Last soccer game of the season

Tyler had his last soccer game today.  He did really good.  He didn't score a goal today, like he has done the last two games, but he didn't whine or complain at all about playing.  He got a metal when the game was all over and he really liked that.  It was really cute to see all the kids line up to get their pictures taken/  I am not sure if they play in the spring, but if they do I am sure that Tyler will want to play again.

It has been a really cold and raining week this past week.  It was hard on all of us (Josh especially).  I don't think that it is suppose to rain for a while, so that is very good news for playing outside.  It is definitely fall and I just hope that it stays for a couple weeks before winter decides to come.

A couple different employment opportunities may be coming up at Tony's work.  Tony may be looking into them and seeing if they might work for him and our family.  It is exciting to think that he might start progressing more within his work.  He has worked hard and totally deserves it.  But who knows, they might not even work for him, but it would be nice if it would.

Weekend Family Fun

On Thursday after Tony got off of work we headed up to the cabin.  We haven't been in a while and really wanted to get up there before it got too cold.  It was beautiful there.  The leaves were all changing and they were really bright yellow, orange, green, and red.  We went on a couple four-wheeler rides and the boys loved it.  It was fun to take them around and talk to Tyler about the changing colors.  We also saw some of the fishes in the pond jump up out of the water and eat the bugs flying by.  That was very neat to see.
On our first ride we saw a mom deer with her baby.  She just stood on the road and watched us for the longest time, so Tyler and Josh got a really good look at her.  We spent the night up there and it was a rough night for Josh.  Something about babies and the cabin, they just never sleep well there?  Then we had some breakfast before heading out for another ride.  After our ride my parents came up to deliver a new table.  We were able to help them bring in the new and take out the old.  It was a nice time up there and we hope to be able to go up again soon.
Tyler had his second to last soccer game on Saturday.  He did pretty good and scored a goal again.  It was still a battle at times to get him to go out and play, but he did have a good time.  Sunday we spent the day at Tony's parents with his whole family.  It was really nice having everyone (minus Tim who is in Iraq) there watching conference.  I had been thinking about Tony's brother and sister-in-law who live in Logan and are moving in the fall to go to Optometry school a lot this past week, so I was really glad that they were able to come down.  It is sad to think that we won't be seeing them for a long time when they move.  I don't see us being able to afford to go and visit them or them being able to afford to come home much, so that kind of sucks.  Maybe they will go somewhere close, I guess we will see.
Tony is working the later shift again this week.  I am already extremely lonely and bored.  It is a cooler, raining day, so we haven't been able to go outside and play.  I am really going to miss the warm weather this winter.  Josh and Tyler LOVE to play outside.  I hate to wish time away, but I really can't wait until this work shift week is over, I miss having my husband home in the evenings...I am too spoiled with my awesome husband.

Random Thoughts

Here are my random thoughts for tonight:

* I am more then ready for Tony to get a different job.  He works hard and deserves it.  He could use the change and we could use the money.  I truly can't wait for it to happen for him.

* I am tired.  Josh hasn't been the best sleeper lately and it is having its toll on me.

* I have been going walking with Josh and my mom while Tyler is at preschool and I have really enjoyed it.  It will be a sad day when it is too cold to go on walks.

* I really do love my family and Tony's family.  I love spending time with them and knowing that they are there for me and that I am here for them too.  It is a nice feeling.  I wish all my family lived close so that I could see them more often.

* BYU isn't playing very good this season.  Not such a good thing to do right before you become independent, but every team has re-building seasons every now and then.  Win or loose I will always be a BYU fan and be cheering loud and proud for them!

* Loosing my job has made me a more humble person - so that is good.  I have learned to do will less and still be just fine.  I am still me without my job title, my friends and family still love me, and most of all...I still love me.  Having my "career" didn't define who I am...how I live my life will do that.

* I am not perfect.  My kids are not perfect.  My house is not perfect...and that is okay!

* Sometimes stuff happens and you don't know why, you may never know why, but it is all for a purpose...I need to trust that!

* FAITH...beyond patience I need to have faith...Heavenly Father doth provide...but it is on His time...not mine!

* I really like being the funny one.  I like when people laugh at my comments and jokes.  I think that I am freaking hilarious....is that such a bad thing?  I think that a lot of that has to do with my weight (I may not be skinny but I am funny).  Maybe I need to see a shrink?

* You really are the best parent before you have children.  I remember thinking that I would or wouldn't do so many different things before I had kids and totally judged moms for doing or not doing those things...oh how dumb I was.  It is totally different when you have your own kids!  I have repented of my evil ways.

* I guess that is enough of my thoughts for one night.  Last thought.  I know that my Heavenly Father lives and that his son Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected for you and me.  I know that through our Heavenly Father and Christ all things are possible.  Having children has helped me understand just a tiny bit the relationship between Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  How hard it had to have been for Heavenly Father to see his son on that cross...how blessed I am to know these things!!!

Life with a one and three year old

It is so fun having two children.  I have loved being the mom of two.  Josh just loves Tyler and Tyler really loves Josh.  They are even starting to sort of play with each other.  I took Josh in for his one year well child check-up on Wednesday and the doctor says that he looks really good.  Here are his stats:

Weight: 56%
Height: 42%
Head: 20%

When you look at him I don't think that his head looks small compared to his body, but those stats would suggest otherwise.  He really is doing great.  He is such a happy kid and is becoming a walking champ.  He will just walk in circles in the family room as if practicing his walking.  He can totally climb onto the fire place bench and onto Tyler's bed.  He is going to catch up with Tyler before I know it.  My boys (all three) sure do keep me busy, but I wouldn't want it any other way!

Scout camp, soccer, and a PARTY!

Friday Tony took Tyler to scout camp with him and he had a wonderful time.  He got to go with all the big scout boys and sleep in a tent with Tony.  While Tony and Tyler were away Josh and I went over to my parents for a while and then went to dinner with the girls.  After Julie and I went over to Sam's Club for a little shopping.  It was fun just hanging out with happy kids.
Josh and his huge cake
Then I took a very tired Josh home and got him to bed, when I started getting stomach cramps.

Then it happened, sure agony!  I was sick...and sick bad.  I must have eaten something bad and I wanted it out of my body any way possible.  I just prayed and prayed that I could get it out and that I would start feeling better (and that Josh wouldn't wake up since it was just me).  Josh actually slept all night without me having to get up with him, so that was a huge blessing in it's self.  It was a very long night!
Opening fun presents
Josh slept until about 8:00 and then had some breakfast, but then ended up throwing that up, so then I was worried that he had a touch of what I did.  He didn't have a fever and was still happy as can be, so I wasn't too worried.  Tony and Tyler got back around 10 and then had to get ready for Tyler's soccer game at 11:00.  We got ready and headed out (even though I still felt like crap, I still wanted to see the game).  Tyler played pretty good the first part of the game, but then when his grandparents and cousins came he didn't want to play so much.  But he did wear his jersey!
After eating yummy cake
Yummy cake!
Then Tony's parents took us to lunch (didn't eat much) and then we headed home to get ready for Josh's birthday party.  I was going to make a cake and cupcakes, but with me getting sick it just didn't happen.  So Tony went and picked up a cake at Costco and we were ready to go.  The party was very low key and we mainly just hung out chatting, but I think that people had a good time.  Tony still gave Josh some cake and he was really cute with it.  Thanks to everyone who came and supported our family.  We love you all very much.

Happy Birthday Joshua!

Josh turned one year old today.  I can't believe how fast that went by.  I feel like I was just pregnant and brought him home.  Tony works evenings this week so he was home this morning so Tony got to come with us to take Tyler to school.  Then we ran errands while Tyler was at school and then went home.  Josh took an awesome 3-4 hour nap and then played the night away.  We even went to Daddy work to have dinner with him.  Tyler and Josh love that.  Cousin Robin came to hangout and we all had a good time.  We are going to have his birthday party on Saturday, so that should be fun.

Josh is such a happy baby.  He is sweet as can be and has really started giving hugs and kisses.  He loves to crawl everywhere so fast, but is quickly learning to walk.  I wouldn't call it walking yet, but he is getting better and better each day.  He has such a fun laugh and loves to be really loud.  He likes to hear his echo so he is extra loud at places like the grocery store.  He is looking more and more like Tyler and is cute as can be.  He loves ice cream and can't get enough.  He is just like Tony in so many ways, it is adorable.  I love him to death and am so happy that he is in our family.  This is to you Josh!

And he played soccer!

Tyler had his second soccer game today and he actually played in it.  He didn't want to wear any of his uniform today, so I let him wear his Buzz Lightyear gray shirt and just some regular shorts.  He was still pretty defiant at times, but he did play a lot of the game.  We had bought him a play sword yesterday (against my better judgment) and I had to use that as leverage for him to go and play.
You could definitely tell who the three year old kids were compared to the four year old kids.  I am hoping that each game Tyler will do better and better.  By the end of the game Tyler didn't really want to run for the ball anymore, so he started playing goalie and did a really good job.  He stopped two balls from going in.  Unfortunately they don't have goalies on this league, so Tyler had to stop.  He wasn't too happy about that.  But it was fun seeing him stop the ball.  Maybe he will play goalie like his Mamma.
Next week we get to wear red, so maybe he will even wear his uniform.  The coach's kid was sick so she didn't go, so since Tony is the assistant he coached the team.  He did a good job and enjoyed it.  This week went much better then last time and it seemed like all the kids played a little better.

After the soccer game we went to Kennecott to go to a lunch with Tony's dad.  He sub contracts out with Kenecott a lot so he gets to go to there big lunch things every now and then.  It was fun to see around a little bit and to have lunch.  Tyler got to color, dress up in the fire man's uniform, and ride a bus up and down the big hill.  We had a pretty good time.

After that we went to Tony's parents to watch BYU get swashed.  It was a pretty sad game that I don't wish to relive.  I sure don't hope that it how the season is going to go.  Everyone is allowed one bad game, so I just hope that they got it out of their systems.  I enjoy watching the games, but it is much more fun when they play well.

Define WALKING?

Josh is very close to walking.  He took his first step up at the cabin on Friday and then three steps on Saturday at Tony's parents house (during the BYU game - GO COUGS).  Since then he has been taken a couple steps at a time here or there, until last night when he took about 10 little steps from me to Tony.  THEN this morning he did about 6 steps...so is that walking?  I don't really think so.  I think walking is when one can walk from one end of the room to the other, but it is pretty darn close.  Tony said a little while ago that he thought Josh would be walking by his birthday and I said that I didn't think he would, so now it is like a little bet we have going.  But we didn't really define "walking" so I guess we will see who wins.  His birthday is on Tuesday...I think that I might lose!

Tyler's First Day of Preschool

Tyler had his first day of preschool today.  He goes to a friend of mines house and she has about 7 other kids and does a fun preschool there.  He was so excited to go.  We went and visited last week and that made him really excited.  This morning he woke up and wanted to change into his new school cloths first thing and get on his back pack.  He was really excited.  After breakfast and getting ready, we brushed our teeth and headed out the door.
I talked to him last night and this morning about how Josh and I were just going to go and drop him off and then we would pick him up after school and that seemed to really help when it came time for me to leave him there.  He went right to the door and made him self at home.  His teacher, Teacher Kim as we say, took our picture and we said our goodbyes.  He had no problem with me leaving and did great.
Josh and I went to my moms to hang out and I was hoping for Josh to take a good nap.  Josh played for a while and then he acted tired so I put him down in the pack-n-play I had in the car.  He was not happy with that and cried really hard for about 10 minutes but then finally went to sleep.  While he slept I helped my mom peel tomatoes for a soup she was making.  Josh only slept about 45 minutes and then woke up crying (never a good thing).  So we played a little longer before it was time to pick up Tyler.
I went to the door and Tyler was all ready to go and happy to see me.  He showed me his fun picture he made and said he had a good time.  I was glad that he did well and that he had such a good time.  He really needs time with friends, and learning cool things is totally awesome too.  Since Kim has done this before she knows what to work on and it is nice to know that he is getting that extra knowledge outside the home.  I would like to think that I teach him tons of wonderful things, but I am sure that this is all icing on the cake.  My baby started school...and there is no going back...time goes by too fast my friend...too fast!

Week in Review

It has been a pretty good week.  Tony went back to work and me and the boys went back to our normal routine.  We got to go for stroller rides and play in every different room in the house and make messes every where (which I generally picked up right away -- but not all of them -- I am getter better at my OCD need to have things tidy).

I had my follow-up appointment with my doctor who operated on me.  He said that everything looks good.  I saw him at a different office then his main one, so he didn't have the pictures, but he said that he would mail me a copy -- that should be interesting.  I asked him if my cyst was the biggest he had removed, he said no but that it was the coolest.  *** I will take the coolest any day of the week ***  He told me that it was mostly filled with liquid but that it did have some hair and a lot of teeth!  Not little baby teeth, but adult sized teeth - CRAZY!  I should have gotten to take them and gotten some dough from the tooth fairy.  I always think of these things when it is too late.

We went up to the cabin on Friday and had a really good time.  I took my camera, but then didn't take any pictures.  Really smart of me.  We went for a couple four-wheeler rides (both boys feel asleep on the last ride) and the boys really enjoyed it.  We even saw a moose up close on the second ride.  We played games, ate lunch, and fed the fish in the pond.  My parents put like 200 new trout in the pond this year, so we are hoping they survive.  We did see tons of huge gold fish that they put in a couple of years ago, so that was neat.  We really enjoy the cabin and should go there more often.

Saturday was the first BYU football game.  It is so much fun to watch them play.  We don't have cable so we go over to Tony's parents and watch with them.  We met up with Tony's mom at Sears where she got Tyler a new school outfit.  Then we headed to is parents to eat dinner and watch the game.  Josh took three steps while we watched the BYU game.  He had taken one step the day before up at the cabin so it was way fun to see him take a couple more.  Tony thinks that he will be walking by his birthday, but I don't think it will happen that fast.  I guess we will see who is right on the 14th. We had to leave after the 3rd quarter (silly kids think they need to go home and go to bed).  But we were glad to hear that they pulled off the win.  GO COUGS!!!
