Still So Sad

Megan's toe is still super sad looking.  It isn't as red any more, but it has more of a blister look to it on top.  I am still just glad that we got her meds and that she is getting better.  I hope that she starts sleeping better, it's been a rough couple of nights.

Poor Little Piggy

Well...Megan's toe is defiantly infected.  They took an x-ray of the toe while at the doctor and it's not broken.  I didn't think it was but I guess it is a standard procedure.  The doctor put Megan on an antibiotic and says that should fix it.
The doctor said she probably stepped on something or the nail was cut too short and that is how she got the infection.  Megan has really small pinky toe nails (they are super weird...she got them from Tony) so they hardly ever need to be trimmed, so I don't think that was it.
It is super sad to look at all red and swollen.  It is also really painful for Megan.  I hope that the antibiotic kicks in soon and that she'll feel better soon.  What a weird thing to have happen to Megan.  She is one tough cookie.

Tyler Lost Tooth #2

Tyler's tooth has been loose for a while now.  I thought maybe it was close to being ready to come out but when I tried to pull it out it didn't come.  So this past Sunday after church I tried again.  It wasn't coming so I told Tyler to just push it forward hard (then I did it myself while telling him what to do).  It then came forward a lot.  I thought maybe it was already out, but it was still hanging on by a tread.  So then I grabbed and pulled it out.  It bled for a few minutes but then stopped.  Tyler was really excited that the tooth fairy came and brought him a dollar bill instead of the four quarters he got last time.  He is growing up so fast.  I love him so much!

It's H.O.T...Hot Hot Hot

Tyler flying off the slide into the pool.
"Move over Tyler" here comes Joshy.
It has been so darn hot lately.  It hasn't been the usual dry heat but a really humid heat (well humid for Utah).  I have had a hard time with this humidity.  I am sweating all the time and even though our swamp cooler is working really good, it's just not as good when it's humid.

Tyler doing his silly pose with his otter pop.
One of the ways the kids like to cool down is by playing in our swimming pools.  They aren't anything fancy, but they do the trick on a hot day.  I got the pool out today and a couple of days ago.  The boys play in the water all day when the pools are out.  They usually go in the morning while they are filling up, after lunch and a show, and then again after another break, and then again if I let them go after dinner.  It's a lot of changing in and out of swimsuits, sunscreen, and otter pops.

Today I decided to put the pool in a different spot in the back yard today because our usual spot got pretty muddy last time.  With all the splashing that spot got really wet, so I decided to share the water wealth by putting it somewhere else.  Last time I had the boys fill their big "suck'um up" water guns with water and go and squirt out the water on all the dry spots on the lawn.  I figured it was fun for them and the spots got watered.  I also got a big bucket and dumped pool water on the dry spots.  I don't feel so bad using lots of water the fill the pools when we use it for the lawn.

Yea for otter pops and water.
I love watching Tyler and Josh in the pools.  They love to get the slide from the play area and put it in the pool.  Then they do tons of different things with the slide from jumping off it into the water to sliding backwards and sidewards.  It is fun to see them using their imaginations and playing together so well.  They have such a great time and get in lots of exercise.  This is what summer is all about!

Megan wasn't super into it today.  She asked to get her suit on after her nap (when I say asked I mean she pointed to her swimsuit and grunted), but then didn't get into the water once it was on.

Josh enjoying his otter pop on the swing.
Megan and Josh LOVE otter pops.
I noticed yesterday that Megan's little pinky toe was red, but didn't really think too much about it.  Then today I checked it and it was more red and looked swollen.  The part by her teeny tiny nail was white.  So when Tony got home from work (luckily no beans today) he took her into the Urgent Care.  They are there now waiting to be seen.  I called to get her into a pediatrician but they were all booked.  I really can't wait until our pediatrician comes back in September, we miss her.  They told Tony it would be an hour and a half wait.  I hope they are quicker because that is a long time to wait to see a doctor with a 15 month old.

Koda found him a nice cool spot where he wont get wet.

Boys Sleeping Downstairs

Megan and Josh on the bottom bunk
A couple weeks ago when our basement flooded we had all our carpets cleaned.  We decided that we would take down the bunk beds that were upstairs and put them back up downstairs after the carpets we cleaned.  This meant that the boys were going to be sleeping downstairs and Megan would have her own room.
Megan is saying "cheese."
The boys have liked having their own room and have done really good sleeping downstairs.  Josh has come up a few times during the night when he has had a hard time sleeping (mainly during the thunder storms).  Besides that Josh has done really good.  I was most worried about Josh because he has been afraid of the basement for a long time.  But we talked to the boys about them moving downstairs for about a week before it happened, so I think that helped Josh a lot.  We then also got them a shelving unit from IKEA that has been nice for all their toys.
It is fun getting to these different stages in life and seeing our kids maturing and growing.  So fun having all three kids in regular beds and being so big.

Megan's Big Girl Bed

Just the bed with the quilt Grandma Kim made.
On Friday we went to Costco and bought Megan a twin mattress.  With the crib being at the lowest setting it is just too hard for me to put her down into it without waking her up.  So usually I just hold her for naps and then Tony puts her down at nights.  But with green beans starting it will just be me at nights, so we thought we'd just get Megan her bed now.
Megan and her friends on her new bed.
We set it up and she (and the boys) loved it right away.  We didn't buy a box spring to go with it because that would make it too high for her to reach.  So we had a bed frame and we just put a board on the frame before we put on the mattress.  It works out really good for little kids just starting in a big kid bed.
The Kids enjoyed jumping all over it and having a grand time. Megan has done pretty good so far sleeping in her new bed.  We either lay down with her and give her her bottle or we rock with her and then put her down.  She has done great with her bed at naps time too.  It has been nice being able to get things done and not be stuck in a chair holding Megan while she naps.  Nights have been pretty good.  She sleeps for several hours but still wakes at nights.  Tony or I then go in and lay with her until she goes back to sleep.  Some day she will sleep all through the night...ahh...someday.
Megan rocking out on Tigger.
So far she hasn't fallen out of the bed, so that is very good.  The crib has been taken down and put down stairs.  I guess when we know for sure that we're done having kids then we can sell it or give it to someone who needs it.  That is kind of exciting to think about.

Silly Tyler

This afternoon I was hanging out with the boys in the office when Tyler asked if he could make Grandma Margie a card.  He started coloring her favorite shape (a triangle - says Tyler - Josh thinks her favorite shape is a diamond - they had a pretty good conversation about who was right) and then he started looking through my stickers to add some to the card.  He found some of Jesus and said he wanted to add one to the card because "When I look at Grandma, it makes me feel like Jesus's mom is there."  That was quite the compliment to Margie!  It was a super sweet thing to say and I can only hope that someday some small child will say something that nice about me.

Independence Day Fun

We all had such a fun 4th of July.  The day started off with the Murray Parade.  The kids had tons of fun collecting all the candy and playing with family.  Lloyd and Margie were able to come and enjoy the parade with us and my family.
Megan, Tyler, and Josh waiting for the fun to start.
Tyler and josh enjoying some treats while waiting for the next group of floats to come by.
Tony and Megan enjoying the fun.
After the parade we went over to my parents house.  This year my mom wanted to do something extra special for the grandkids so my parents rented a super fun bouncy water house.  The kids had so much fun on the slide.  They seriously spent four...five...six...hours playing on this house.  It was so much to watch them go up and down over and over again.  At one point they would jump from the top and land on the bottom of the slide and totally bounce off into the little pool at the bottom.  Since Josh is so little he totally flew when he went down.  It was a great idea and I think that they are going to rent another one for next year.

Tony and Megan at the top of the slide.  Megan didn't like going up the ladder and wasn't super happy to be up on the slide.
Tony and Megan at the bottom of the slide.  Megan didn't really like the slide.  The water was really cold still.
Tyler sliding down the big water slide.
Joshy coming down fast.  So much fun.
Megan had her own little pool that she liked playing in.  She also liked climbing in the sand box and getting all dirty after being in the pool.  Silly girl.
Megan relaxing on the deck after playing in the water.
Tyler enjoying his lunch on the deck while drying off it the sun.
Josh eating his lunch...chips.  That's all I could get this kid to eat.  Trouble.
Tony and Megan relaxing in the nice cool front room.  Tony had to take Megan on a drive to get her to finally go down for a nap.  She didn't want to miss any of the fun.
Joshy wearing some sweet goggles.  He didn't want them on his eyes, he wanted them over his eyes...interesting.
Ben and Gavin chilling on the floor together.  So cute.  Megan laid down with them a little later, she isn't much bigger then these guys.
Megan enjoying some of Averee's birthday cupcakes while we waited to start the fireworks.
Tyler enjoying the fireworks on the curb.
Josh started watching the fireworks on the chairs but quickly moved to a blanket across the street.  All the kids ended up across the street for some reason.  Us adults didn't mind.
Tony took Megan on a ride on the scooter.  She was getting tired and really wanted off when I came to take their pictures.
Tyler and Josh at the neighbors across the street watching the fireworks.  Such a fun day.

Pool Time

Today was a pretty fun day.  We bought a new pool and I got it out with our little pool and filled them up with water.  The boys moved the slide into the bigger pool and had so much fun sliding down into the water.
Megan liked going down the slide into the pool too.  I would have Tyler stand at the bottom of the slide to make sure that she could stand back up.  He did a good job helping her.
She spent most of her time going back and forth from the small pool to the big one. She had lots of fun.

Josh loved going down backwards and every time he did his swimsuit would fall down.  The same thing happened to Tyler when he went backwards.  Josh was slow to pull up his suit each time, it was pretty funny.
It was so hot that I even got on my swimsuit and got into the pools.  Megan's little pool wasn't as cold so I started there but then went in the bigger pool.  It felt so nice.  Tyler got my camera and took some pictures, this was the best one of me.  Embarrassing?  Yes, but it was fun and cool.
