Happy Easter

Today was Easter...you wouldn't know it by the looks of it outside. When we woke up there was a couple inches of snow on the ground. One day snowing the next nice and sunny. I wish that there was a little more nice and sunny lately. We have gotten snow a lot this week. That has made it hard for Tony to work on the fence. Even with the snow he has been able to get a good amount done.
After the first session of conference the Easter Bunny came to our house. Since it was cold, we got Tyler in his coat and then he started the hunt. They were in the back, side, and front yards. He got ball shaped eggs with plain colored eggs. When he wants to eat a treat he asks for a type of ball and that is what egg he gets. It is pretty fun. He had a good time finding all the eggs. Their were so many eggs we had to empty out the basket half way through. Josh was taking a nap, so he missed all the fun. I think that next year I will have to have some just for Tyler and then some just for Josh. That way they get an equal amount of eggs and probably candy appropriate eggs too. Good times.
During the second session of conference we went to Tony's parents house and spent some time with his family. It was lots of fun to hang out with his siblings that live in Logan. Then we had a nice ham dinner with all of Tony's family. We haven't all been together for a long time. Tony's mom even took a picture of us all. Tyler always has so much fun with his cousins. He just loves them and I love seeing him play so well with them. It was a fun Easter day. I am grateful for this day and its reminder about the resurrection of the Savior. Not that I think that I personally need the reminder (I think about the atonement and such often), but I think that the world in general needs a reminder about how much the Savior did for all of us and the fact that HE LIVES!!! He resurrected, has a body, and lives! What a blessing to know that.

Fun with cousins and snow

Today I got to watch my niece. She is 5 and her and Tyler generally get a long really well. They played lots of different games all day long and had a great time. Tyler just told me that he had a fun day with Averee and then with Hayden when their mom came to get her. It was nice having a playmate for Tyler and Josh loved watching them climb, jump, and go crazy all over the house. He sure does love the kids.
Tony is working evenings this week, so it has helped the day go by a little quicker having Averee over. It has been snowing all day today. It is no big surprise that it is still snowing in March, but I wasn't expecting this much snow. It isn't sticking to the roads, but collecting on the grass. It is really pretty and great for our snow totals. You have got to love Utah weather. It will snow on Halloween and Easter, but not on Christmas. Good stuff.
I think that Josh is getting some more teeth. He has been way drooly and fussy. Tyler has a dentist appointment tomorrow, so I think that I will ask the dentist to look in Josh's mouth and tell me if he can tell where they are coming in. That should be fun stuff. I hope that Tyler does well at the dentist. He did the first time that he went...I guess we will see.

Deseret Dairy , Fence, and Tooth #2

A couple of weeks ago we went and visited Tony at the Dairy. We like to take him dinner there when he works nights. Tyler loves to see all the big machines that they have at the Dairy. It is fun to go and see Tony at work and the boys seem to like it. When you go in the back you have to where a hair net, so I got some pictures with Tyler and Josh in their hair nets. Always a good time at the Dairy.

Josh got his second tooth today. It was so close and I knew that it would come soon. I am glad that it is here, last night was kind of a rough one. I don't see anymore coming, so it might be a while until he gets some more.

Today Tony and his dad put in the posts of our fence and put in the new sidewalk. It looks really good so far. Tony's dad does good work and it is nice to see Tony and his dad working together so nice. I hope that my boys like working with Tony when they are older. We can't do much more with the fence until the cement all sets, so we have to wait until Monday to do too much more. I will post some before and after pictures when it is all done. SO EXCITED!

Josh got a tooth

Josh got his first tooth today. He has been close to getting his bottom two teeth for a couple weeks now. This morning I found that the top of one came out and I think that the other bottom tooth will come out very soon. Josh woke up a couple times last night just for a minute, but then went right back to sleep. I am glad that it didn't hurt him too bad. Now for tooth number two. I like it when my kids have teeth because then I can give them the food that we are eating. However, it also means that my little baby is getting bigger...it happens WAY too fast!

Doctor Visit

Yesterday my mom and I took Tyler and Josh to their well child visits. I was glad that my mom came to help out. Another pair of hands was very helpful.

Tyler had his for turning 3 and Josh for turning 6 months. I got some pictures of Tyler on my phone, but I didn't take any of Josh. Tyler did pretty good, but in general he wasn't a fan of the doctor. This time he got his blood pressure checked (very good) and they had him change in to a paper gown. He wasn't a big fan of the gown and ended up just hanging out in his diaper. He really hates it when the doctor looks in his ears, so he covered his ears right away and started crying when she came over to look at him. It was pretty sad. So we didn't have her look in them this time. She also asked him some questions and had him point out some stuff in a book that she gave him. She said that he looks really good. Here are his stats:

Height: 36 3/4 inches ------ 31%
Weight: 34 pounds --------- 72%

Josh also did really good. He ended up getting four shots. It was so sad, but he was a real champ. Only cried for a minute and then he was fine. She checked him out and said that everything looks really good. I asked her about him spitting up a lot still and she said that unless he seemed like he was in pain then their was really nothing to worry about. Here are his stats:

Height: 26 3/4 inches --------------- 64%
Weight: 18 pounds 1 ounce ---------- 62%
Head Size: 42.6 cent ---------------- 21%

So everything is looking good with the boys. That is what I like to hear!

Tyler's 3rd Birthday

Today we celebrated Tyler's birthday. He turned 3 last Saturday, but since we were traveling back from vacation we celebrated today. We had both of our families come and it was really fun.

Tyler loved having his cousins over and playing with them. They wanted to play with Tyler as soon as they got here and I think that Tyler really loved that. We should have them over more often. Then we all ate some refreshments and then Tyler was ready to open his presents. Everyone was very generous and Tyler loved all of the presents. Tony and I got him a t-ball set and he REALLY loved it. He wanted to open it and go play with it outside as soon as he opened it. We wanted to do cake and ice cream then, but he wanted nothing to do with it. I even lit the candle and asked if he wanted to blow it out -- he did -- but then when we started singing 'Happy Birthday' Tyler started crying. It was silly. I think that he was just so tired and needed a nap, but didn't get one.

Then Tony set up the t-ball set and took him outside. The rest of us had cake and ice cream. Grandpa even gave Josh some. I didn't even know that he was doing it until it was all over Josh's face. He seemed to enjoy it. Grandpa said that he was eying his food, so he gave him some. Sounds like Josh. He is started to get into eating real food, other then a bottle.

The other kids decided to play outside too and the rest of us chatted. It was nice having everyone over. It seems like we generally just

see each other at our parents houses (Tony's parents and mine) but it is nice to see everyone in a different setting. We really should do this again...I think that we will in about 6 months...when Josh turns one.

Fun day with the ward ladies

Today we had a get together with some of the ward mom's and it was lots of fun. We do this "Day Break" once a month and it is usually at the ward, but today it was at a ward members home. Everyone brought something to eat to share and all the kids played. It was fun to chat with the other moms and to let Tyler play. Josh did really good too. I thought that he would get fussy because it was during his nap time, but he liked watching all the kids and stayed happy until it was time for him to eat again. I would really like to do something like this, on a smaller scale, every week and rotate people's houses. I will have to talk to a couple of the mom's and see if they would like to do that too.

Then later we had a baby shower for a mom-to-be in our ward. A lot of the same ladies came to the shower and we had a good time being silly together. When you get a bunch of stay at home moms out of the house without the kids, silliness is bound to happen. It was a fun shower and I think that everyone had a good time. Tony stayed home and put the kids to bed...and him self...he was tired...something about being at work at 4:00 am.

Tony took down the fence today. It happened pretty quick. Tyler loved "helping" him. He went and got his tools and it was pretty cute to see him "working." I think that we shocked some of our neighbors seeing the fence all down. It is pretty exciting to see the change. It will be exciting when the new fence is all done and we can enjoy it.

Taking the boys out

I love this spring weather. My boys love to be outside and I like it too. I took the boys to Walmart today to get some needed groceries. I forgot my wallet and didn't realize it until I got to the store and then had to turn around and go back home to get it. Josh and Tyler did really good in the store. I don't go many places with the boys without Tony because I am always worried that Tyler will act up and Josh will cry, but they both did great. Of course with the better weather, I will probably take them out more. I need to not be such a baby about it.

I am helping with a baby shower tomorrow night and then we are celebrating Tyler's 3rd birthday on Saturday. Good times. I am glad that tomorrow is Thursday. It starts our weekend because Tony works four 10 hours shifts, so he has Friday's off. It is definitely the best thing about his crazy working hours.

Back from our adventures

We got back yesterday from spending a week in California. We all had a really good time. We left on Saturday and drove to St. George to visit with Tony's grandparents for a little while. Then from there we drove to Las Vegas and stayed the night. The weather was pretty nice there. Tony's mom, Margie, Tyler and I went swimming there, but it wasn't quite swimming weather, so we spent most the time in the hot tub. Luckily it wasn't too hot, so Tyler could go in it too.

On Sunday we headed towards California. We left early enough so
that we could go to a 1:00 pm church near our hotel. While we were driving we saw a pretty crazy accident and ended up pulling over to help and talk to the police about what we saw. It was quite exciting. No one was hurt and we were glad that we were far enough back that our car wasn't affected by it. Even with the delay we still made it in time for church. So we went to sacrament and then headed for the hotel to check in. We got in our room and got unpacked and then decided to hang out for a little bit. Then we went to dinner at a yummy Mexican restaurant. Then we went back to the hotel to get some rest for the day.

Monday was our first day at Disneyland. The weather was a little cloudy, but for the most part it was a nice day. Tyler was really funny when he first went on the rides. He would hold his hand up to his mouth and just look around. He never said that he didn't like any rides, but was very unsure about them at first. After he had gone on a ride a couple of times and new what to expect, he didn't do the whole hand to mouth thing. It was pretty funny to watch him take in all the sites. He really liked all the little kid rides and would say "That was fun" after we would get off. It was really fun to see Disneyland through the eyes of a little kid. Tyler has gone to Disneyland before, but he was too young to show too much expression. Tony and I really loved seeing how much he loved it.

We got to see some characters. Tyler and Josh did really good
with them. They didn't scare them at all. Tyler gave them all high fivers and even a hug. Our favorites were Tigger and Pooh...and of course Mickey. They didn't seem to have too many out. That is what we get for going during off peek time. It is worth it for the shorter lines. We asked Tyler was his favorite ride was and he said the car ride. He liked Autotopia and the bumper cars.

Josh did pretty good with all the craziness. He slept pretty good in the stroller and we would either sit on a bench to feed him or we would even do it on a slow moving ride. That is the benefit of bottle feeding. When he was napping is when we would try and hit the bigger rides. One would stay off with the boys and the other would go on the ride and then with the stroller pass, the one who waited then gets to go on the ride. It is a pretty nice system. I got to chat with many nice people while I waited with Josh, or I just people watched. It is interesting to me to see all those different people and to see how they interact with their kids or other people. Their are some interesting people out there.

We did Disneyland on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Itseemed like each day got a little bit busier, but really nothing too bad. I think that the longest that we waited for a ride was like 25 minutes. Then some rides we were able to pretty much walk right on. On Tuesday and Wednesday the winds picked up and they were really cold winds. We were good with just our short-sleeved shirts on for most the day, but definitely needed our jackets at night. Tyler also really liked the parade down Main Street. He liked to dance with the performers. It was a different parade then they usually do. They had some of the kids from the audience come and dance with them. I didn't really like that. I would rather see professionals dance then some other people's kids. That's just me.

On Thursday we checked out of our hotel and headed down to San Diego. We went to the San Diego Zoo first. It was a nice zoo and it was fun to see all the animals, but I think that the next time that I go it will be with older kids. A lot of the animals were hard for Tyler to see so he got bored pretty easily. There is also a lot of walking at the zoo. Things are hard to get to and it is easy to get lost. A good time was had, but it will be a while until we go there again. After the zoo, we went and checked into our hotel. This hotel had a popcorn machine and that is just great. All the hotels that we stayed at were really nice, but I liked this one the best because of the popcorn.

On Friday we got up and headed to Sea World. Tony and I really
like Sea World and so do Tyler and Josh. Josh loved to watch the dolphins, just like his daddy. Margie got us some fish food to feed the otters and the dolphins and Tyler just LOVED that. He then wanted to feed all the animals at Sea World. Tyler's favorite animal at Sea World were the penguins. We even got him a stuff penguin. They are pretty cute, smelly, but cute. They have an awesome play ground there too. Tyler loved being able to just play. They have a couple rides, but he really just wanted to climb things and play. I guess he had extra
energy that he needed to get out. I don't know how, I was pooped

with all that walking. Friday was the best weather day. The sun was shinning strong and the wind wasn't blowing very much. I even got a little sun burnt on my arms and my feet (I was wearing flip flops). Sea World is always fun and we really like going there.

Saturday we headed back to Las Vegas where we stayed the night before heading back to Salt Lake. The wind was blowing so hard there that it was hard to even open my car door. We wanted to go swimming, but it was just way too cold. We drove to the Las Vegas temple while we were there. It was really pretty. I hadn't even seen that temple before. Then we ate dinner and then went to the grocery store to get Tyler a special birthday treat. It was his 3rd birthday on that Saturday. We didn't make too big of deal about it because we are going to really celebrate it this coming Saturday with cake and a party.

Sunday we got up, packed, ate breakfast, checked out and then headed for church. We went to sacrament and then started our journey home. Tyler had about enough of the car by then, but still was pretty good for all that driving. Josh did amazingly well. It hardly even fusses and we were able to feed him in his car seat. He was a good happy baby. We had a really good time and we are really grateful to Tony's parents for taking us on this fun vacation. Tony's dad wasn't able to come, but we thought about him while we
were there. It was great to get to spend some one-on-one time with Tony's mom and our little family to get to know her better and for the boys to get some quality Grandma time, just them. A huge THANK YOU to them!!! We are glad to be back, but can't wait to go again when the boys are a little older. Now back to real life.

Stroller rides and hair cuts

Yesterday was a beautiful day. The sun was shinning and it was great to be outside. We decided to use our new double stroller that we got a couple of weeks ago. The boys LOVED it. Josh loves being outside almost as much as Tyler does. We started out strong and walked to see the sheep, but then on the way back both Tyler and Josh fell asleep. Since our double stroller is a sit-and-stand one, Tony held Tyler once he fell asleep so that he wouldn't fall out. Going on that walk really got me excited for spring and summer when we can go on lots of stroller rides. After we got back I decided to do a little gardening and it was great to see all the flowers starting to pop out of the ground. I have a lot of bulbs planted, so I am excited to see them all bloom. Spring is just around the corner - yeah!

Tony took Tyler and got both of their hair cuts today. Tony's hair is the shortest that I have ever seen it. I am not sure how much I like it yet. Of course, he still looks good...it is just a little short. Tyler's hair looks way cute. The hair dresser put some gel in his hair and he looked so old, I can't believe that he is almost three. This is the best picture I could get out of him, he was being so silly. You can sort of see his hair. He is such a silly kid.
