Oregon 2020 - Day 5 - Crabbing & Crab Bake
After the Farmer's Market it was crabbing time. We went to the docks and watched them crab off the docks before Josh and I had our turn to go on the boat and crab off the boat. This was our first time getting to crab off the boat. I mainly watched and stayed out of the way but it was super fun to watch and especially fun to watch Josh. Josh sat where Joe normally sits when they go on their boy trip so Josh said he was Joe. He was pretty funny. He said, my name is Joe...just call me Joe. So now on a boat he is Joe.
We caught plenty of crabs and had tons for the crab feast. Tyler and Megan ate lots of crab and loved it. Josh tried some for the first time and didn't love but didn't hate it. Allie didn't want to try it but grandma got her to, she didn't like it. Maybe next year. Crab day is always a fun day!
Oregon 2020 - Day 3
We stopped at a light house before we got to Coos Bay. It was really pretty and the kids really liked the gift shop. The three younger kids all got souvenirs. Margie loves light houses so it was fun to go see one with her.
Then we went to Coos Bay. My parents and Kevin's family were already there so we chatted with them for a while before we went to Walmart to pick up supplies and lunch.
We then checked into our cottage and get everything unpacked and then headed to the beach. It was a beautiful day on the beach and we soaked in every bit of sun that we could. We love being on the beach in Oregon.
Oregon 2020 - Day 2
Sunday we drove...a lot. We had breakfast at our hotel before we left. It was a little different then usual because of Covid. The hotel workers gave us the food that we asked for and then we took the food up to our room to eat. It was different, but we were thankful that they still gave us breakfast.
This is the day that we drove the most. We drove all the way to Eugene, Oregon. Our hotel was close to the University. We decided that we were not super hungry and thought ice cream sounded like the perfect dinner. We found a DQ close to our hotel. We got the boys some burgers, and fries and ice cream for the rest of us. We took it all back to our hotel and ate it there. Then we relaxed and enjoyed our evening in the hotel.
Oregon 2020 - Day 1
Day 1 - Margie came over to our house in the morning on Saturday. We packed up our stuff in her brand new van that she just picked up the night before. Then we started our drive towards Ontario, Oregon. We stopped and had lunch on our way and then made it to the hotel in the early evening.
We decided to go swimming after we got all checked in and unloaded our stuff in the hotel room. The pool was very nice. We had the pool to our selves for most of the time we were there. The kids loved playing in the water and we let them go for a long time.
After swimming we showered and got on our pajama's. Margie and Tyler then went and picked up some pizza and brought it back to our hotel room. It was the perfect way to end the day. The food was yummy and we all then rested before going to bed. A great way to start our vacation!
