Fun trip to Idaho

On Saturday we left to go to Twin Falls, Idaho. I had two cousins who were blessing their babies on Sunday so we went to go and visit with family. We haven't seen this family for a long time so it was way fun to spend time with them. We left at about noon and the drive wasn't too bad. Tyler slept for about an hour of the ride, but then with a movie on he didn't mind the rest of the drive. It is only a little over three hours to get there, so not bad at all. Once we got there we checked into The Hampton Inn and then went to our room. We are Hilton Honor members, so they gave us some cookies and a bottled water. Free stuff is always welcomed.

After we got settled in, we got ready in our swimming stuff and went down to the pool. Tyler loves playing in the water, but now seems to like the hot tube more then the pool. I think that it is because he can stand on the seat and it feels like a big bath tube. So we didn't stay there too long, since I can't really be in the hot tube for very long. It wasn't that hot, but I did get hot. So we went and showered and got ready to see our family.

Once we were ready then we stopped at the grocery store and picked up some food for the lunch the next day and then we drove over to James's house and dropped it off. After we went to the hotel that the rest of our family was staying in and found my cousin Brandy and her family and then waited for my siblings to get ready for dinner. Then we went to a pizza and salad buffet place that was pretty fun. That is where all the pictures are from.
Then we went back to our hotel and went to bed. The next morning we went to sacrament and enjoyed the two baby blessings. After we went to James's house and enjoyed a yummy lunch and then headed home. It was really windy and a little snowy coming back, but besides that it was a good drive. Tyler slept for almost the whole time, so that made it really nice for me and Tony. Overall it was a nice trip and way fun to see the Grover's. We really need to visit with them more often.

A trip to the doctors and St. George

On Monday I had my 14 week appointment with my midwife.  I am pregnant with baby #2!  I wish that I could have blogged about this sooner, but I wanted to wait until I was out of my first trimester. I got to hear the babies heart beat and everything seems to be doing good with the baby. I have been pretty sick with this baby. I don't think that I am as sick as I was with Tyler, but it is pretty close. I only throw up about every other day, instead of every day. That is good, right!
I have had so many different symptoms with this pregnancy. I have never had heart burn before, but I have gotten it with this baby. My sense of smell is stronger, and I am way more emotional. Funny huh. It is so true that every pregnancy is different. I scheduled my ultra sounds for April 27th, so we are really looking forward to seeing the baby and making sure that everything looks good with him or her. Tony and Tyler are really excited. We got Tyler a little baby to teach him to be soft and gentle with the baby. He is really cute with it.

Then later that day we drove down to St. George with my mom to celebrate my grandpa's 85th birthday. We stayed at my grandpa's house and him and his new wife live in her house a couple doors down. Later that day Tony, Tyler, and I went to visit with Tony's grandparents. We ate dinner there and enjoyed visiting with them. We shared our news about the baby and they were excited for us. We were hoping to take them out for dinner, but Tony's grandpa wasn't feeling so good. We then tried to pay for the pizza that we got and his grandpa said, "some day you'll have to wipe my nose and change my diaper, but you wont buy me dinner." He is so funny and so nice. We really enjoy spending time with them.

The next day we took Tyler to the park in the morning and he just loved it. They had a fun play ground with three fun slides. He loves those. Then by the play ground they had a baseball diamond and Tyler thought that was the best thing ever. We didn't even have a ball with us, but he didn't care. He ran all the bases like six times. I couldn't believe that he just kept running. It was so cute. I can't wait to see what sports he ends up doing when he is older. We had a good time at the park. Then we went back to my grandpa's so that Tyler could take a nap.

After his nap we went to lunch with my Uncle Norman, my cousin Phil and his wife Chona, Sherri and Rich, my mom, and us. It was lots of fun to spend time together and eat some good food. After lunch we went to the branch down there so that I could check my work e-mail and do some work. After that we went to Tony's grandparents place and went swimming. It wasn't way warm, only about 65 degrees, but the pool was warm and we had a good time. Tyler loved just sitting in the hot tub (it wasn't too hot) and watching the other kids play. He wasn't very happy that we left.
But my grandpa's birthday dinner was soon so we went back and showered and got ready for dinner. Most of my grandpa's siblings were there, so it was way fun to hear them talk about growing up and how funny they are. I learned a lot about where I come from and why I am so obnoxious. Good to know it runs in the family.
Then on Wednesday we got ready and left for home. Tyler did pretty good in the car, as good as a two year old can during a four and a half hour car drive. It was good to be home. We leave on Saturday to drive to Twin Falls, Idaho for my cousins baby blessings. We are staying over night and it should be lots of fun to see more family. I just hope that he does well with the three hour car ride since we just got back from such a long trip. Luckily we have Tony's mom's CD player, so that definitely helps in the car. Should be fun!

Happy Birthday Tyler

Tyler turned 2 yesterday. I can't believe how fast time goes by. We had a fun day yesterday and today for Tylers birthday. Yesterday we took Tyler to Leatherby's for lunch and then Tony's parents took us all out to IHOP for Tyler's birthday dinner. It was lots of fun. We all went in Tony's mom's new car and got to see all the fun new gadgets that she has. Tyler really liked the DVD player that she has and being able to reach the button to open his window. Thanks to Lloyd and Margie for some good dinner and some good company.

Then today we had Tyler's birthday party with our families. I think that it went really well. Tony made a turkey and we had rolls, meatballs, fruit salad (thanks mom), veggies (thanks Sherri), and a yummy Costco cake. Tyler got lots of good presents (thanks to everyone). Tyler really loves them all. He got some cloths, a baseball bat and balls, a bowling set, a couple trucks, tools, basketball hoop, and a tricycle. He really did love them all. Overall I thought that everything went really well. No big problems or "situations", so that is always good. Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated the day with us!

Tyler is doing some really fun things these days. He pretends to sneeze by saying "Ah chew." it is so cute. If we ask him what a fish does, then he puckers his lips and moves them up and down. So funny. I have no idea where he got that from, he is just so cleaver. He is talking a lot more too. I wish he talked a little more, but he is doing more and more each day. He is starting to say things together like, "please daddy" or "juice daddy" - so fun.
This really has been a great year with Tyler and I learn so much from him everyday (mostly patience, but still). He still LOVES sports. Anything with balls, he just loves. He is really good with them too. He can throw pretty far and can even catch the ball sometimes. He has a little football that he likes to get down (like the football players do) and then I say "hut, hut, hike" and then he runs and then throws the ball. So cute. He is so talented with so many different sports it will be interesting to see what he ends up doing when he is older. He is just a joy and Tony and I are so lucky to have such a great son. We love him very very much. Happy birthday Mijo, te quiero mucho!

Things to blog about...

It is Tyler's birthday on Friday and so we decided to get him a basketball hoop for his birthday. We got it on Saturday and decided to let him play with it early. He loved it. I really loves to play with all types of balls and we got him a little hoop when he was one, and he still likes to play with it so we knew that he would love a bigger one. It was pretty cold still that day, but the sun was out and that helped. Tyler really didn't care and had a great time. He is really impressive with the basketball. He would put it over his head and make a lot of his shots. I think that Tony likes the hoop almost as much as Tyler. Good thing we bought an extra ball for Tony to play with. Since Saturday we have brought it into the house and Tyler has played with it everyday. The hoop goes from 3 feet to 6 feet, so it better last a long time.

Tyler and I got sick again last week and we are still trying to get over it. I ended up getting pink eye in both of my eyes last Thursday and then Tyler got it on Monday. So Tyler is on an antibiotic and I have been doing eye drops. I have had the worst cough ever that just seems to linger. It really makes sleeping hard, but I do think that it is getting a little better. I sure can't wait until it starts getting warmer so that people will stop being so sick and passing it on to everyone else!

Last Sunday we went up to Logan and went to a baby blessing of our newest nephew, Mathew. It was a really nice blessing and we got to spend some time with Tony's family. It has been a long to since we have seen everyone and a good time was had.

This past week...

It has been a pretty low key week this past week. We have all just been trying to get better and get healthy again. Everyday I am feeling better and better. I only really cough a lot in the mornings, besides that it is much better.
Today we had a baby shower for my friend Heather at my house. It was lots of fun to spend time with our girl friends and to celebrate the baby girl that Heather will have in about 5 weeks. Us girls really do need to get together more often. Tony was so good to take Tyler during the shower so I didn't have to worry. He is so good to me.
Tony has been reffing our stakes basketball games and lately he has been getting tons of calls for him to ref for other stakes. It is pretty funny because no one asked him if it was okay for his name to be on a reffing list and he would really rather not ref a bunch of games in stakes he doesn't even know. He is a really good ref and so lots of people want him to do their games. I really like to watch him ref because he is so good and it is fun to watch. Generally someone gets a T when Tony refs, so that is just good fun.
Yesterday Julie came over with her kids and we went to lunch while Tony watched the kids (remember how I said that Tony is so good to me -- he really is!). It was lots of fun for the kids to get to play together and Julie and I had a good time chatting and eating some semi good food. I think that we need to do that more ofter, at least once a month. I will have to talk to Tony and see what he thinks about that since he would be the one stuff with all the kids. I am so lucky to have a husband that loves kids.

How quickly things goes south

On Sunday, Tony wasn't feeling very good and ended up calling in sick on Monday. Then I started feeling like I was getting his cold on Monday. That quickly turned into a bad cold and then I didn't go to work on Tuesday. So then by Wednesday I was doing really really bad. I was coughing up "stuff" and my ears hurts and my head was all stuffed up and I was freezing hot. So hot in side, but freezing out side. So Tony came back from work really early that day and took me to the doctor. He said that I had bronchitis, an ear infection, and a sinus infection. So he gave a an antibiotic and recommended Sudafed for my sinus issues. So, I have been really sick.
Tony, bless his heart, called his work and took today and yesterday off to take care of me and Tyler. I have been in bed for most of this week, but am slowly starting to feel better. I don't cough as much and sound much better. I have found that the Sudafed doesn't really work, so I have just been doing a pain reliever instead. The worst part is at night when it is time to sleep. I can't lay on side or on my back because it makes me cough so bad, so I have been trying to sleep in the LA-Z-BOY and that has helped a little. I know that I am in for the long hall with this cough, but I am just glad that I didn't wait to get into the doctor and start taking medicine. I am also grateful that Tyler is already on an antibiotic so he has avoided this crap. One good thing about pink eye.

Lovely Family Dinner

Yesterday my mom and dad had a birthday dinner for me at their house with my siblings. It was lots of fun. We have all been feeling a little under the weather at my house so it was nice to get out and spend time with the fam. We had a delicious meal and then we opened some presents. Thank you so much to Sherri for the way cute bunny figurings and thanks to Julie for the cute card holder (so creative) and thanks to mom for the fun make up. It was a fun night.
We then had a really good chocolate cake from Costco. It was so rich that a little sliver of cake way totally enough, good stuff. It was lots of fun to spend time just chatting with everyone and enjoying each others company. I love my family so much, every one of them. We all have our own personalities and feelings and I have learned so much from all of my family members. We are far from perfect, but we all love each other! Thanks to my family for thinking about me and making me feel special on my special day. I love you all.

Happy Birthday to me...

And Happy Valentine's Day to all. Most people would like to have a nice relaxing birthday where they get pampered and it is all roses and chocolate (especially when your birthday is on Valentine's Day)...but that is not the kind of day that I have had so far. After having a terrible night last night with Tyler all by my self because Tony was camping with the boy scouts, I have been so tired all day. Tyler decided to not want to sleep and then cried so hard that he threw up (yummy), and then was restless all night. So then, of course, he didn't sleep in at all and was pretty grumpy. I did notice that when he woke up he had a lot of green goop (I'm sure that's the medical term for it) in his eye. So that's not good. I wasn't too concerned about it (even though I should have been) so we went on with our morning like usual.
When I woke up it was snowing pretty good and already had a couple inches on the ground. It snowed until about 11ish. I love the snow and wish it would snow more when it is winter time. I don't really care for the snow when it is suppose to be spring time, however. Any who...so Tony got home about 12:15 and we got ready to go to the temple. We drove Tyler to my mom's (thanks mom for watching him - you're a life saver) and then went to the Jordan River Temple. It was a beautiful ceremony and it was so wonderful to see that cute family be sealed for eternity. We are so blessed to have that opportunity.
After the temple, Tony and I went to lunch and it was really good. Then we went to pick up Tyler and his eye was looking pretty bad. My mom told me that my sister's kids had pink eye this week and that Tyler probably had that too. AWESOME, I thought. So we took him to the Urgent Care and waited for about a hour there before the doctor saw Tyler. By then Tyler didn't want anything to do with any of the medical people and threw a fit when they tried to do anything to him. So the doc said that his ear looked a little red and gave us a prescription for eye drops and Amoxacilion. Isn't that fun!?! Then we came home and Tony gave me some delicious chocolate covered caramel hearts and we have just been hanging out ever sense. Tony did find some cheap Valentine's Day balloons at the store when he got Tylers prescription and Tyler has been having so much fun playing with them.
So with throw up, lack of sleep, temple fun, doctors office, and chilling at home it has been a pretty crazy day. I hope Tyler feels better soon and that life goes back to normal quickly. Birthday dinner at my parents tomorrow should make for an excellent way to end my birthday. Good bye 27 and Hello 28!

Mama needs a break...

Today Tyler decided to take a 10 minute nap. I am sorry, but that is not enough time for me to get any work done, let a lone get a real break from Tyler. That sounds terrible, but I need some time for me to do whatever I need to do. I totally have tons more patience and am a better mom when Tyler takes a good nap and sleeps well at night. Sleeping is a wondering thing.
Who needs a diaper?
Tony has to go to Klondike tomorrow. So once he gets home from work tomorrow then he leaves to go camping in the snow (crazy) and then he wont be back until Saturday at noon. It would have been later, but some friends of ours are getting sealed in the temple on Saturday and they invited us to come. So we have to be there at 1:30. We are so happy for them. Getting sealed on Valentines Day, that is so sweet. So Tyler had better take a nap tomorrow or I might go crazy...if I am not already...okay, I am a little bit.

Oh what a fun time

On Saturday I went and saw my little sister, Teagan, in a musical at the Junior High. She did really good and it was fun to go with my family and cheer her on. Kevin took a date, Teagan's math teacher - so funny - and Teagan's little boyfriend was there and he sat in between my mom and Sherri's husband, Richard, during the play. Funny stuff. After the play, we went to Leatherby's and had some ice cream. It was really fun to get to know Kevin's date and Teagan's boyfriend. I guess I talked a little too much to his date and he felt like he didn't get to do much talking. Upps, you know me, I'm a talker.

Okay, so based on Roseanne's recommendation, we have started to do some sleep training with Tyler. Super Nanny suggests putting the kid in the bed and then just putting him back every time he gets out of the bed until he gives up and goes to sleep. Well, Tony did this on Saturday night and it took an hour and a half for Tyler to actually go to sleep. So then on Sunday we tried it again and Tyler was crying a lot, but Tony stayed in the room and Tyler fell a sleep after not too long. Then Monday came and we started him in the bed and then he started to cry and got out of the bed, but then Tony was staying in there (just sitting on his toy chest) and then I went in and sat on Tylers floor (to relieve Tony) and then Tyler feel asleep after about 20 or so minutes. So, long story short we have kind of been doing a softer approach to the Super Nanny thing and just sitting in there with him until he goes to sleep. It will probably take longer for him to fully be able to sleep by him self, but I am okay with that. Especially if it means less screaming.
