finally had a Halloween parade again.  They did it outside this year around the track.  It was so fun to go and see all the kids in their cute costumes.  I was also able to help in all three of the kid's classroom.  It was a fun and busy day.

Fall Fun

My mom and I have been loving the beautiful fall colors while on our walks in the mornings.
We all went and saw a movie and it was lots of fun.  The first one since Covid.
Outside the mall they had this fun pumpkin display.

Disneyland Vacation - Day 9: Driving Home

We got up pretty early on Saturday morning so that we could pack up the car and start our long drive home.  We decided to just drive all the way home instead of staying in Vegas or St. George.  We had no problem driving out of Southern California.  That is definitely a benefit of leaving early.

We just went through a drive through for lunch and then we had time to stop in Beaver and went to their creamery.  We had never been there before, and it reminded us of a small Tillamook creamery.  We all picked a yummy ice cream and then walked around their store.  The girls liked their interactive area and wished we could have stayed longer.

We then got back in the car and finished driving home.  We unloaded Margie's van and then started unpacking all our stuff.  We had such a great time on vacation with Margie at Disneyland and really can't wait until we can go again.

Disney Vacation - Day 8: California Adventure & Disneyland

We started our last day in California Adventure.  We were able to get a reservation for the new Spiderman Ride, Web Slinger.  It was an easy-going ride that everyone can ride where you fling your arms out like Spider Man to kill the spider-bots.  It was a fun ride, and we were glad we were able to do it.

Megan got brave this day and went on the Incredicoaster.  She did really good on it.  She didn't love it, but she didn't hate it either.  So, I think she will grow to really like it as she gets bigger.  Megan had a hard time picking out her souvenirs the day before so this day she decided that she wanted a small backpack.  The trick was figuring out which one she wanted.  She decided picking one that she would like now and when she is older would be best.  So, she found a super cute Minnie backpack and she loves it.

We stayed in California Adventure until about 4:00 this day before we went over to Disneyland.  We went on as many rides we could before the lines got too long. The kids wanted to do a couple more rides before going home.  So, some went on Indiana Jones while the rest of us checked out some shops.

Then they wanted to go on Splash Mountain.  Allie didn't want to go, and I said that I would take her on Pooh.  But then Pooh was closed so I took her to the Tiki Room while they went on Splash Mountain.  We were able to walk right into the Tiki Room show.  After we walked to meet the others at Splash Mountain and the Pooh ride was back open, so we went on that ride too.  It was perfect timing.  After we were done, we met the others outside of Splash Mountain.  They came off the ride soaking wet and ready to go home.  It was pretty funny to Allie and I who were not wet.

We decided to get a treat from the candy shop before leaving the park.  The shop inside the park was really busy so we went to the shop in Downtown Disney.  That too was busy, but we were able to all pick out a treat.  It was the perfect way to end our amazing trip to Disney.
