Anniversary Trip - Day 1 & 2

Tony and I started out our anniversary trip by dropping off the kids at Margie's house.  We got on the road about 9:00 am or so.  We drove to Reno the first day.  We stopped in Battle Mountain for lunch but besides that we drove straight to Reno.

We checked into our hotel and then went to Costco for gas and to walk around.  We had planned on eating our left over pizza from lunch for dinner but our hotel didn't have a microwave so we had to make other plans.  We weren't super hungry so Tony found a shake place and picked us up a shake and fries to share.  That worked out perfectly.

The next day we were going to drive straight to Medford, but we realized that we were only and hour and half away from Wendy's house.  So we got up grabbed our bagged breakfast (it was pathetic) and started our drive to Wendy's.

We have never been to Wendy's new house.  It was beautiful.  She took us around her neighborhood in her fun golf cart.  Tons of hills and beautiful houses there.  The weather was perfect too.  It was so warm.

After our tour Gabe and Wendy took us out to lunch at a local place.  The food was yummy and company was even better.  After lunch we went back to her house to say good bye to the kids before heading back on the road.

We then drove to Medford through Mt. Shasta.  It was so pretty and a fun drive.  We got into Medford when it was dark so we checked into our hotel and then asked the front desk for ideas for dinner.  She suggested a local steak house.  We figured we would give it a try since we were kid free we could splurge a little.

This steak house ended up being very expensive.  Luckily I don't eat tons so we just shared a steak.  It was good and a fun experience.  After dinner we went back to the hotel and got some needed rest for our drive tomorrow.

Before we left Medford the next day, I wanted to go and see the temple.  We had found this temple years ago when we had stayed in Medford but I wanted to go again.  It is a pretty little temple and it seemed to make up for the fact that we didn't make it to church that day.  After we saw the temple we headed to Grant's Pass.

Cabin Weekend!

We decided to go to the cabin for one more weekend before the weather turns cold.  This time we stayed for two nights.  It was so nice up there.  We did tons of four-wheeling, video game playing, eating yummy food, and spending lots of family time together.  Love it all!

Fall Ball 2020

Tyler had a great time playing Fall Baseball.  He was the main catcher on his team and got to play for the majority of each game.  He was also one of the top hitters on his team.  Because of Covid we didn't take the other kids to the games with us, so it was pretty nice to be able to focus on the game.  We really do love watching him play and it is fun to see him improve.

Park & Chili Fun

We went to the park to play pickle ball and let the girls play on the playground.  After the park we went to see Tony at work at Murray to see how they make Chili.  It was fun to see how they make the soup and to spend time with Tony.

Natural History Museum

Tony's dad got tickets to the museum and invited our family to go with him and Margie.  I wasn't feeling very good that day so I stayed home while Tony took the kids with his parents.  They all had a great time and enjoyed the museum.

Josh's 11th Birthday

Josh turned 11 yesterday.  He got to take treats to school and they sang Happy Birthday to him.  Then after school he wanted Crock Pot Chicken for dinner.  I even offered going to Texas Roadhouse, but he preferred the chicken.  That makes a mama happy that he likes my cooking.
After dinner and computer time we made some snow cones for his birthday dessert.  All the kids are really enjoying our new Snow Cone machine.  Then we had a couple more presents for Josh to open and then called it a night.  He was a little bummed that I didn't let him stay up later now that he's 11, but such is life.  Besides that I think that he had a pretty good birthday. We love Josh so much.  He is such a sweetheart and truly does give the best hugs.  He is so good at helping out and always asks me what else he can do for me.  He is a great kid and we are lucky he is in our family!

Josh & Allie's Family Birthday Party

Crazy & Fun Times

We bought the girls matching dresses and they wore them on Sunday.  I bought the dresses a little big, but they still both looked so cute in them.  My baby girls looked way too grown up.  Theses kids are all growing up way too fast.
Last Tuesday we had a crazy windy storm that blew down lots of trees and a lot of people lost power for multiple days.  We only lost one section of our facia on our house, so that was good.  My parents lost a really big part of their tree in their back yard.  I went over to pick the ripe tomatoes for bottling the next day and took a picture with their crazy tree.  The wind was pretty wild.  They said it was like hurricane strength winds.  Just one more crazy event to add to our crazy year of 2020!

Puppy Love

My parents and Julie both got new puppies within a few days of each other.  My mom got a Jack Russel Terrier and named him Eddie.  He is so little and snuggly and super fun to watch jump around and play with Bella.
Julie's dog is Charlie.  He is Bingo's son.  He is half Golden and half golden Lab.  He is so cute.  We have only gone over their once so far to see him and he was so cute.  He played with Bingo and then rested a lot.  I got to snuggle him while he slept and that was the best.  He is so cute and soft.  We love that puppy too.  It is so fun to see the boys playing with these puppies and being so good with animals.

Allie's 6th Birthday

Our sweet baby girl turned 6.  She loved taking treats to school and being the special birthday girl the day before her birthday.  They didn't have school on her birthday so she celebrated the day before.  On her birthday she got McDonald's for lunch.  She got to open up some presents and loved all the extra attention.  She is a sweet little girl.  She loves all things girly.  She is smart and funny and still loves sneaking into our bed some nights.  She is adored by everyone in the family and we love that she's ours!
